Yesenia had a starring role in Ukraine's independence celebrations in 2021, striding through 1,000 years of the country's history in a video filmed on Kyiv's main Khreschatyk Street. One year later, RFE/RL spoke to the 11-year-old about her experiences of war and evacuation.

Not when they have just enslaved themselves with the debt trap they have just been got themselves in with the lend lease for weapons and the unplayable debts for rebuilding with western companies and huge business conglomerates. Even when Ukraine wins, their people will be broke and unable to recover for generations to come and the salaries of the common person will be so low ensuring that they won’t be a prosperous nation for any time soon. The west is taking advantage of Ukraine and Zelenskyy is signing away his people’s future for his personal gain. The rich will get richer from this and the common man will get poorer and it will turn in to an oligarchy once again. The situation isn’t looking too great for the Ukrainian people but at least they can be free under their own oligarchy instead of a Russian one

But ukrainians, after 2014 coup, is brainwashed - they glory for guys as "SS Galicia" despite their crime "Volyn massacre". This is outraged from point of Donbas and Crimea. And, this is main reason for their attempts to separate. In answer, ukrainian side does shelling them from mortars and artillery, since 2014. Many of Donbas kids, adults, and olders turned into shreds. But, mainstream media journalists is scared to show something that don't corresponding to the mainstream ) This is a crisis of journalism. There are brave alone journalists, who trying to show uncomfortable true, despite the pressure on them on their homelands. Their names are: Phillips Graham, Anna Laure Bonnel, Patrick Lancaster, Alina Lippe. You can found their channels on the KZread (and, probably, on the Telegram)

This was beautiful. It struck my heart and soul when you caught the face of honourable Zelenskyy as he watched the young girl with flowers run through the street and under the flag and through history actors. Ukraine has to win! We must continue to support them in any way we can with whatever we have to offer. Glory to Independence day from Eastern Canada with love and monthly donations.

The problem is that anti-air systems with the capacity are very expensive, most countries have few of them and are hesitant to send them away, and on top of that some of the most advanced European and American systems like AMRAAM could both propel Russian missile technology ahead by a decade if captured, but also potentially allow them to develop some countermeasure that could expose not only Ukraine but key cities like London and Washington should NATO ever get involved more directly. The sad reality is that Russia will likely run out of precision missiles before the UAF have received enough capable SAM systems to protect all of Ukraine at the same time. Most Western SAM aid will remain MANPADS with some interspersed older SAM vehicles. Ukraine will receive eight modern Norwegian NASAMS anti-missile systems as part of the new aid package the Americans are funding, but, well, there’s eight of them, and they only have a range of 30 kilometers. That’s gonna be a lot of unprotected towns inbetween.

I'm curious about 2 things. Why did Darya Dugina's father on the last minute decide not to travel with her, and how come, given that her car went up in flames, there were no visible signs of burn marks on her head as she lay in the coffin. Perhaps the explosion somehow threw her from the blazing car, but then one would have expected visible injuries, and perhaps there was a very legitimate reason for her father not travelling with her. Something for those who can investigate

The EU is a complicated economic and political partnership, not a club you can just join over night. We already accepted Ukraine as a candidate, now they will have to do the work before they can eventually join. After seeing their determination in this war, I'm convinced they'll be able to do it in record time.
