10 Hellblasters + Apothecary with Bolter Disipline. Cool thing about HBs is that they all have plasma pistols so in the event that they're tied in combat they don't necessarily need to fall back to shoot so overcharged plasma

Dont forget, the desolation wargear for the missile launchers has to be selected prior to the battle. Unlike other missile launcher profiles that can swap between krak and frag during the battle, the desolation cannot and have to maint6that chosen profile for the duration of the battle.

I have about 10 or 12 games in so far. I definitely like scouts but they can be avoided and you can deep strike to kill them easily. My suggestion..you want to just take a 5 man, look at character/transport options first. There are so many amazing 65-80 pt options like.. Scout bike squad, judicar, techmarines. That being said if you want to commit to using scouts, my favorite way to take them is take 3x5 man squads with a missile launcher. It's a fairly cheap, moderate ranged threat with a large area denial

Whirlwinds are still insane for 150 points. I’d take them over lancers. Almost all of my lists start with 2 whirlwinds and 1 desolation squad.

Oh yeah 100%, I am loving the WW at the moment, it was almost on this list but I just felt the other options edged it out ever so slightly! I would 100% also be bringing 1 or 2 in most of my games if I was building a competitive list though for sure!

Picked one up three days before the index dropped because I thought it looked cool. When a fluff player is accidentally meta 🤣.

I would also add Eradicators I think, they are quite strong rerolling everything, especially if you attach an apotechary biologis with bolter discipline enchancement

Yeah eradicators with an apoth biologis are a very solid pick too, anything with their own native re-rolls is just so good because you can go after non-oath targets and still feel like you're getting a version of the army buff!

I'm loving the Judiciar. Really fun unit.

I agree with the Sniper squad definitely an effective unit. Even better if you throw in SERGEANT TELION in there. He's super cheap and adds additional bonuses for the units he's leading. Another cheap, but under rated unit is the ATTACK BIKE SQUAD, 55 points and you can add a Multi Melta weapon to do really good damage.

3 units I think get overlooked that have amazing manipulation skills and cheap punch Phobos captain running with Infiltrators+comms 1st off-his lord of Deceit skill...infiltrate your dudes and screen out the midfield...then pick them up and hold in reserves or redeploy ...after deployment and 1st turn roll off but before the first turn starts. The options for units to do this with also include Invictor Warsuits 2nd- captain can grant a 0cp stratagem once per turn...doing that on infils with comms gets you 1 cp on a 5+...verdict is still out on whether or not comms works when targeted by enemy stratagems. It's not a once per turn and doesn't specifically say 'friendly'...it says 'whenever you target this unit....'as a Deathwatch player...using the special issue ammo let's you TWO kill teams with EACH activation...so 2 spectrus teams get targeted for special issue ammo for 0 Cp so if both have comms arrays...you get 2 rolls..5 bonus cp is my Best in one game. Lastly one of my favorite units, that I can't use while playing deathwatch, is the Scout Bikers...150pts for 6xt5/w3 models..you can give them all astartes nade launchers instead of the twin linked bolters, they still have shotguns and the Sgt can take a thunder hammer...they also Outflank

All very good picks too! I like that the Phobos Characters can join things like the Scouts even though they're not primaris, lets you add some quite nice buffs to things like the sniper scouts redeploying them or just getting free strats on them! I've never actually used scout bikers, but just having a look at them now they do seem quite underrated, getting a sneaky Unit in the Enemy deployment zone when they aren't expecting it is a nasty little trick!

@@TheSixMachine man I love it no one talks about them but I think they are the best thing out of levithan I was running them with a libarian in a rhino but with the results they were getting I switched for just them and a drop pod sheer volume of pain even on non oaths targets has been great

I wonder how much this has changed in the last 5 months. Several pts and rule changes have happened since we got our codex.

