trying to separate the seasons is why we don't have mx in florida anymore. gainsville used to be paired with daytona sx. mx season (according to davey coombs on another gypsy tales ep) isn't in FL anymore b/c it's too hot and humid in the summer.

I like that idea, actually one of the best ideas I’ve heard in recent years. Despite it being an old idea. Lol Having nationals in between the Supercross series is how we did it back in my pro days. The benefit would be you could have some of those hot nationals during the cooler times of the years. And it would give the riders a break from the monotony of the same same thing every week.

Everyone says AZ is a dry heat, so flordia is hotter, but FL has 3x the population of AZ. FL had 84 heat deaths in 2023 vs 645 in AZ. That's the difference. I wish we could have a national track in AZ, but it just couldn't happen

@@mikemunshower8963 yes, I ride there a lot of weekends and I love it. I don't believe it's nearly big enough and doesn't have the facilities to support a full pro national though. Need a whole lot more parking for one. The entire parking space at ACP is about the size of the pits alone at an outdoor national. I watched chance hymas do a 55s lap time as an amateur on the national track at ACP too. Track needs to be like 2.5x that length. It's great as an amateur track, but couldn't be pro race

a very small Camelback type thing with just a few ounces for a rinse and spit 15 or 20 minutes in to clear the dirt out and a few swallows to wet. The whistle would not make any difference in weight. But yeah, Its just not something most of us considered needed for a 35 minute Moto.

@@nickhowser7262 1 liter of ice water is only about 2.2lbs. So call it 3 lbs with the pack itself and the water. I feel like it could be worth adding a 3lb fanny pack to be able to have cold water throughout a moto 🤷‍♂️ the more you drink, the more the weight of the pack reduces.

Great idea to mix SX and MX but factories won’t go for it. Setup on a MX bike and SX bike is dramatically different and going from one to the other week after week would be a challenge they don’t want. Would be very hard to be consistent week to week.

Two 30 minute motos on those gnarly outdoor tracks is almost inhuman considering the pace the top guys set. It’s hard to go 2 - 4 laps at that pace / max effort for your average rider. I mean, it’s hard to even get around those tracks with the ruts.

The Outdoors is where it's at... for all the reasons that Austin mentioned. SX is about finess. Outdoors is about who is the meanest strongest mother out there. Don't care for most of Jase's comments regarding changes to the series. He would rather we get rid privateers and only have a few riders on the gate, more like F1 which would kill the sport in the US.

Not that it’s a bad thing, or that Austin doesn’t need it and I could be totally wrong here, but I bet Austin is prescribed Adderall or some type of stimulant. Mood is elevated, pupils are dilated, and he’s kind of chatterbox in this podcast. I’m not knocking him either!! Everyone busting his balls about saying “like” so much and the way he’s chatty in this vid is probably due to the meds. He’s typically not that chatty but who knows! I could be totally wrong!
