The Strayaway Child Jig is a 6-part Trad Irish tune played composed by Michael Gorman. This Em tune comes from the Sligo area of Ireland, and it can be heard in many Trad Irish fiddle sessions. Kevin Burke does a great job teaching this tune, and you’ll have it up to speed in no time.

    It's really disappointing that in their more recent videos Fiddlevideo started cutting short the tunes before they are finished. This tune in particular has six parts, and it would have been very nice to hear what Kevin did with them. If they are afraid of someone stealing their intellectual property, well all of these tunes are available elsewhere on KZread and many other places. But being able to hear the whole tune in a straightforward solo setting gave me a reason to come to this channel, and with the newer videos I don't have that any more. :-(

    Hi, Hummingfrog. Thanks for your perspective. When we launched the project, we did indeed include full performances of each lesson. However since that time, KZread has enabled a video speed function which allows anyone to slow down each of the videos. This is the reason we have chosen to only provide a sample of each performance video...as our channel description indicates. We will still occasionally continue to publish full performance videos, but that will be the exception rather than the norm. All the best to you.
