Great guides. One thing to note is that when you're picking off the reflector and cube while flying through the air DO NOT SPAM CLICK to pick them up. This is tempting if you miss it the first time, but just means it's likely you'll grab it then immediately drop it, so it falls on the raised wall in the middle and you'll have to reset everything and start again from the beginning. I speak from experience (twice!) :P

My solution to grab the star the first time was to drop the box in the center courtyard and take the jammer over the fence to disable the energy wall... unfortunately i couldn't complete the remainder of the puzzle.

I'm surprised my technique for the 2nd star wasn't the intended one. I managed to find a way to place the cube on the fan platform while the fan was off. Use the connector to then power the fan. Because there is a bit of a delay before the fan gets powered, you have time to jump on the cube before the fan turns on. You will then be launched into the air while still standing on the cube allowing you to walk off of it in mid-air to get the star. This felt like the most obvious method, didn't think you'd actually have to collide with the cube. I wasn't even sure the physics would allow for my flight to be interrupted instead of just pushing away the cube.

That's how I solved it too, riding the box and jumping off it midair was nice and smooth. My very first attempt at solving this was actually to collide with the box, but I guess I didn't do it right because I collided with the box in such a weird way that it basically took me with it back to the other fan and so I thought I needed to change my methods. Relying on weird physics to solve it feels strange but I guess it was the intended solution after all.

I'm not slacker when it comes to puzzle games, but the solution to the 2nd star is ludicrous

These stars seriously took me about 10 hours, I got every other star in the game but couldn't figure out this one, didn't want to cheat but couldn't be fucked anymore. Can't believe you can do the whole thing without any objects from other levels, I feel like the dumbest shit now.

+RustingVagina Hahaha, don't feel too bad. I didn't do it the intended way my first time around either. Easily the most difficult star in the DLC and using other objects would be way more fun anyway.

Darn star! I was like 90% close to getting that middle star, but just couldn't figure out how to drop there. I was jumping like a ballerina from one side to another... So I shamefully admit that I had to appeal to your guide for help. I should have thought that box is there for something. Cheers!

Damn got everything but the box trick at the end.

I'm just bookmarking this for now. I managed to free the droid last night, but completely by accident. I was clambering about on top of the beams next to his enclosure, and when I tried to leap onto his roof I fell into the chamber with the switch for his gate!

Interesting intended solution. I smuggled out one connector from the upper puzzle room and solved it that way. The final "colliding with the box in the air" part reminded me of Portal 2 co-op. There was a very similar puzzle where you had to collide with the other bot in the air to reach the exit.

Nice to see it demonstrated! It took me ages to get that last star on my run.. I'd initially tried riding the box across and leaping off at the apex only to discover flying boxes don't work that way. I stumbled off at the other side, saw the box go flying back and realized the proper method. Interesting to know about taking the connectors over the fence using the box - dropping one while airborne was my way. Only one is needed at the podium if you align the beams well.

Cheers, mate! You're a life saver. These stars were, hands down, the biggest headache I've ever had playing a game.

That solution for the second star looks better than mine. I used two cubes (one from Bunnyhop) and exploited the weird water physics. You can make the cubes half-float on the surface if you place them well enough and make stepping stones towards the star. I 100% completed the DLC without guides a few minutes ago and it's fun seeing other solutions, thanks for the videos. :)

decino Hahaha, yeah, been doing this too. That's actually the first ever solution I tried. I was even doing it today during a Twitch stream. You can actually do it with one box. You place it on the ground against the wall and it will rise and float. You can ride it to the top if done right but it can be weird depending on graphics settings apparently.

Out of all the puzzles in the entire game this had to be the most difficult one. i bet the developer were LTTO when it came up the last bit accidentally jumped on the fan holding the box :@ then have to reset the whole thing again ****

Hehe, I saw someone make that mistake in a playthrough video... "Noooooooooooo!!!" Come to think of it, though, we jumped on fans while holding boxes all the time in the main game, so you should be able to carry it all the way across, and back?

