May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala preserve brother Ali Ataie.
I am surprised Ali A doesn't have more interesting topics as he has with Paul W because I think brother Ataie can do a lot for Muslim people because of his credentials. In my eyes, he is one of the top 5 people to learn from. Even when he talks he sounds really nice, not too soft, not harsh.

So much respect and appreciation for Dr Ataie. Alhamdulillah. May Allah protect him.
A three hour long video, yet so much knowledge could be learned from...
Hmhm! If one wants to be knowledgeable in Islam and the Qur'an, he/she must be conversant with Arabic. It makes everything much more easier and beautiful to learn. Look at the way all this knowledge is flowing from Dr Ataie. If I can be eager to listen to, and enjoy all that he is saying in English, imagine how it would be to be learning all this in Arabic. Perfect!
Dr Ataie Asalamualykum..always a pleasure listening to you sir ❤
IMHO if amir Uthman had stabilized the text by relying on his own memorization and reading singlehandedly it would probably been still good enough... but he took it a step further - by being consultative and forming a committee
May Allah reward you. The lecture taught me alot
amazing lecture.. i can follow his lecture non stop. very addictive.
Alhamdulillah tq Dr Ali. Interesting topic
One of my top scholars
Fantastic work MashaAllah. May Allah reward the Dr. This video has audio issues. For some reason the audio is only on the left speaker, and then in the middle there is some distracting background noises. The content is super beneficial, so I think it would be value added to have an audio engineer fix these issues (assuming it's possible). I am really looking forward to the second part of this presentation. I guess my biggest question is why do people give credence to these one off reports and ingore the mass transition of the Quran. Like I understand there are reports that indicate a sahabi read this way or that way, which is fine. But all the qiraat and asaneed through the sahabi don't have that reading. So it must be the case that the sahabi dropped it to conform with the uthmanic recension. This shows that the our salaf cared about this project. And for the sake of standardizing it they dropped their own personaal preferences (which they learned from the prophet). Or it means the one off report is simply not accurate. I think it would have been good to mention the Hadith about the ahruf where the property specifically mentions there are old people in my ummah. It seems like the whole concept was a concession for readers that could not master the Quran. Which is super important in the first generation while these things are being solidified. Afterwards it's not so important because you learn as a small child with someone who already mastered. But the sahabi we're adults when it was being revealed. And they needed to understand it perfectly and read it perfectly in their native tounges so they could cheive mastery and then pass it on. It is miraculous
at the 50th minute the studio has intrusion as l was listening could be more , by female voices ...plz rectify and let all know..so those downloading have it as you delivered...great work..may allah reward you
Dr Ali Ataie should replace people like Uthman ibn Farooq in terms of fame (not to defame Uthman ibn Farooq), he’d bring much more beneficial knowledge to people.
Wonderful detailed lecture! Thank you brother Ali!
Love your works and manners my dear brother
I would love to have this PowerPoint
Amazing presentation! Just to note, I think the recorders of the video were listening to something else in the 52th minute mark which can be overhead in the video. Please ask the recorders of the video to refrain from this in future as it's distracting and disrespectful to the speaker, presentation and topic. JazakAllah
There are 3 points to clarify Collection of Quran happen during the time of Khalefa Abu baker after the battle of alhadeeqa in alyammama after many killed who memorize Quran and the commete head by zaid and this collection stayed with um almumennen Ayisha The second point during Khalefa Othman based on the initial collection with the help of zaid they made copies send to different areas The third point Regarding abukozima alansaari ,there is a Hadith considering his testimony good for two men
Mashaa Allaah Dr Ataie, very well presented!
some may not know.....A'zzami converted to Islam when he was a a young man in India before migrating to Saudi Arabia
Salem Allaikom Brother Ali. We miss you and your lectures.. I've been waiting for this topic from you for quite a long time.. Jazzak Allah Khaier for sharing Knowledge in this area where pseudoknowledge reigns !! Baraka Allah fik
Excellent lecture as usual 👌 (33:26) I find it absolutely rediculous that anyone could propose a hypothesis that the Quran was written before the prophet PBUH and that "he found it and liked it"....well why didn't anyone else find it ??😅...absolutely preposterous and unscholarly. All available scripture at the time was very likely in Hebrew or Aramaic or Greek which the prophet knew not. Allah clarifies this quite distinctly in the Quran: ﴿وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُ بَشَرٌ ۗ لِّسَانُ الَّذِي يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِيٌّ وَهَٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيٌّ مُّبِينٌ﴾ [ النحل: 103] 16:103 And We certainly know that they say, "It is only a human being who teaches the Prophet." The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this Qur'an is [in] a clear Arabic language. Allah also asserts the illiteracy of the prophet and that he was never exposed to former revaluation before his encounter with Jibreel in the cave of Hiraa and his subsequent visit to Waraqa bin Nawfal. ﴿وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُو مِن قَبْلِهِ مِن كِتَابٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّارْتَابَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ﴾ [ العنكبوت: 48] 29:48 And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.
Salem Allaikom. Please Brother, add the translation to other languages for a wider public to benefit from this knowledge and especially the Arabic language. Jazaka Allah khaier

