1959 Impala RESCUED From a Junkyard In Kansas + Other EPIC Finds! (Old Car Rescue + Travel VLOG)
Traveling is a huge part of what I do in order to save these old cars, the days of finding rusty iron sitting in my neighborhood is long gone, so I now must go to other states and branch out in order to find cars to bring home and rescue. Today, we head to Kansas where we walked through two classic car salvage yards in the hopes of finding a car to buy and rescue, and on our second junkyard stop, I found a 1959 Chevy impala 4door that was pretty stripped, but still worth bringing home. In addition, I stopped at a friend's house in order to pick up some rare parts, and we get to look at his collection of Chevys and a rare rambler station wagon with a v8 and factory AC.
Thanks for watching!

You gotta love the 59s. My first car was a 63 rambler classic it had a 6 but my buddy had a 70 rebel machine that he totalled so I stuck the 401 4 speed out of it into my classic. Lucky I got the rear end too cause it didn’t take long to blow up the original lol. Stay safe Ryan from all those damned tornados.

How far were you from Pella,Iowa? I was out the at Doug's 4wheelers last April. I located after a year complete interior console ,shiftet and 67 end of fender clearance lights, all correct year all on one buy. Alot of$$ but I didn't want 85 Cutlass velour buckets or Dodge van seats. Well worth the price. Diamonds in the rough!

Even from the factory those cars weren't perfect. I had a '66 Pontiac Bonneville convertible and the left side door had 2 shims in it and the passenger side had 3. If it didn't line up shim it. Glad your ok with the Tornado. Scary stuff. Great video. More junkyard videos. Please.

Nice catch Ryan! The 1959's are still out there, this one has so many bits of trim and more to give. Yes, those storms can get pretty creepy this time of year, glad they left you alone. Hopefully the 1970 Oldsmobile finds a good home, especially with 4 nice wheel covers now! I really hope the Rambler and 1966 Chevy will be back on the road. All those pine needles cannot be doing the car any good! Thanks for another well put together adventure. That town looked eerily devoid of people. Very sad to see.

That is a 1962 Rambler Ambassador wagon. Rambler Classic had the round tail light. The Ambassador had the split wrap under tail light. They tagged all of the station wagons Cross Country. V8 , factory air , automatic, p/s , p/b. Good car to make a patina cruiser. Good find.

Hey at 70 Oldsmobile might not be anything super particular but then I survivor and with how the car market is now who knows in a few years 10 years those cars could be various hot after people use a scoff at four doors and a lot of cars that are being snatched up now or the four doors that nobody wanted realizing that some of them you could actually do a two-door conversion on fairly easy build yourself a clone of the car that you can't afford to build or buy. Keep it up absolutely love all the stuff you do it's great to see a younger generation keep in the hobby alive and you're doing more to keep it alive than a lot of people.

Cool vid Ryan, glad you guys made it through storms ok. Enjoyed the tech tip, possibility on the trim clips - maybe different production facilities used different quantities of retainers, or perhaps a piece of trim was added where to a base fender? Barn looking good, you got your work stations laid out yet(LOL)?

From what you have shown us so far Ryan, that '59 ain't that bad, seen worse baskets of rust in your videos already. Interesting someone took precisely the center rear Chevy emblem and the fake air outlet from it. And you got profesional loading help this time too, no manouvering with a winch around the corner of the ramp like in one of prev. vids :) Cool to hear it is an early production '59, found some changes in it that might have happened over a course of model year ? Also imagine ordering an air-conditioned , power-everything Rambler back in '63, the dealer must have been happy !

This car isn't being rescued anymore than a person being dug up a few months after they've died is being rescued, but - as you say - there are usable parts. When you live on a farm, you can buy stuff like this because you have the space to put it somewhere, but if you live in the city...it doesn't really work. In this sense, living in the city is kind of a blessing in disguise.

@@IowaClassicCars Thank you so much, if you ever run across any parts or pieces for a 59 Oldsmobile I would be interested. Thanks
The blue 59 got my attention. I have one same color blue much more complete interior the exterior is blue not rust. Oh forgive me patina haha. The exterior is more complete and has the better looking Bel Air trim on it. If if you're interested because you don't see like 59s comment me back. Been in the family 40 years. No engine. No hood. I like the olds that you're selling comment me back let me know a price. You like the early Oldsmobiles I got a 1950 2 door post. We take it to local car shows. Sold my dad 59 wagon Brookwood a little while back. Clearing things out. Since they've not set out in Kansas heat the interiors are much better. And for the most part the half a dozen Chevy wagons we got from the early 60s back on to try fives a fairly complete. We did not sell parts off of them. Yeah I'm trying to sell you a couple of cars you could definitely make a show but I wouldn't want the locations disclosed. By the way closer to where you film this I know a guy has several early Oldsmobiles builder and parts qualities two doors. His stuff is for sale too He's getting older. If I was going to launch KZread channel, I would do it this guy has the first episode because he's a hellacious old time card builder. Unfortunately time has forgotten him. Has plenty of stories. Be glad to pass the information on I just don't want to put it out there for public view. I like your approach to your channel. By the way you can Google my name and it'll take you to 5 other guys I put that out there first curious people who are reading this. I thought about using John Jones but that's just too obviously fake name. Anyway if none of this interest you or if it does thank you for reading. Oh yeah how about a 99% complete 1916 Impala four door hardtop with the rear roof shelf extending me on the back window 70,000 original miles that showing a little age from setting. But still has the original City window sticker from the older couple that bought it brand new and owned it until I bought it. It'd be surprised how long we've owned these cars. They're pieces of histories and I like see somebody with them. Thank you I really like your channel