This is amazing but I still really like my solotion. I got to the point where almost all connectors were on the right side (fan with red target). From there I activated the fan and grabbed the box. I blocked the laser with my body and placed the box, from there I ran to the box, jumped on it and flew on the box in the air. Midair I jumped off the box and landed on the platform with the star. I honestly thought that was the intended solution. This one is awesome too :) EDIT: I managed to this this completely without bringing the connectors to the rest of the map.

That’s the way I solved it too but I just held the laser then stood on the box and dropped it on the ground it did take a while for sure tho but this way is easier IMO. Best puzzle in the whole game by far

I used this video to solve the puzzle and get both stars. Man, it's so hard! I would have never done it on my own, so thank you. I also enjoyed the commentary, it made doing all the stuff a breeze.

Cheers for this, I kept messing up this level by dropping the connecters in the wrong place, so had to resort to KZread! Got all the other stars on my own so far...

Interesting to see the intended way :) I did it almost the same as you, but what I did was using the box next to the red beam and I placed the connector on top of the box. Then I jumped out and back down onto the actual wall the red beam is placed to, picked up the connector from the box and left it up there, right above the laser beam. That why, that connector was also slightly elevated, as it had to be :D

Absolutely insane. I found out that I needed to bring connectors to the other side, and managed to do it once (grabbed the one at the top midair), but just one wasn't enough. It seemed impossible to bring more, but apparently it's not!

A better and faster way is to use the connector in the middle (on top of the box and very high when powered with the red ray) to connect blue and reds (alternatively depending on use)? All you have to do is to get it up (using the red diode and a few connectors) and then go in the Bunny Hop area to generate the blue ray and link it to the centre and from there (use the fan + box to get high enough) you are in complete control and no need to grab the box and smuggle the items out or checking the levels of reds and blues to avoid interference. I have to change the ray's source in the Bunny Hop area from Blue then Red and then back to Blue again: 1st Fan (blue), 2nd Fan (Red) then Blue once both fans are in operation - it's all a lot simpler. I was convinced 100% my way was the intended one - in actual fact the "intended solution seems untidy, messy and plain cheating to me (are you really sure that's the proper way?). Beware - once the 2 ventilators I decide to jump in the airstream (without the box) - bad idea...you are practically trapped flying from one fan to the other (probably there is a way out). Update - the way above is great to get both ventilators running - but in order of being completely independent on the functionality of then both is neccessary to use both blue and red diodes on the Crater (not those from the Bunny Hop area). Then, you have 3 connectors to reach the red ventilator and 3 connectors for the blue. On the video I see a convoluted way of moving connectors from one side to the other - to start with we have 4 connector on one side and only 1 on the other (the one on top of the box is the sixth which should be used towards the end). I've moved one connector from one side to the other using the fan (at that stage I had 3 connectors on one side and 2 on the other). then I grabbed the 6th connector in mid air and then the box - with these is possible to take the connector outside and change the elevation placing it underwater (that's it, much simpler than in the video). The only external connector was the third required for the blue ray. The flying cycle of the box is about 12 seconds - so, jumping on the base of the fan at 6 seconds after the box gives a good chance to reach the top of the monument and then the star. Finally, flying on top of the box is possible to jump onto the circular column's structure to operate 2 switches on top of the colums...these stop the relative fan for 4 seconds (no idea why).

The first star on the ground, I got by backing up as far as I could outside the fence, jumping and getting the tiniest little peak of the force field and disabling it with a jammer, you have to move pretty far back but if you walk straight backwards from the part you are about to jam you can do it

At 3:29 there is an open switch on the left side stone; what is that for?

I've been looking on the internet and I can't seem to find it so I'm hoping you know. What do those frickin levers (like the ones at the end of every level) do. The two that you can see as you fly through the air, by the pillars, do you use them for stars? (I'm only really looking for hints not the full solution so I didn't watch the whole thing).

OMNOMNOMOTRON They're not for stars or for any secrets so I'm just going to tell you. They just shut down the fan on that side for five seconds. They're there just in case you get caught flying back and forth between the two fans, you can stop it by hitting the switch.

What is the purpose of the levers on pillars as you end your journey on for whichever fan you're riding? I assumed you had to press both levers in succession for some task.

