i adore to wear muslin! and its vanilla-ice-cream-color with its black dots
Very helpful! Machine still a little off tho 😭
You're the best Zoe :)
Should I get one with wheel? Will it be annoying if it move around when draping?
They all have wheels. It's not that annoying. You have to actually push the form with a bit of force for it to move.
I want more 👍👍💯💯💯
Where would I find people with these skills, I have a apparel design degree and I just wouldn't know where to find these people... could be a issue of where I live
This is so good thank you
Hello! I've been watching your videos for a couple of months. I'm quite focused in learning how to be a fashion designer and starting my business. I'm focused, I'm organized, I'm creative, yet, I have ADHD. 😅 So (I'll save you the details) I'd love to learn and research about other fashion designers who also have ADHD.
Yes! Yes! Keep going please! I love this subject ❤
Perhaps someone already commented, but one main difference between Alençon and Chantilly lace is that Alençon is made with needles originally and Chantilly with bobbins!
This video is a gem, like so many of yours! thank you!
Amazing
Thank you boss, I'll definitely do my homework
Bro you're a freaking genius ❤️
Thank u Zoe! This video was so helpful ❤
She's so awesome.
The confidence you have with your lines is outstanding. I learned more about the female figure in your 4 videos than I did from watching scores of character design videos. Thank You.
You put my mind at ease. I like how you said a designer doesn’t necessarily need to know everything but it’s better to try to learn about it when they can. I think I’ve been stuck going from job to job trying to learn as much as I can and whatever I can bc otherwise, I won’t be able to open my own company. Granted, I don’t have money to spend for all the other vendors I can send them out to but you got me out of my head thinking I have to I HAVE TO know everything. But I will never regret what I have learned. Based on what you listed out, I would say I would have to work on social media and that would have been my next step to learn 😅
Where do you think digital pattern making software fits into all of this? Im trying to stay as lean as possible but with no pattern making experience also want to make sure the fit of my garments are impeccable. Could I learn patterning on a digital software and save on hiring outside help?
Could you recommend a book on styling? Pls.
Needed to hear this. I am getting burnt out with doing customs only , trying to scale and get more into product production.
Your videos are really insightful. Thank you for that. Could you please recommend websites to get fashion books (ebooks/pdf)
Can you please tell me what's the name of the color pencils you're using
❤
Excellent video Zoe. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
You're welcome!
Hello, zoe your videos are absolute best I just love how clear and informative videos you share, I have a question I want to start fashion sketching but I'm confuse where to start like should I do fiqure drawing and what about later and what will be the end of it at what point should I stop and just do practice everyday can you reply me please 🥺 and lots of love from my side keep going!🤗.
I liked this comparison. Yeah, I found the quality of the Scholar to be very impressive compared to the Premier. As well as their overseas Junior line, too (I think they're sold in Latin America - the packaging is all in Spanish). If you're a huge Prismacolor Premier user you'll feel the difference but I find even though I can tell them apart when using them, I really like the Solar and Junior lines. You can tell the formula that makes Premier so creamy and easy to blend, and the color so vibrant, is still there in the lower brands. They're definitely related.
love you boss, thank you so much for teaching us and sharing your knowledge and great vibes
love you, boss
Thanks for these videos. do you recommend any book on color theory?
I didn’t know Prismacolor has markers! 😱
Awesometastical! ❤
Please DO continue this design! My notes literally say 'To Be Continued ...' Like a telenovela 😂❤ Thank you, Zoe!
hahahah coming soon!
I have a made to order business, should I follow all these steps?
Yes and no. I have a made to order video from a few weeks back.

Top notch business advice for any business - First minute. Your vids are some of the best on the internet.
Thanks!
Thanks alot you are a great teacher ❤
You're the best 👍🏽
Thanks!
do you think it would be possible to run a fashion design business as a cooperative?
😂 that's bananas! Hahahahha You're a legend
thank you so much, you provided allot of information that i actually needed to hear from a pro, especially the grading part, i basically can do everything on that list, just the grading part is my nightmare.
Grading is highly specialized, technical, and difficult to do well on more complex garments.
Same girl! SAME!!!
I follow this guy, Daniel Preistly, who is an entrepreneur. He writes books like 'The Key Person of Influence'. He discusses how to set up a business. He doesn't talk specifically about fashion, but I think his advice still applies. He says that you first start with yourself and an idea. Then you have yourself and one other person as a scout team to make sure the idea is viable in the market before you do any real work or invest any real money into your idea. People often skip this step. Then you create a launch team of 4 people. If you don't have the money to pay them a salary, you can pay them in equity/stock options depending on whether you're an llc or a corporation. It is a little complicated to do, so you might want to hire a lawyer who specializes in equity distribution to write up the contract. Even if you aren't officially setting up your business as a corporation, it still helps to set things up like you are one. So, those 4 people would be like an executive suite, so you are the CEO, then you have a CMO (cheif marketing officer), then CFO (cheif financial officer), and a maybe a General Manager. You can pick the roles you feel are most important for your business, but you'll most likely need those roles, especially the CMO and CFO. The 4 of you will be responsible for building out most of the business. Obviously, with fashion, there will be a need to contact out some of the tasks, but mostly, it will be the 4 of you doing the bulk of the work. Once you hit $100,000 per person in revenue, then you can start hiring more people. 8 to 12 employees make you a lifestyle business. Once you get up to 35 employees, you're a proformance business. In between lifestyle and profomance is a very difficult stage to be in, though. You're too big to be small and too small to be big. Be cautious of that stage if you get that far, at least. I opened a 'Drawio' account so that I could make a structural flow chart of who all my employees/co-owners'/contracors are, what tasks they will be responsible for, when we launch certain lines and when we would hire who and for what. It really helped me flesh out exactly how I want my business to run. Daniel Preistly is def worth a follow on KZread! He's helped me so much. I do think he is more geared towards starting tech corporations, but not always. Sometimes, he talks about lifestyle businesses, which is what I want. I don't see why you can't still apply his knowledge to fashion. I do sometimes watch content for startups, but not all of it applies. There are key differences between LLCs and corporations, so just be aware of that. I still find some of the advice useful. There are even sights that help you find a co-owner, kind of like dating sights.
Nothing better than a long holiday weekend, organizing fabric and patterns, and watching Zoe.
Thank you!
