Love to see the 62 after it’s finished. A build video on it would have been awesome. 👍😀👉🇺🇸
"The '62 is a little different animal than the '59"! No doubt! Love seeing these old Impalas resurrected. Seems like everyone used to have one back in the day, alot of those people wish they still had them! At least that's what they tell me when they see my '65. Keep up the great work!

Actually in 1960 bucket seats came in the Chevrolet Corvair Monza coupe. So The 1960 Corvair Monza coupe was the first Chevrolet to get bucket seats! In 1961 Chevrolet started offering the sedan in top tier Monza trim as well (the Monza sedans for 61/62 offered cloth benches or buckets! Both my 61 and 62 Monza sedans have factory bucket seats! I'm glad you saved that '62 SS vert from the junkyard! Glad to hear 2 Impalas got saved!
Great video and thanks for help to keep these classics on the road. So they may be enjoyed for future generations!!!!

Hey Ryan, another great SAVE. In my part of the country these finds simply don't exist. It will take hundreds of hours and a boat load of cash to properly restore this '62 but kudos to the new owner who is tackling this. It looks to have most important parts in tact sans the interior. Most all of the sheetmetal is available. The convertible rockers are unique and have very heavy gauge steel. I rebuilt a set on my '67 Camaro Conv and it was a major undertaking. If that '59 Impala was your trade in the deal then I think you did very well. Thanks for saving, much respect.

A lot of work there
Man that yard look liked it had quite a few goodies in it ,& that 59 You traded for looks way better ! the 1st Chevrolet to have bucket seats standard was 1960 mid year Corvair Monza coupe & latter 1961 Monza 4 door With a optional 4 speed, of course the Monza was a optional model & of course the Corvette was 1st being a sports car . Thanks for the video.

Ryan, I wish I could have kept all the cars I swapped, traded, parted back in the Mid to late 70's. I may have pictures somewhere. It included a 62 Impala wagon, 64 Impala SS Htp. and a 64 Chevelle convertible. Living in town, it just wasn't possible.

U got the better deal
I would love to see a follow up on that 62. Back in the early 80's, a friend bought a 61 Impala SS convertible, 348 4 speed car..... thats one ultra rare car.... I think less than 500 were made. We didn't know that in the early 80's though.... it was considered just an old broken down car back then, that no one wanted. I think he paid five hundred dollars for it. I thought at the time, he got ripped off, as it was not in that great of condition. I got that car running and driving for him.... it had a bad clutch, thats why it was parked. The old man he bought it from, bought it new. When he stopped driving it, it just sat in his yard, sinking into the ground. My friend sold that car in the mid 90's for close to $100,000.....(he paid off his house with that sale). and it needed a total restoration. It did run and drive.... good at that. The buyer was a big shot car collector, and had it restored to it's original glory. I'll have to hunt around to see if I can find photos of it. It was red on red, with a white top.

What engine was in the ‘62 SS? 283? Doesn’t matter if the top was up or down if it’s been sitting that long. It was gonna disintegrate eventually anyway. Is all the glass missing on the ‘59? Best of luck to you and your friend! I hope you guys bring both cars back. 👍

I gave a thumbs up, but didn't want to because you never told us what you paid for the car! Why not? It's not like it should be some secret, as we all know what they sell for in good running condition. So, are you going to tell us? If not, why?
