I just wanna say, Kids Next Door was hands down my favorite series of all time growing up with Cartoon Network. Although lots of shows on CN were either hit or miss for me, KND was a show I couldn't get enough of. My gratitude goes to you for making my childhood that much better, thank you Mr. Warburton. In fact, I stopped watching Cartoon Network around the time KND ended, and that was no coincidence. Although I've long since grown into adulthood, I look forward to being recommissioned when the time comes, and I really wanna see GKND become fully realized. Kids next door rules! P.S. I loved that episode with the KND backstory lore in it being a big reference to the Animatrix lore film; that has especially always stuck with me, even to this day as something I remember very fondly.

One of the major reasons CN didnt greenlit it was cause of the change of CEOs and the massive restructuring over the years. It was caught in the black hole like so many shows at the time and was just another victim to the decade change.

I always interpreted Numbuh 1 joining the Galactic KND as him and his family moving away from home and leaving all his friends behind. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about this show even as an adult, how it isn’t just a mindless kids show. You can watch it from an adult’s perspective and still enjoy it because it’s a bunch of kids using their imaginations to run rampant and have the time of their lives, all while the adults in the show play along.

I love the ending of Interviews because it shows that they’re all still Kids Next Door Operatives. They were never decommissioned. Which I think is one of the main lessons of KND. The series shows you that there’s something truly special about being a kid and depicts growing up as something horrible but inevitable. BUT even though you do grow up you can still be a kid at heart. “It’s not your age that’s changed, it’s you.”

I remember thinking similarly as a child. It seemed like that was my life. That's how it was going to be forever. I was such an imaginative, play pretend, go on make believe adventures, video games. I did have a pretty dang good childhood. Seemed nearly perfect looking back on it as a 28 yr old adult. As kids our concept of time, age, futures, change. We don't really understand it. It seems like we sort of forget after a certain age that almost nostalgic, freeing, pure, ambition we had as children. How time seemed to move so much slower and we didn't really know what it meant. As an adult, and well 2 decades after being a ''child'' I still sometimes have those moments where I'll have a flashback of an old neighborhood I used to live in, the friends I had living around me, the games and imagination adventures we used to go on all the time. The days of just sitting on the floor and playing video games with my brother, or just a beautiful memory about that time in my life. It creates such a bittersweet feeling. Cause on one hand, I do love remembering those times, those more innocent, simpler, carefree times. But also knowing I may never feel that way again because of all the things all the life I have went through since then. I have definitely changed, some for the worse, some for the better. But there will always, I feel be that inner child who has never really grown up wishing for a better life, more innocent times, that part of me that makes me forget I am closer to 30 than I'll ever be a teenager again.

@@moonbased7796 well in a sense the adults like father know that and play along. I mean thats kind of the moives plot. Grandfather is like 10x more cruel for no reason. Heck he cruel to other adults. So the OG KND kind of team up with the adults in the end. And after 0s brother seen all this. Knowing he too weak to be KND or adults. And that both sides had good and bad point. He make the current version of the KND struggle. A struggle but one that doesn't hurt everyone for no reason. He keeping the balance. That why he took the KFDTL away and destroyed the how to do it. They are a exp if ether side going to far. That can be seen at the whole point of 2nd little Brother arc. He's not KND but know tons of there secrets and what an what happens if either side get too much power. So it easy to see that in say 10-30 year Little 2 grows up joined the adults gets told about grandfather and told aboutn what really going on. Then trained by father who let him take over.

This ending was the first time I had experienced a show that I followed and loved actually having a "series finale." Up until then for me, cartoon shows just abruptly had a last episode, never aired a new one, and I wouldn't know for a long time that they ended, usually until I internet-searched it. Majority being episodic shows, this was just the norm. But after excitedly getting wrapped up in the story arc in KND's last season, I vividly remember commercials going "prepare for the mission to end all missions" and felt this was WAY different than how I was used to shows ending, thinking: 'hold up, shows can just naturally conclude..... on purpose 🤯!?' It's one of the greatest wrap-ups to a show ever, and it was my first, so it always means a lot to me (still praying G:KND makes it into reality 🙏🏿). Incidentally, from then on I became way more hyper-aware of the difference between cancelations and series finales. Avatar: TLA happened to have a huge one later in that same year's summer 👀.

For something like that you would need very thorough clauses to prevent company's intentionally kneecapping the i.p.'s value and possibly other media's value as well. Prey 2016 is a spiritual successor to System Shock and Bioshock with no relation to Prey. But the publisher needed to publish an entry in the series to retain the i.p. rights. This lead to Prey 2016 not reviewing as well as it should have and Prey still staying locked away.

Would an interstellar setting work? Part of the charm of the series was seeing the mundane world kids lived in re-imagined as this unique battlegrounds between kids and their worst enemies. So in an intergalactic setting… it would be the same except lose that connection to the ordinary world. So it’s just a sci-fi adventure but with kids. Whenever people talk about media getting sequels or additional seasons this is exactly what I think about. Given what I understand to be the themes of the show, I really don't think it would have worked out. What would a galactic setting do to further the ideas explored in the show? When that show ends, does numbah 1 team get recruited for Universal Kids Next Door? A premise can only grow so far before it begins to undermine it's own foundations and a big challenge for creators and fans in to appreciate when you're approaching those limits. Better it ends well with bits of idea fodder the community can turn into fanworks than for it to get stretched out and lose the interest and care of it's audience.

