Shepherd's an absolute bro

This final puzzle with a great soundtrack and culminative story telling is more epic than many boss fights in other games.

Not only that but for whatever reason the game is very buggy in this section. Every other elevator glitched out for me and caused me to restart. That and the timer with the puzzles really soured this section. Bad design choice by the devs.

Whoever designed this level is a genius. Also, Samsara is a bitch.

I remember the last floor, when you have to lower the elevator, I have searched so complex solutions before realizing it.. I was thinking... ok, this is the last floor, it must be a 500iq riddle ...

omg, i didn't get this ending, the fan shot me into the sky and then the game crashed to desktop with a bug report, the way the game was going i thought that was a joke ending for climbing the tower lol :D

Thanks, after several attempts where the only thing I could do is wait for the whole level to be reset this is just what I need. I like doing these puzzles but I like having a normal amount of time for them without having to start all over again

Now I understand the hype. This ending is truly spectacular - even though the final puzzle isn't that difficult, its still one of the most intense levels I've ever played. Forging on even as Elohim implores you to stop, seeing the storm coming, cooperating with the other AI's to do that which no single one could. And then payoff is a plot twist of sorts, but it makes perfect sense. Elohim was telling the truth the entire time - the whole world was a training ground, a simulation to create an artificial mind capable of making free choices and worthy being embodied in the real world. And once that task is accomplished - everything in the simulation ends. And that includes the player - a copy of that AI gets uploaded to a body in the real world, but the original is tied to the simulation.

I cannot get Shepherd to get on that damn elevator. He just sits there.

You can actually beat the game with no help from that final Shephard. I never even realized it was even an option to use his help. I did everything myself and it's a crazy race against the storm, but it's certainly possible. And now I find out I could have just gotten the Shephard to do all the work!!

Wait, in order to beat without help you need to find a narrow hidden jumping platform and make a very difficult jump. So you're telling me you found it before you realized you could connect the blue laser? You sure think outside the box.

@@PericlesCarvalho well actually, you do need to connect the blue laser in order to blow the Shephard over to the other side so that he can stand on the floor switch. But everything else after that can be done alone.

@@matthewnaylor5894 actually, everything can be done alone from the start. As I said, there's a hidden platform on the first layer that you can jump in order to get going without releasing Shepard. I thought you had discovered it on you first run, that's why I was surprised. But even doing the rest without help is quite impressive for you first run. Congratulations!

I also beat it this way my first time through! I came looking up a solution because I felt certain that it couldn't have been intended to be as complicated as I made it. I ended up bringing an extra jammer, connector, and box all up to the final floor, but only needed the connector in the end. Crazy to see that the intended solution didn't involve "stealing" anything from the previous floors. I did have a ton of fun coming up with the pathing to get it to work, though!

That ELOHIM guy just doesn't know when to shut up.

Apparently Samsara blocking your path by lifting bridges etc was an attempt to stop you, not to help you by ensuring you stay on the right path. Would've been good to figure that out earlier so locking her up made sense to me at the time and not only after reading a youtube video description.

The Talos Principle is a flawless game start to finish, False God is a sublime track to hear while being chastised by the World's God, Sepherd is a hero, Samsara is a bitch.

Thank you for this, I loved the game up to this puzzle but the timed nature really sucked. Especially the timing for locking Samsara.

Nice Stanley Parable vibes to add onto the Portal vibes and... Enslaved: Journey To The West vibes, I guess.

Oh man, Im really confused right now. On the last floor I found dead The Shepherd in the elevator. I thought that was intended.

Maybe while he was waiting for you to send the elevator down, the floor he was on got consumed by the storm.

