🌷The Tarot of Austin Osman Spare c.1906; The Lost Envoy, 2016; J. Allen (Ed.) FATHER OF CHAOS MAGIC
Austin Osman Spare was a UK based artist and the Father of Chaos Magic. [This video is about the cards, in the book. Not the book]. It is by mere historical accident, I think, that the RWS instead of the AOS became the most popular foundation of modern tarot in the English speaking world. If only AOS was as focused about the commercialisation of his tarot, as Waite was, we would probably all be starting learning the tarot with the AOS, instead the RWS.
If you look at his cards, images flow from one card into another, not unlike the method often used in cartomancy methods such as lernomand, sybilla, and kipper. In a more taromancy sphere, you can look at how Enrique Enriquez use his cards. (He has given up tarot but his methods remain a classic). Which has been a great inspiration to me. I used tarot cards this way myself, where I read strings of images, instead of image by image.
I will revisit the book in a separate video. The last time I checked, an actual physical deck of this tarot is not yet available due to copyright reasons and this book had become out of print at the time of posting this.

I appreciate the video you made concerning the Austin osman spare deck and the lost envoy book. The deck and book set is actually on kickstarter right now and because of your video I'm considering backing it. I've never been involved in a kickstarter project before this would be my first. Anyway , thanks

Thank you so much for letting me know! About the KS and also your appreciation! KS is not shop, so backing a project or campaign there does not constitute a sales and purchase agreement. Having said that, I checked out their KS, and both parties involved in this project are very reputable. I highly doubt they will do anything untoward! All the best with it and have fun!

The book have became out of print from what I heard. I bought the book soon after it came out and shared it on this channel a few years ago. Thanks for watching!

It was buried in a magic museum all these years until recently. There is a lecture about it by the editor of this book on KZread I can highly recommend you check that out, because the book is sadly out of print. And maybe write to the publisher and see about reprinting 😬

It was never reproduced as cards, only in this book. I am not sure what their plans are sorry.

@@magdamanoli8753 They were only discovered relatively recently. Created before the RWS. But went underground. So I think there are still a lot of legal things to sort out before they can even do it. There is a video here on KZread with the editors talking about the whole story. I personally enjoyed it. Also, this is a whole other system. If this had been published immediately after it was created in 1906, that's BEFORE the RWS, who knows, we all might be starting off with this system, instead of the RWS.
