Daniel, had Addamo 3-bet instead to around 22K, what line do you see yourself taking? Do you still 4-bet knowing Addamo’s 3-bet range is wide, just Call, or possibly fold so you don’t get caught in a squeeze from Foxen?

  • @DStansb

Didn’t he say Addamo typically only 3-bets his stronger range? In this case I assume he would be more likely to fold

Great question! I think calling is the worst of the three options and you should mix folding and 4-betting this hand. You really don't want to ever be cold calling a 3-bet very often, it's rarely the best play available. I would lean more towards a 4-bet for the same reasons I chose to squeeze.

@@DStansb He said the opposite: "Addamo 3-bets wide here". That means Addamo is going to 3-bet both strong and weaker hands, but when he just flats its most often a middling hand just like the 33 he has here.

@@DStansb No, Addamo’s 3-Bet range is pretty wide in that situation from a button raiser and in the blinds out of position after the flop.

In the olden times, "squeeze" meant something different. Suppose you're playing (single) draw. (That used to be a thing.) You are first to act after the draw, three-way. Maybe second-to-act had raised pre-draw. Third to act had flatted as did you. Third-to-act drew one. After the draw, you bet out. Second to act is _squeezed._ He must beware not only of you, but also that third-to-act filled his draw. In a perfect world, second-to-act folds a better hand than yours, and third-to-act folds because he missed.

Because addamo's 3bet range is pretty wide, how much does this cap his range here? Is this one downside to having such a wide 3betting range in this spot( making his range extremely capped)? And if it doesn't cap his range that much, what's another hand a player with his 3bet frequency (SB vs button raise) would flat call with?

  • @bradleymcfarland9906

Yes Addamo is capped beyond belief when he doesn't 3b the SB here, basically never has a top 5% probably not even a top 8-10% hand almost ever

I wrote that 10 months ago lol, but love your feedback. I was wondering in this spot later in the tourney, say last Coyle tables or even the final table. Does he even protect his calling range that much? I'd think then no KJ, no JT, no A- wheel suited......I would guess his calling range is much more capped. Maybe even limited to suited connectors and small pairs. What do you think?