It's definitely on my to-do list to do an updated list for each Army as their Codex releases, and do a list for each Detachment specifically, as obviously that may change what Units are considered good! :)

Can’t find scout sniper kits anywhere. So I just have to roll with my eliminators unfortunately they aren’t as cheap as they used to be but 2 squads of 3 still useful even if it’s only 2 shots as Intend to take the sgt with the instigator bolt rifle. Move shoot move is still good. When I’m screening out my deployment zone. I keep them back, then move up for shots, then move back to cover to block out deep strikes and strategic reserves.

The rumour (not sure how accurate but I've seen it thrown around in a few places now) was scouts vs striking scorpions in an upcoming kill team box, so I'm hoping that they get a new kit soon because I want to grab some and yeah, I just can't get my hands on them anywhere! I love eliminators, but I just don't like the fact they're still limited to 3 in a squad, and they just seem a bit pricey when scout snipers do (most) of the what they can do, just for so much cheaper :(

Thoughts on intercessors I love them for sticky objective and their overall flexibility but it bums me that some missions give sticky objective to both armies, making them essentially worthless

Yeah it's annoying when you roll a mission like that and feel like you've wasted points, I've had it in previous games and editions where it didn't let you have units in reserve and I'd planned on having some inceptors dropping in, but I still think intercessors are good and the sticky objective ability is always a super useful one to have, so I tend to bring a squad in most my games anyway!

Gladiator vs Repulsor executioner thoughts?

Whats the logic for the picking between the hailstrike or the thunderstrike? One helps with AP and one helps with wound roll

I've not run all the maths myself, I imagine for some army lists/opponents the extra ap may be a really clutch thing. I just think... for me anyway, I much prefer that +1 to Wound rolls that seems to be a bit more powerful overall. Also I think the thunderstrike has better guns than the hailstrike too, which always helps! :P

Not shure about the hellblasters because they only do good damage if you supercharge them. Without an apothecary it is quite likely that you lose a lot of them due to the hazard test. In my opinion Sternguard are a better pick if you equip them with combiweapons only: they are cheaper, antiinfantery 4+ and rapid fire 1 and can shoot twice. Also the Redemptor Dreadnought is clearly missing because of the damage reduction which make the unit very durable. It also does a lot of damage. The ironclad is also very good.

They definitely get much, much better with that apothecary to bring them back. Sternguard are good but I think the maths on them (could be wrong, just going by what friends have said in various places) the Sternguard Bolt Rifle usually works out to be better than the combi-weapon cos of the extra shot, hitting on 3's, and -1ap, but sternguard are definitely a solid unit too, and I could see some players taking them over hellblasters for sure!

Thing is you don't care if they die. They will always get their points and if they die 50% chance to get extra shots

I think they're underrated tbh, and actually one of the better battleline units in the game right now, 22ppm for a T6, 3W, 3+ Save model that gets a nice boost against D1 is very nice! It takes a lot of D1/2 firepower to get rid of them, and using D3 weapons is quite low volume so not ideal for taking out infantry squads, so they're in a solid spot I think. Also helps that they have a really versatile gun too that can do okay at light and medium infantry, nothing super amazing but Str 5, -1ap and 30" means they can outshoot most other armies battleline level infantry!

Scouts... are gone dude. They don't sell them

Is the rocket worth bringing on the snipers?

I personally think so, it lets you potentially target a vehicle and so some work if there's no characters about, or just chuck a few extra frag shots into a squad that's with a Leader, and just gives a tiny bit more utility to the Squad, although I think going full sniper rifles is equally as valid, and if you just want to kill enemy HQ's all game long it's certainly not a bad way to do it! :)

The video has 5 Units covered, it's just KZreads "clever" auto-generated Chapters thinking that Scouts and Desolation Marines are the same thing for some reason 😂

Not a bad video but would be nice to see your own style, not the Auspec Tactics clone. Also that wall of text just hurts the eyes and turns you off to listening only. Other than that it’s ok

No sternguard veteran. Malum caedo would be disappointed
