I am a home sewer for many years, I have done design as needed to address a given situation. However I have no training as to the actual math and design. This is really exciting. I love these templates because sketching is difficult for me.

Here as a video game/film concept artist looking for cross discipline training. Thanks for the vid! We do the same thing in designing sets for map out positional elements in a scene for composition; simple maps. Cool to consider seam placement, makes me think of 16th century armor design.

I would love to see more about drawing flats. In my school book they are called Pattern schemas, but nothing came up when I tried to search for that here on youtube. I need to figure out how to draw a cardigan type top like right now as I have a school project that is due tomorrow. So having some more videoes about this for future help would be amazing. Your videoes on illustration has been so helpfull, can see so mutch more improvment from my drawings after watching them vs just looking at picturs in the school book and of clothes in simular shapes.

I love this!

Having an old school graphic design/print production background, I would be inclined to three hole punch the patterns and three hole punch 8 1/2 x 11 tissue. This way you can pin register them. I hope the 1/4" registration pins are still available.

Here’s something interesting: while shopping for thrift store books one day, came across some Japanese plain covered and in 3 different coloured, pattern books. I was fascinated with them but alas, I didn’t speak the language and at the time, was actually into using books to make my own custom books and couldn’t decide to pay the couple dollars for the set of 3. But got home and they kept popping up in my mind and looked them up- WoW 😲- kinda cool and collectible but extremely useful books. So I immediately went back to the store, fingers crossed 🤞that they’d still be there and they were, and on sale for less a buck each. Picked them up and shelved them- since I knew they’re good for learning basic pattern skills and worth a little.

AHHHHHHHHH!!! I’m overwhelmed with excitement because I have been trying to figure out what flats are in depth! My sewing teacher keeps pointing me at Vogue’s flats/blocks but I’m a beautiful trans-feminine woman 🧑🏻😅 so I need to figure out how to make my own

See, I am in 2nd year of college for B.tech. But here I am, not knowing what I want to do, thinking of changing skills but I don't gave the guts to tell my parents. So taking up skills in designing, makeup and also engineering so I can have options open. I am a bit interested in art. So you see, it is never late. Find your options. Try all of them out. Find which suits you. Go with it. All the best!

Hi Zoe Can you believe I’m a BA (HONS) Fashion and Textiles Graduate and I’ve had to take extra class in illustrator because there was so much work we had to cover so they SLIMMED over this module!!!!!!! When looking for work whats the first thing I noticed, photoshop and illustrator needed!!!!!!! £9000 already spent and I still have to go on another course Can you please do

I don't like adjustable forms. There are too many areas you can't pin, like where the plastic adjusting disks are, and the gaps between panels. Alvanon forms are the best but the most expensive. You can find used ones on ebay. The rest are all pretty similar to each other. PGM, Wolf, etc.

When drawing flats for a sizing inclusive line, would you draw many flats for the different body proportion ranges?

I would if you're creating different shapes. If you have 2 shirts and one is made for women with big hips, your shirt would have a more flared hem. You would not make different flats for different sizes, like a large and small from the same style.

Do I need to draw tshirts flats if I'm designing mens T-shirts and also women's T-shirts
