This song reminds me of my older sister, who I lost in 1972 aged 13. She used to sing this to me. Proper cockney who was born in the sound of Bow Bells. We loved the Small Faces, and Steve Marriott was a total one-off. Can’t tell you how much I love this track… 💜🙏🏾✨💫

One of most endearing things about The Small Faces is they never took themselves too seriously. They were always having a laugh and left the pretentious stuff to other bands of the time.... And yet they still came out with some iconic 60s gems. One of my favourites.

I was about 14 years when the Small Faces gave a concert at the "Vestlandhalle" at Recklinghausen, Germany. After an overwhelming performance they had some water spread all over them just to cool down and to refresh themselves a little. Some of the water drops reached the audience, among others some young beauties. They where out of their mind and at those spots, where a water drop had hit their skin they drawed small hearts with a pen directly on their skin. Incredible to imagine that most of those beautiful young ones now are grand mams.

When you're listening to music like this and you're a kid or in your teens (like I was at the time), you simply enjoy it, but when you're much older and hopefully wiser and look back, you realise how good such as the Small Faces were; we just took them all for granted back then. You listen to this and 50+ years simply disappear. How glad I am that I was a teenager in the 60s.