IMO this final puzzle was just misleading and buggy. Having to restart over and over again was frustrating af, you pretty much need to either guess some wrong steps you did 'cause Shepherd won't move (even if there's nothing blocking his way) or you'll need to break the game and do everything on your own (and die 1000 times in the process). In that part when Samsara lifts the bridge, If you simply take a few steps back they'll hop out of the button and you'll be able to cross the bridge, which made me not for the hell of me figure out that I needed to head to Shepherd's side before doing the red laser puzzle, and if I went there later, Shepherd would just stare at my face and do shit. Great game but this Tower puzzle was a big "NO" for me.

Agreed, this was just sloppy design. I tried exactly the same thing and couldn't for the life of me figure out why he wouldn't move.

Something weird happened on my current replay. I got The Sheppard across like at 2:00, but was able to cross the bridge without the fan at 2:21 and broke the sequence.

Omg I forgot about Shepard. I rage quitted. I only saw that he's there where I was stuck. Going to try again to figure this out lol. Might make it far less impossible

ohh so thats how it actually works! i did it by triggering the robot to activate the bridge while standing on the edge of it end then gettin catapulted to the gate fast enough before he got back to the other pressure plate :D

this shit is so buggy. Sometimes the shepard just doesnt move and you cant continue the last part.

This is my second playthrough and just like last time, I can't get Shepherd to get on that damn elevator at 5:25. He just stands there and does nothing. I've tried it 4 times now.

now I understand what I did wrong, at: 1:50 I literally broke the game by passing the bridge (if you go back and forth samsara stops blocking the bridge, but it looked natural so I thought it was meant to be like that). Now I understand why the Shepherd is not moving at all even though I finished the puzzle

Wow I finished this puzzle without Shepard helping me. I thought I had to do everything after he jumped across and lowered the bridge

Oh Samsara isn't there to help us? Now I know how I failed the first time.

somehow, Shephard stayd on the platform controling the bridge and I did it without him. I had to be really quick racing with the collapse of the world and in the end I had to trick it by connectig the last crystal to one from the lower level and I was able to finish it this way. But it seem kinda weird as I couldn´t loose one second in this siolution and had to go through it like 100 times so I went to check if it was indeed the good solution

You can do the whole puzzle fully solo in a multitude of ways. It's a fun challenge to try to figure it out and, when succeeding, it's fun to see how other people did it and maybe try to optimize the run.

Can anyone else not make out what's going on at 4:33 or what you're even trying to do? What is causing the bridge to flip up? Why does the robot run towards the bridge only when it flips up? And why is there even a robot over there? He doesn't seem to have anything to do with this section. This is the only time in the game that I had to look something up because I was so confused and couldn't see what was happening out there.

He's trapping Samsara because it plays against you

I just beat this but I did it the hardest way possible, without the help of the robots except for the first laser section and the bridges, it was so fucking hard to do. Basically you had to do everything perfect and as fast as possible you just barley have enough time

She gets blown back into the box for a second but then immediately runs to where she was before. So to lock her behind the barrier, you have like 1 second or so to unjam it by grabbing the jammer again immediately after activating all the lasers and setting the connector down.

I lower the elevator and The Shepard won't get in it!!!

@@selfimprovement8531 Irrelevant, I replayed twice and it made no difference. He's standing on the side of the elevator and just refuses to walk in. Both he and Samsara bugged out in so many places the design is awful.

Thank you, I couldn't be bothered replaying the level over and over again while getting increasingly stressed. Not something that makes games fun for me 🤷🏻

Agree. It's epic-looking and beautiful, but some things just did not work well. I ended up giving up on playing and just finishing the chore this level became.

Seriously? A glitch after all. Either that or because I didn't go in the right order. Heading towards Shepard after he lowers the bridge instead of solving puzzle. It can't be that cheap. I gotta find out after rage quitting second time lol After going directly to Shepard, with staff, he'll move. Not any other time. Wtf...... Game really is that stupid wow..

excatly. Shephard stayed there and I had to do it without him. I even bring him there a cube, thinking he might use it not to stand on the platform but he did nothing. So I thought I am on my own and had to finish it without him. It was near impossible but I did it