They turn the fans off temporarily, so you can get off. If both fans are powered this is the only way to get out. In fact to get the second star you almost have to grab the box while only 1 fan is powered, otherwise you're forced to flip the lever while carrying the box, which risks you dropping the box outside the level and having to reset the entire level if you time it wrong 😢

On the topic of the stars, something I've been kind of confused about is why there's 16 when you only need 10 to get into the star world. Any idea if it's just a buffer so that you don't necessarily need them all or something?

***** Yeah, that's exactly what it is. Essentially giving the player a choice of which stars to get as different players will find different stars more challenging. They didn't want to lock the "true" ending behind 16 difficult stars and instead made it 10. A bunch changed in the development process apparently where it was 16 originally, but it's just a little breathing room now for someone who maybe got stuck and couldn't progress to the end, instead they can get another star.

What about the lever on the columns near both fans?? 😅

5:06 How do you grab a connector without it losing all the connections you made before? I always have to rearrange the connections.

+Vatian Hi! Under keybind options there is something called "Alternate Use" by default it is unbinded. I binded this to my right click. This enables you to pick up connectors without them losing their connections. Definitely comes in handy!

You can do something a bit more foolproof than trying to ram the box mid air; there are two switches on the stone overhangs over tha fan; each one disables their respective fan for a few seconds. So if the box is at the red fan, leave it there, jump across to the blue fan, then jump back to red - and hit the switch when you do so. Now, with the fan temporarily diaabled, quickly put the box on the fan pedestal and jump on top of it. Now you can backpedal off the box in mid air onto the star :D The switches are there do you dont get stuck bouncing between the fans

It switches off the fan for a few seconds so you can't get stuck bouncing between the fans forever.

There’s a way easier way you just stand on the box hold the laser then jump on box energize the fan drop the laser on the ground and jump off the box in the air onto the star. The intended way with taking the lasers out is pointless IMO you don’t need them outside the areas. Or both fans going.

I was suppose to collide with the box mid-air and fall down? Holy eff.. I tried litterally everything else like getting on the box before it launches, swimming with the box, trying to levitate myself in the air, trying to jump onto the stationary box while it hovers.... got the first crater star in maybe 20 min, then I spent probably 5 hours trying to get the last star before I checked this. Solved every other puzzle in the game but man that last star is rough.

that is way to hard.. I got all the other stars but no one would have thought of that

great vid now in hindsight i could have figured it out myself i was on my way but my brain got exhausted this game is so awesome i hope there is more in the future of this

Wow, I did not realize you could grab the connector (and cube) mid-air, which made the first star a lot harder. I did find a solution without using it however, so if anyone's looking for a challenge...

This is so much easier than my method, which involved using haircut to get another red beam into bunny hop allowing you to take a connector outside of the level, which I then used to make a Z-shaped connection actually passing through the star to get at the fan from the other side, relying on the raised platform to cross the beams..... which I really should have realized was unnecessary. Like, 12 more steps for almost the same solution, hinging on the same key point at least.

This one broke me lol x

I wonder how many time you say "this is the part where it gets interesting"

Yeah, I liked it a lot. I was stuck with the last bit, when you have to put the 2 receptors on different level in order to cross the streams. Great guide as always. May I encourage you to timestamp the puzzle in your guides on the level 1,2,3,4 playthrough like you did with ttp vanilla ? Anyway thanks and great job :D

I almost got the first star but got stuck on one part. No way would I have gotten the second star!

I destroyed a freakin mouse while doing this puzzle...

Man, that's not remotely what I did... And yet the puzzle still worked and was fair. I don't know how they designed them. My first step after turning on the fan was to drop two reflectors midair, and run a red laser outside the gates and to the left so I could keep the box fan going with 2 parts instead of 3. Then grab the center reflector... Then some fuckery with redistributing stuff that I don't remember. To get the center star, I had to grab and place the box in front of my own path so it would land on the fan precisely. I had to do the whole puzzle twice because of losing it outside the gate.

Figured it out . It disables the fan for a couple of seconds just in case you get stuck between the two fans
