About Spectre Sound Studios:
I'm Glenn Fricker, engineer here at Spectre Sound Studios. I love making records, and after doing it for sixteen years, I want to pass on what I've learned. We've covered Moon on the Water, played Bias FX, given you the absolute best in Stupid Musician Texts, ranted & raved about bass guitar, and this channel is where The Eagle has Landed.
Everything you've wanted to learn about recording Hard Rock & Heavy Metal can be found right here on this channel!
I also respond to your comments & questions: The best make it into the SMG Viewer's Comments series of videos. Loads of fun, lots of laughs.

I once played in a band from which the singer was a huge fan of not only the singing, but even more the beháviour of Axl Rose on- ánd off-stage, around the time of the Use Your Illusion tour. Respect to all - freakin' awesome. That nugget of gold advice there, "find your own sound" was something I was told by a gentleman who saw me play as a kid. (I later found out who he was and was blown away that he'd even speak to me). I was not about to start windmilling anytime soon. I took to Vox amps, AC15 with 2 reverbs and the original metal zone - wish i'd kept hold of that it'd be worth a bomb now.

So I just bought this pack and have never used an IR before, but have used the Ignite-Amps Amp Sims and thinking they sound like shit and not knowing why, so I thought that the IR and Pulse would simply make it sound like the Amp too, well boy-oh-boy did I learn something completely new just now. With the amp sim models, you need a cab loader! NOW IT MAKES SENSE! This was SOOOOOOO worth the $32.50 I spent on it and then more! This is definitely worth its weight in gold, and I literally just discovered this for the first time! Being an Audio Engineer is fun again! LOL

It's funny, I've always understood the idea of having your own sound in terms of writing music or playing an instrument, but I never really realized the same applied with recording itself. I had always thought recording was just supposed to capture the performance and sound you already had, not create the sound. Anyway gotta love his routing setup. Must have been tons of work planning that.

He does have a professional life and lives on his own, but I just don't think he is going to make it at this age, but I hope i'm wrong. At what age do you think it's too old to make a living as far making money as professional Indie singer? P.S. Thank you for all the years of entertainment you have provided us!

Being original is good advice, but originality gets lost in the cracks because people flock to what they know and what's familiar. You're damned if you do. You're damned if you don't. just make music because you like it, and it's fun and it gives you something. Don't make it for anyone else, don't make it for money. Just make it because it's art and that alone is worth it. *shrug*
