    I am 83 and an ex marine and police scenes of crime officer and not a big softy. This song has always been my favourite.This beautiful rendition is so moving it moved me to tears. Absolutely magnificent! Walter.

    From this old USMC vet, our brothers and sisters in the Royal Marine band does Britain and military personnel around the world proud. This is a great song and your rendition is magical.     I was in the US Army Band 1975-77. I had to listen to this thrice to try to be clinical without emotional influence. But each time my emotions grew more intense. The lyrics and voices of the low baritone and Alto singers in harmony were so powerful and nostalgic for me. It just blew my mind. Thank you.

    I don't know how you could listen to this and not be emotional. BdLCpl Sam McIndoe has the voice of an angel and Musn George Gessing has a command of the low end of the register that makes the foundations of the Earth tremble. These two sang an arrangement of I Vow to Thee My Country a few years ago that brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it.

    My late dad was a drummer and bugler in the Royal Marine band back in the 1950s and 60s. I wonder what he would have thought of their military version of this song (he was a Simon and Garfunkel fan). Personally I absolutely love it.

    One of my favorite songs, and a great arrangement. They way they both transition from melody to harmony and back is fantastic. Not often you hear a female singer singing a lower part than an male singer. The did an amazing job on this!

    Wow. As a huge fan of the Disturbed version of this song, I love the way they took their version, added little bits of the original, and then built on it. Nobody can match David Dreiman’s incredible vocal, but this manages to bring the goosebumps too.

    During the lock down restrictions, 7 of my immediate family passed. In October 2023 my next to youngest brothers suddenly passed. Yet, I still find the strength to ' Walk On ' Huge THANKYOU Mark Knopfler For Your Music. 💪👏👏👏

    Fantastic, my late father was a Royal Marine bandsman in the 1950's. He used to take me every year to see the RM band at Sheffield city hall. Great memories and this brings it all back.

    @@d283jdsk2 They very much are operational personnel, who specialize in medical/communication/Logistics/CBRN Decon roles and do deploy in those roles routinely, the singer here for example Band Lance Corporal Sam Mclndoe (now Band Corporal) is a veteran of Afghanistan (left medal is the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan), the director has the General Service Medal (Likely for Northern Ireland) and the Iraq Medal, the RMBS have deployed on all major military operations and conflicts since the Great War, WW1, WW2, Korean War, Suez Crisis, Falklands, Iraq (Both Times) all major NATO actions Britain has been involved in and Afghanistan are just the ones of the top of my head I can think off, in WW2 a quarter of the whole RMBS had been Killed-in-Action by the end of the war the largest percentage of any branch of any service in the His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

    I was going to say your service members are on par with the best troops in the world 🇺🇸, but it was your forces who held the line for freedom and democracy in “The Darkest Hour” of WWII.     The word "Sound of silence" always make me think of when my first dog passed away, never going to hear his paws touching the ground, his soft snoring while sleeping and the joyous barking when playing with him. This was a wonderful rendition of the song. Thank you TBoHMRM!

    May 2024, and heard this version for the first time. I have played this video 3 times already. This rendition is simply genius. The harmonies are totally out of this world. I don’t enough words to describe how brilliant this version is. The best of the best. It is haunting me.

    Superb, these 2 people and the band nailed it!! Simon and Garfunkel sung as it was meant to be, at it's best!! I am of the age, when i bought the original album. It is still my favourite song from that album, and these guys do more than give it justice. Thank you for a beautiful rendition. I was 18 then, i didn't realise the implications, then it was just a cool song from that era, now years later, i understand, i've been there, done that. come out the other side, scared by the experience, but out at the minute, the 70's tune were not meaningless, they held a message
