Over/under 4,000 pass yards for Caleb this season?

  • @PlaySA

Man that's a good spot for it. Think I'll go under, but only just. Over wouldn't surprise me that much, I am 100% convinced that this kid is easily one of the best prospects I've looked at in the last ten years. That being said, Matthew Stafford didn't even break 4k yards last season and he had a great year, so I'm still going under. Then again, CJ Stroud did break 4k and Caleb looks to me like the better prospect. Then again, The Bears. Anyways, I'll stick with the under.

Under... I would say 2500-2750 yards 17TDs and 17 INTs. The Bears will be a 6-11 time picking 6-7th in next year's draft. Caleb has all of the faults that Fields had... holding on the ball, taking sacks and fumbling. He plays in a one-read shot-gun system and he is smaller and slower than Fields. He and the Bears will struggle... because 85-90% of the things you get away with in college you won't fly in the NFL. Caleb will have to learn a lot, but he will have an average rookie year. As for Eberflus and Poles it won't be enough to save their jobs...good riddance!

@@josephwilliams5038 listen more and talk less. Fields biggest issue coming out of college was he was slow at reading defenses. Caleb doesn't have that problem. They do both hold onto the ball too long at times, though. BTW, the Bears won 7 games last year and made SIGNIFICANT offensive additions and have the 1 and 9 picks in this years draft. The over under is around 8 games currently. 6-11 is quite a stretch considering they play the Panthers, Commanders, Patriots, and a host of other awful teams.

At least you’re finally coming around to Caleb. Idk if it’s just a thing where you didn’t really watch the film 🎞️ or you couldn’t speak the truth because you don’t want to hurt Justin’s feelings, but when watching tape you have to take your own bias out of it. If you watch the game tape and not highlights you’ll see that Caleb was better than Justin even at 19 years old and you’re talking about how fast can he catch up. He’s awesome in the pocket like Marino. He moves around and steps up where the pressure comes from. His head’s always on the swivel and looking downfield to pass first. Out of the pocket it’s like Rodgers. The release is elite by any standard! He’s very accurate which will lead to more yac instead of how DJ was always waiting on the ball and getting drilled square in the back. He had to get helped up every play. Caleb’s hitches match the routes being ran. Justin’s didn’t. That’s why he was always so indecisive. Caleb really sells the mesh point. It’s not slow and lazy like Justin. He plays tall unlike Justin squatting down. Did I mention that arm and the release?? It’s smooth and like a whip! Justin’s is a pat, hitch, point the ball back and a big loop. Caleb is not afraid to throw over the middle like Justin. Justin’s in the right place behind Russ and that’s exactly who he needs to model his game after. The whole time he was in Chicago I was begging for him to boot and option once he’s outside. Either complete the easy pass or run it. We had no defense for it just like in Urlacher’s last game where Russell picked us apart. If Justin played like that, he wouldn’t be gone. He’ll take over for Wilson after he humbles himself. But yeah, I hope you apologize for putting Caleb down. If you didn’t watch the tape, admit it. If you were trying to save Justin here, admit it. It wasn’t a good look and I lost a lot of respect for you. I think you owe the kid an apology. You are very far behind on Caleb and I think you need to catch up before putting out your videos. I promise I’m not being rude, but you were misleading fans.

If I could like this comment a thousand times I would. You articulated this statement to perfection. People don’t get why we like this kid so much because they don’t watch film and if they do they have their own bias or simply don’t know what to look for during film session. I was a JF fans got his jersey and all until I started to question why he wasn’t playing well and instead of me listening to the masses and blaming everyone else around him I watched his ALL 22 and bingo. Once again solid perspective 🫡.

@@adamdreger4286 exactly I have never seen so many people hate and try to discredit a kid all because there’s a chance that he’s better than JF, like come on as a football fan the bar is pretty low at quarterback. 30 Ints 30 fumbles, one 300 yard passing game in 3 years, 2600 yards passing in a passing league (they literally changed the rules for passing, can’t hit the qb low, can’t hit the qb helmet, can’t touch the WR’s pass the 5 yard line etc). People always complain about roster construction even though Poles had gave him enough to win with this past season when it’s about the individual qb play his willingness to throw over the middle, get rid of the ball and not take sacks, playing in rhythm, not turning over the ball etc has nothing to do with play calling or roster construction which the qb can’t control we’re not idiots lol

His accuracy is great, but thank you for highlighting one of my biggest concerns. He does NOT anticipate his throws. He has to see the WR is open before he releases the ball UNLESS the play call is a 50/50 ball or a corner route (throw to the sideline/back shoulder). IMO, this is the same issue JF1 has, which causes them to hold the ball too long. No hate: I hope the Bears select him and I hope he's a franchise guy for us. But I've watched A LOT of his film and I haven't seen him anticipate throws with any consistency, like what is required at the NFL level.

I’m getting behind whoever the bears take. I believe in this organization now since poles stepped in the building. I would’ve tried to grow with Fields but that’s me. Seeing what we did with not a lot of talent. And basically the same team with Keenan Allen, Deandre swift, and Gerald Everett as new weapons plus what we could’ve done in the draft there is no doubt in my mind Fields would’ve atleast turned to a 225 yd per game passer. And what he can do with his legs is top 2 in the league I’d say the best running qb because his ability to break tackles compared to Lamar’s ability. But we are going with someone new and Williams is a great prospect but he’s a lot like fields. I think he does try to stay in the pocket longer than fields but he don’t make a lot of good quick reads everytime even his quick throws he is holding the ball 3+ seconds after the snap. fields was running for his life trying to make shit happen 2 seconds after the snap because protection broke down. Hopefully our line is solid this year and Williams don’t have to be so antsy to get away to make a play happen.

These old head gate keepers of the NFL got everybody convinced there's only one way to win and it's just out of sheer laziness and good ole' boy group think. It'd be like watching the NBA and saying point guards should only pass. Or you can't win with a point guard who can score. Like wtf ?

@mr.nobody9697 Didn't bring up racism or race at any point. Not sure where you got that from. so they 2-5 is more indicative of Lamars talent/ability than the 58-19 and two MVPs lol?!??! Plenty of really good qbs won SB later in thier careers. Lamar is 27. To say his style is the reason they haven't won a SB is just clueless whe you have a much greater body of work and (two MVPs) saying the formula works. How come nobodys questioning how John Harbaugh can have a 2 time league MVP and that team every year and hasn't been to the SB. Why did Ravens RBs only run the ball 6 times in the AFC championship game when the Chiefs didn't score a single point in the second half?!!? That Lamars fault too!?!? Steve Young, Peyton Manning, John Elway all couldn't win the BIG ONE and had people talking about thier playoff records until they shut people up. Dan Marino never won. Must be because of his passing style right?!? Lamar has plenty of time. To take a 7 game sample size and ignore the 80 other game is wild and intentional on your part to sell your narrative that clearly isn't true.
