Ah I am glad to hear of that! I am really having fun with this and I continue to highly recommend the deck (noting the caveats I mentioned of course). I am getting rid of the majority of my tarot collection, but this one is still in my house 😁 I am not likely to pursue a better printed copy. NOTE: If you like reading the stories behind the images on the cards, typified by The Tarot of Delphi, which I think is one of the first of its kind, then you will find this absolutely delightful. I had been wondering why I derive such pleasure from this deck in 2021, so much so that I dare say it is one of the best tarot I have had the pleasure to enjoy in 2021. I think I just found the answer. It is a story tarot. Stories, the medium of metaphors and parables, were some of the most powerful ways of divining in ancient times. In some cultures this is still true today. Prophecies from temples and mountains, hermits and magicians of old, in the form of a parable. My grandparents consulted a hermit in a mountain once about a marriage prospect for one of their daughters and came back with a story about a rooster weighed down by an iron ball, in chains. That's a story for another day. I believe in divination, I consulted “wise people” in the old country. But in this tradition, not anyone and everyone can pick up a tool and start divining. Perhaps with tarot, especially “story tarot”, anyone can. (Although I don’t). There is familiarity perhaps with this story oriented big picture approach to divination, as it echoes the ancient tradition of my ancestors. I will think about it more and post a blog as a note to self to better archive my thoughts. Feel free to check out “Flowers & Ashes” on blogger if you are curious. UPDATE: I’ve moved on from tarot and all associated social media including the above blog have either been deleted or are currently on an indefinite hiatus.

I am very glad the creator moved away from a “witchy” centric approach to a more natural, cultural, and historical approach. There are more magic and substance in those, than in any commercialized witchcraft. There are more magic in those than in plastic spirituality filling modern tarot spaces of late. The witchy approach to tarot is the equivalent to empty calories as opposed to nutrition in spirituality and magic.

I miss winter in New York. The snow. The cold. The warmth radiating from a nifty looking pre-war gas heating. Coffee. Music. Writing. It is my happy place. I miss it terribly. Thank you for watching!

The best way is to contact Beehive Books and ask them about it. Perhaps even ask that the deck is checked before shipped. Sorry I can’t be of anymore help!
