Probably the most beautiful song ever recorded. Ronnie's bass and Kenney's bass drum are locked in tight. Kenney's drum and cymbal sound is remarkable as are his fills. The guitars are perfect, The flute solo is dream like and full of hope. The ending with the harmonica is so original . And then we come to Steve's vocal performance,; vulnerable, innocent , a man truly in love with his wife. Steve Marriott sings from his soul. The greatest singer in the English speaking world, bar none.

I was in the UK when Steve was playing acoustic shows at the Mean Fiddler, given this song and Red Balloon. I thought they’d be great. Sadly I didn’t go. Anyone go to one of these? Be very interested hear how good they were. Then I burnt my flat down, fell asleep boozed with a lit ciggie. I got out, but the smoke nearly got me. then he did the same thing and didn’t. Very eerie, but my life has been a lot like that.

Que armonía y a la vez, dependiendo del tema a tocar, tan prendidos y tan chingones en su manera de exponer lo que saben hacer.

Steve kept it real his whole life. Despite what many say, he was NOT underrated but highly thought of and NOT forgotten as some have said, he is WELL remembered. Tragic loss for us all. RIP

God, those days! The brilliance of the creativity and FEELING that flowered in our beautiful country, then.
Breaks my heart this proper crying. As the three are gone Steve marriot, Ronnie lane. Ian mclagan only kenney Jones with us. Wish they could all come back this was real music and its lovely to see they had right fun in life and kept smilling xxx

My fave Small Faces number hands down. Simple and mesmerising. Lovely.
This song is really beautiful, the musicianship is extraordinary, especially the flute solo, when it starts it sends shivers through you, very melancholic , and the vocalist, Mr M, untouchable in delivery and expression .

I think this is one of the best songs ever recorded.
Nowhere in the world can touch British music in the 60s, most of the 70s, 80s or the 90s the 2000s are debatable and up to now in 2020 but nobody can deny the great influence these bands have had on music throughout the years and music fans are still listening to these classics everyday.. simply brilliant.

such a great song, so much of Wellers early solo stuff can be heard in this - great tune and the film well it makes you sad - they could be the inbetweeners ! Looks such a laugh, went to watch All or Nothing at the theatre a few months ago it was really good - closest I will get to seeing them.
Brilliant and magical song !!
I was nowhere Till you changed my mind Love is sent through being good to you Then you were somewhere Somewhere hard to find Only what you always were, it's true I'm looking for an open door Where I can sit, and play in peace with you Tomorrow changes Fields of green today Yesterday is dead, but not my memory We were strangers And then you came to stay The sweetest spring dawn morning sings to me So now I've found a living sound That moves, that breathes and then makes love to me

Surreal and sublime in equal measure. Marriott was a genius, and it has taken far too long for the world to realize his worth.
Here on KZread there is a channel called Yesterday's Papers. They have reviews by the stars of the sixties of other music of the time. It is striking how often The Small Faces are called out as one of the three or four groups making original music, along with The Who and The Beatles (of course). I am just old enough to remember them on the radio. Not only great memories, but magical ones as well.

So am i
