I have a g shock watch it’s been sitting in my room for like 9 years straight never touched it once when I bought it it still has an alarm at 730 and that wakes me up LOL I don’t know how the g shock is still alive

I've had a G-shock GA100 since I was in Grade 6. Now I'm in college and the thing still works like a champ and looks even better worn out and scratched. It has a character. I'd buy this watch %100

Smartwatch technology wasn't durable enough for the G-SHOCK brand. They already released a Pro-Trek WSD-F10 with WearOS in 2016, the Pro Trek WSD-F30 had much of the same features. What makes this G-SHOCK so unique is the fact that it has 200m water resistance and 10m shock resistance. No other smartwatch is as tough as this G-SHOCK

@@LordTechPro agreed! I bought a G-Shock pathfinder watch back in April 01, 2009, over 12 years ago and I still wear it. It’s a solar-tough so no battery replacement. It was beaten to hell for many years but it’s still good. I own Apple Watch now so she stays on the shelves most of the time now but I’ll busted out to sun light once a week. Having said that the G-Shock watches are great watches to have foe a long haul but not comfortable as I would like it to be. Apple Watch on the other hand is much more comfy.

@@bruceyung70 I have a 2013 G-SHOCK Rangeman and a 2016 GWG-1000 Mudmaster which I have tested to their extreme limits. They are still work perfectly and have not required any battery replacements. I like Apple products but the Apple Watch is pure garbage, I don't think anyone wanted a second iPhone on their wrist, which is why they are trying to do a Casio by releasing a rugged Apple Watch this year

She has really made a good name for herself

I have 3 g shocks and my favorite the mudmaster. Love that whats every day.

I'm eager to try this watch. I think Casio took some time to figure out how to create a real watch and then put in top of it the smartwatch functions. And the G-Shock resistance is just what will make this watches so much more compelling than your average Smartwatch.

I’ve got the first G-Shock ‘smart’ watch the GBD-H1000. I’ve had it for a year and love it. Glad they have added for training plans with it instead of just running. The battery life is brilliant but the smart features are more like a pager than anything else. I will be upgrading to this one though

Just get a Garmin Instinct Solar and you will have all the real world things you need ....and solar backup. I've had 2 full Android watches and an Android Wear watch so I know which novelties wear off and what actually gets used, day to day. The Garmin Instinct Solar will be the answer for most people.

Good idea for Casio this ! btw Ticwatch introduced the dual layer lcd long life screen a few years ago now, had one on the first Ticwatch pro 2018.

Save for the price i am really liking this watch.i used to have a gshock gd350 1bdr and i always used to wish i could get a full blown smart watch in a g shock body or something roughly resembling a g shock. The ticwatch s2 almost appealed to me but they didnt include the dual display and the newer sd4100 so i skipped that one and then i owned the amazfit t rex for abit but the software experience just had a few omissions i couldn’t comfortably live with . I could happily use this as an alternative daily driver to my apple watch but im not sure how well wearos and ios work together. The all black one is calling to me

So what if your more searching for a a Luminox Navy Seal kinda smartwatch. I mean something that has, or 1-12 on the edge or (preferably) a similar style Tachymeter?

I hope the interface is going to be a little more user friendly and if they got the lag problem between comands figured out.

My TicWatch Pro does this with the dual display and gives me a month on greyscale mode. I love it. I've been using it for a year and I don't even have the newest one and the newest one is half the price of the GShock

I upgraded to the 3 Pro with the Qualcomm processor it's definitely worth the money

huawei watch GT2 - 2 to 3 weeks of battery. now its not a full smart watch but its smart enough. really good and I have got exactly 3 weeks personally between charges. it give me alerts, use if for running with gps. impressed by it. would never get a watch that needs charging every night.

This watch is a beaut !!

This is the second g shock like this, they had a square one thats already been released that has very similar features, i guess both products are targeting a specific audience tho, this seems more for workout, the other one was more casual/surfing

Garmin breaks easily, screen issues, scratches easily and no tough like gshock.

Casio is a god tier watch ⌚ brand/company. I hope Lew does an unboxing video on it.

I’m thinking about getting it too. I want it because I need the Heart rate bpm and it has MTB activity mode.

Check the Withings ScanWatch; it is a hybrid smartwatch with up to one month battery and a 2-hours charging time.

103 gm is lighter than many steel divers watches. It's the thickness that's the killer but it's not like you'll wear this under a dress shirt cuff. Think I still prefer my Suunto for holidays.

I have the protrek.... best smart watch... they say that only 2 1/2 days is short for battery life...but we all would carry a power bank for our phones and why not for this??

There’s the Amazfit T-Rex/T-Rex Pro as well as a cheaper alternative.

There are £6000+ G-Shocks, so this could be considered 'cheap' compared to some.

Just to be clear, 103 grams for a watch isn't heavy. I think a Rolex Sub is around 160 grams? 150? A lot of watches can get in the 200 grams range. But, the size on the other hand is quite huge. Its a massive watch in all directions.

I have gshock watch. It never failed to satisfy my expectation.

I can’t wait for this thing the smart watch meets the capability of gshocok, I love these watches no matter what. I always say apple and gshock should team up

there is no watch that looks more freaking sick than this, not a second place.

As much as I love Casio, they have a lot to catch up with in terms of their software support. Their connected apps are... impractical, to say the least, and their watches are left unsupported with firmware upgrades after 1 or 2 years. They make great hardware and I love their WSD-F series (ProTrek with similar dual layer display concept), but they gotta get their act together in software department.

Well i actually was thinking someone should implement dual layer display.. Top of E-ink and bottom with full color oled display.

fenix isn't as tough as gshock, scratches easily, half the screen have blue tint after 2 years use it dies I have gshock that is 20 years old and still working.

the non-smartwatch mode of the mobvoi tic watch does exactly the same... nothing new here...

looks like amazfit T-rex lol, but with that you are getting 3 weeks of battery life with amoled colour screen, not grayscale 70€ vs 600€.. + mobile app 😂