Various other splinter sects have also been identifying as "Islam" (notably Shiism, Sufism and Ahmadiyya), and thus became very misleading. It's thus become important to distinguish from other sects, hence the "Sunni" label
While one admires Dr. Ali Al Taie’s erudition and scholarly way of thinking and speaking, one cannot agree with him that the Qur’an has always been multi-formic and has never been uniformic. This is simply not true. It is only in the minds of traditional scholars that it was held to have multiple forms. When it was revealed to the Prophet, it was certainly uniform. With the passage of time and the expansion of Islam, however, Muslims started disputing about almost everything, including the Quran. In order to explain away these disputes, scholars have invented the tradition of the Seven Modes of reading (حديث الأحرف السبعة). Anyone who knows the Qur’an intimately knows that it has never had multiple forms and that the variations in the reading systems can be harmonized to have one single Qur’an instead of the traditionally accepted 20 versions.

Fadel Solimon did a good lecture on variations. Might help you.
Salam alaykoum, I would be careful misunderstanding Alim, Da3i, etc. as titles as it leads to creating Arbab between the people which is rejected in our Deen. Alim is someone who is of more knowledge than you. It is not a title even though it has been made to it throughout history. The same problem modern scientific Academia is fighting with... Elitism in Science has brought a lot of problems... So we should rather be careful! And I also wouldn't compare the word "Awwam" with our societies today as most people cannot only read and write, but also dive into literature very much more efficiently than in the past and without spending a dime for it. The amount of knowledge we have doesn't help us though. Muslims are still prohibiting what's halal and allowing what's haram... Like Riba, Ghiba wa Namima, Lying, etc. But all they talk about is the pancultural preference of how to wear the "Hijab" which didn't even exist as a term in the past... But they are busy with small things, in a wrong way and nobody speaks up against injustice...rather so called Ulama, Shuyukh, Alims, Da3is, etc. are the lovers of their masses and their kings...

You're confused brother, the terms used by Dr. Ali are the terms in 'Traditional' Islamic Knowledge of learning and understanding. It's true that the knowledgeable among the Muslims are the ones who dive in the sciences of Islamic Knowledge for 10, 15, 20 or up to 30 years of their life. And they don't just read the literatures, they learned it from their teachers, and their teachers learned from their teacher, up to the Salaf, Sahabiah and Prophet PBUH. The term 'awwam' or laymen is also the term for people who is out of the mainstream traditional learning of Islam. They doesn't know the traditional methods and only know the Western style learning or the Neo-Pseudo-Salafi-Wahhabi way of learning that being propagated online by their daei's. The 'awwam can read all the literatures they can, but their understanding will not be the same as the ulemas. That's why we need to learn and take knowledge from the ulema that have gone through the process of Islam with 'sanad', 'talaqqi' and 'ijazah'. That's the way of Ahlu sunnah Waljamaah.
