Muslim Community Center of East Bay (MCC) is a community non-profit organization dedicated to providing religious, educational, social, and recreational services to the Muslim community of Tri-Valley area of San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay.
MCC was incorporated in 2006 with a charter of providing a regional solution to address the needs of our community, particularly our youth, and operated by a dedicated, professionally staff members operating in a self-sustaining community environment.
We began publishing our videos online in 2016 with the intention of capturing and sharing the light and knowledge we were honored to be receiving from amazing scholars and teachers within the four walls of the community center, which holds our precious future.

Asalamu alaikum friends. This topic is crucially important especially for Muslims in the West, where food culture is especially deranged. Overabundance of food and a culture of selling food for profit have led many in the West to obesity, diabetes, and other health conditions. Most importantly, though, the pressure to overeat will create the diseases of the heart that the sister mentions in this video. Muslims should strive to look at food and drink as fuel for the body. No more, no less. Allah SWT gives us food and drink as a means to keep our bodies going. As a binge eater in recovery and a Muslim, here's what I do: 1) I use a food tracking app (Cronometer) to guide me on how much to eat to sustain weight and health. 2) I have educated myself on nutrition so that I'm getting a balance of protein, fat, carbs, and micronutrients. 3) I eat two meals a day and no snacks in between. 4) I do not season my food except with pepper and a bit of spice and herbs. No added salt or sweetener. This makes food less "interesting" to the nafs. 5) If I get "bright ideas" that involve my eating more than my usual, I question myself as to why. The answer is usually my nafs trying to get me to entertain myself with food. And it's better for me not to listen to the nafs. Insha Allah this comment will help a brother or sister.

i will never forget how when i was in highschool how that time i was mocked and called ibn gaza for all sorts of reasons and i cant tell u how deeply honored and happy i was on that day , even when mocked i didn't oppose or stop anyone calling me any names with regards to palestine or gaza ❤ truly that day i felt Like i had been given honor to be included among these righteous God fearing blessed nation of people❤
