The Talos Principle All Easter Eggs And Secrets | Part 1
Ойындар
Collection of All Easter Eggs, Secrets, References and Interesting stuff found in The Talos Principle with full guide: Episode 1 / Part 1.
This is a re-edited version of The Talos Principle I uploaded last night that was taken down due to unknown copyright infrigment. Hopefully this time it's all good!
The Talos Principle is a 3D puzzle game, seen in first persion (or third person) view, much like the Portal series (which is referenced multiple times throughout the game!)
There are way too many Easter Eggs, so I decided to split it into two parts (episodes) rather than making one long video.
The Road To Gehenna DLC will be a third video (episode) in this serie

I apologize for the reupload, but I had to re-edit the video due to some random copyright claim, hopefully it's fine now. I also put 5 my own Easter Eggs in the video! Have a great day, everybody!

No, it did very well, actually. Majority of us humans simply don't appreciate intellectual entertainment (or anything intellectual, really). I personally find this game to be the best game released to date but I'm too old to believe even for a second most of other would agree with me on this. None of my top-5 games are big among the general public. On the contrary - general public finds them bad and it's perfectly natural. So I'm glad they even exist and there is enough demand for the new ones to be developed now and then. It could easily not be that way.

Simply amazing! Indeed a masterpiece
what i love about this easter eggs is that they can be perfectly canon in universe, alexandra was a fan of pink floyd so she left a reference of her favorite song, maybe a guy in the team was a fan of serious sam so he left a bunch of serious sam reference, the in world developers were also geeks and wanted to left something they loved in their digital refuge
10:50 The timing of the music and zooming in on Wheatley makes him seem like an evil mastermind. Comedy gold lol
7:48 That was actually a reference to the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Phillip K. Dick, which is what Blade Runner is based off of. 19:25 And that is a reference to the ending of Planet of The Apes(1968). 20:35 A reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, specifically the space docking scene(the one right after act 1 - Dawn of Mankind.) 21:48 A possible reference to Duke Nukem.

20:39 was a reference to the game ELITE (deliberately misspelled at the top of the screen for copyright reasons I would guess) which used the music from ‘The Blue Danube’ by Strauss (the music which, as you pointed out, was used in the docking sequence of 2001) during the docking sequence of their game as a tribute to the film. So this sequence is a tribute within a tribute.

and in the reflection of the mirror, our character has sunglasses, which also made me think about Duke nukem, probably one of the first and most iconic mirror in video games (and he has sunglasses)
Seeing this gives me so much more respect to the devs. This game has so much to offer
I had NO idea of any of these. I finished the game with all three different endings without ever having noticed a single easter egg. It amazes me there are people who found out these things... or did someone just reverse engineer the game? Hmmm :) We'll never know. But thanks for showing AND explaining them!

20:39 Love the reference to the game ELITE, the best computer game of the 80’s.
Nice Easter Egg in the upper left corner at 22:26 ;)
i love how the devs put all these easter eggs in for those who like to explore...can't wait for the second game to come out

Also, the music and guitar riff is very much like something David Gilmour would play.
Mindblowing game for real. 4:39 is more a reference to "the infinite monkey theorem". great video btw
very well made compilation. Bravo :) (I only knew three of these beforehand, really enjoyed it)
Awesome References!
8:29 Reference to the book called "Do androids dream of electric sheep?". The movie "blade runner" is a loosely adapted from this book.
The loud coughing and crying in the theater audience was just too perfect
How foolish of me to think that I saw most of the easter eggs in the game! It turns out I didn't even see the best and the most important ones... It's crazy the devs have put incredible effort in easter eggs. I admire this game, one more time...
So cool! I loved my first experience of this game. Will play 2 someday.

real cool qrs bottled, now thats cool!
20:40 cool, reference to Strauss, "Blue Danube".
20:25 hahahaha the 'kamikaze' trophy is empty because the kamikaze enemies in serious sam are headless. excellent
6:28 is also a reference to the Serious Engine's "Trigger" event map marker. They use the same Object to setup Map Events. Though, it's usually invisible.
Incredible. I thought I knew the game, but I know only 2 of this Easter Eggs...
In C3 (Weathertop puzzle) there is an alien from Serious Sam hanging off the cliff at the end opposite the entrance. It falls off as you get near and says something about flying.
@gloverelaxis

it says "Fly, you fools", a line Gandalf says in Lord of the Rings
This game has so many secrets I ended up luckily finding many on my own, to my surprise. I remember finding the pink floyd one, the hanging gnaar, ford parker's room, both snowmen (tho i didnt trigger the music), 2 out of 3 telescopes (in B-5 and C-2) but none of the keys, and the minecraft sword but not its related QR code. I think I also found the developers' pictures and the glitched room, though I could have seen those two in a video beforehand and not remember.