At the end of the day, I don't believe any sequel or reboot is going to carry the same magic as the original. Even if they absolutely nail the production, the audience has grown up and changed. I think the series could still work. If they're focusing on a stop the G:KND story, then they could focus on some earth based stories that have some hints and teasers about an alien invasion. About midway through the season, the aliens take more direct attacks, with the KND fighting back. Meanwhile, most of the adults are completely oblivious or dismissive of the signs. If they focus on the G:KND, then they can tell a different kind of story. Maybe have a team on a spaceship that travels between different planets. Each week would give a different setting, secondary cast, and problem to solve. Meanwhile, we'd see the day to day life between the crew members.

I know there was teaser for it somewhere on the internet and while I’m a little worried that number one seems to be a villain, that easily could have been misleading or played for drama, like he appeared to be going with the Galactic KND plans but turns at the last second or something, but the only way we would have found out is if it was made but Cartoon Network in their infinite wisdom decided to not do that.

That all the things the KND stated about adulthood was just overblown bias from an extremist organization that saw getting old as a disease that needed to be cured or purged. Cause the show really did make it seem like adulthood was the worst parts of your life. And maybe in some ways that’s true and I get that’s the point seeing as it’s from a kids perspective but still looking back it feels like the next logical route to take the series especially since all the people who grew up with the show are adults now.

Watching this episode back then was INSANE. Anyway, I really hope we do actually get the galactic kids next door show the creator wants.

If 275,000 views in two days on an somewhat popular/obscure KZread channel is any indication, this show definitely still has an interest in a fanbase that continues to grow. Gotta love it.

Used to wake up around 4:30 in the morning during my childhood days to catch up with CN:KND and still it's one of my favorite shows.

That finale had me back in the day. I was happy to hear that Numbuh 3 and 4, and 2 and 5 got married. I cheered when Numbuh 1 took the Delightful Children for good. And I was sad when Sector V did their last countdown.

I remember watching this episode and being so shocked, now so many years later, I'm still shocked, but nostalgic, as soon as I heard about the possibility of G:KND I wanted it, no matter when it comes out (cause I'm positive that it's gonna happen sooner or later) I'll watch it instantly

KND could have ended with the movie Operation Zero if they wanted to, but instead we got this great one hour special that set up a spinoff which we sadly won't ever get to see.

I owe it all to codename kids next door. I loved the series so much as a kid and it was a big comfort for me as I was going through elementary/middle school. I found my love for drawing through redrawing my favorite screencaps from the show and sticking them to my notebooks and file holders. I'm in my last year of college now and pursued multimedia arts. Maybe there's a chance that I would've started drawing regardless of whether I watched this show or not, but as it stands, KND is the reason I discovered I wanted to become a storyteller because this show was just show fantastic and inspired. I haven't stopped hoping to learn more about this universe if and when they finally greenlight GKND.

Thank you for giving me something I didn’t know I truly needed. I can definitely say KND served as a major cornerstone of my childhood and influence to later pursue art. This format was 👌🏻✨ almost like BlameItOnJorge with his lost media content and a nostalgic deep dive. More please !

Kids Next Door was one of my favorite series as a child, I dreamed of having friends like Numbuh One had and hoped there would be other children who wanted to form a secret organization like presented in the show (but never happened unfortunately). I am not certain how I feel of the show being greenlit now, but if fans want the show I support the idea.

I remember watching the Villainous and KND crossover thing about a year ago and I loved how I can show the episode to my younger sister so she can enjoy a new show while getting to experience the old shows I used to watch, granted that crossover wasn’t the main point of the episode but it still had enough moments so that I can be content with my life

I loved it and I loved the interview with the kids as adults and the confirmation at the end that Abby was never decommissioned. I think they did try to do Galactic Kids Next Door a few years ago but it went off the radar. Would be such a fun fantastic concept this show was so creative and perfectly intuned to the childish imagination but it also got meaningful and intense towards the end, plus it always has this serious attention to sense of duty, commitment to a cause and those who can't help themselves, and respect for veterans of their group and lost heroes. Just some grade A family entertainment

Even if it's been about 7 years since the GKND animatic was shown, I still have hopes for the sequel. It might be possible. All we have to do is... "keep moving forward".

Nostalgic. Brings back so many memories. KND was one of its kind. It was really enjoyable. I never knew that "Operation: Interview" was a finale at first. It was when I look up to the wiki, I was surprised. I never knew that there was going to be a sequel. Sad that CN didn't allow it. But the finale was just fitting. Thanks for refreshing our memories.

I love this show so much. When I heard about GKND in like 2015 I so desperately wanted to see it. When I rewatch the series every once in a while it just makes me want to see the continuation all that much more. Also, CGI father aside, he was actually one of my first cartoon crushes for some ungodly reason.