And here I thought I have done it all and there was so much more to see. Idk how anybody apart from developers finds this stuff
I'm amazed by this game
brilliant
Wow that fan in B-2 to see the 2nd part of the moon Easter egg has to be the most random thing I've ever seen. It's practically impossible to land on that ledge. Ok I finally made it and looked through the viewer but there's no Wheatley. I resetted it and did it fast enough that I was at the viewer and looking at the moon just as the special music was starting, and Wheatley never appeared.

I managed to land on the ledge (at first I managed to get out of the puzzle area). I was convinced it was the way to get the star. It wasn’t of course. I just got to that binocular thing without the key, which I never found. So the only Easter Egg I stumbled upon was pretty much the worst, and I left it without a clue of what all that was about. I’m relieved, after finishing the game, to have found the answer in this video. :)
16:40 That easter egg can be reached without bringing anything out. There are a parkour path and a fan provided up there. I found the easter egg because I accidentally saw the fan on the parkour paths and teleport above the spawn island from a distance. I can't believe I found it by myself.
amazing
WTF?! has an alien back there 8:43
I was so proud that I found a few of these but now I realize there are so many, I didn't even scratch the surface yet! I'll wait to spoiler myself after I've played through it entirely though. (Not like there's a way I'd ever find them all - I've already spent sooo many hours looking around) Some of them made me so hopeful I'd found a star and then I was like - wtf is going on? Glad I found an easteregg but where is my reward please? 😂
Wow. I got to the Pink Floyd Easter egg a different way. I did parkour across the map to make it over to the launching fan. I didn’t use a block. Certainly makes the Easter egg easier to complete. I’m proud of myself though cause I found it myself.

11:28 The way that minecraft blocks are set are probably a reference to the concept of a Supertask

7:54 Counting Sheep Dream - forgot to mention this is a Phillip K. Dick reference, from the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" which inspired the film Blade Runner.

The counting sheep is a Blade Runner reference. The original novel's title was "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep".
"do androids dream of electric sheep" god love this game
U R REAL EASTER EGG HUNTER AUTO SUB
And the question is forever answered: Yes, androids _do_ dream of electric sheep.
8:30 This is probably a reference for "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" aka bladerunner
The best of best
06:25 is probably a reference to a line in the Heavy Weapons Guy short from TF2 made by Valve
I should've freaking known that red verbiage was papers please! I was so caught up in getting the stars that I let it go once I knew it was irrelevant
That mirror freaked me out when chopped down every tree in the chapter
cool video dude
The easter egg of Counting the sheep is also a reference to the work of Philip Dick: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which was the origin of the Blade Runner movie. The player is a robot and the sheep with electric current and all that stuff.
That first box in the room with the cat is from Doom. The UCA series.
10:53 well glad to know he's at least still alive
Nice vid.
There is no way a fan found all this… must be part of development!!!!
the dont look up one made me laugh
8:41 Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? Philip K Dick. Great Easter egg!
I think it should have been worth noting that the ability to sleep and the sheep was a reference to “Do androids dream of electric sheep?”

Great video. The captions are really good to understand the context of some of those. Also, the music you can hear during the Pink Floyd easter egg mimics the opening to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", a Pink Floyd song that is not on The Dark Side Of The Moon, but features a signature sound is easy to recognise. Finally, the sheep one is an obvious reference to Philip K Dick's novella "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?", which is the inspiration for Blade Runner.
The kittens 😭😭😭♥️
I can very well understand all those serious sam references. IT~s their IP so easy to reuse. And Serious Sam is a super fun and popular game that made Croteam what it is today. Just like what Doom did with Id Software.
On one of the pillars on Developer Island, one of the avatars is a QR code. If you scan it with a phone, it says "Manliest man alive. Have some free mouthwash, free shampoo and free shower curtains for decoding this.".
Do you think the counting sheep is a reference to Bladerunners original title: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
