Loved this conversation! Loved seeing one of the founders behind EWG! I have been using EWG and recommending them to people for about 20 years. I'm so happy to hear that industry is using EWG in a positive way to improve their products. It restores my faith in humanity and (some) business. Thank you, Rich, for having Ken Cook on your show.

Organic choices, healthier living! 🌱✨ Key Takeaways: 1. *Prioritize Organic for Certain Foods:* Focus on purchasing organic versions of the "Dirty Dozen," which are known to have higher pesticide levels when conventionally grown. This can reduce your exposure to potentially harmful chemicals. 5. *Support Sustainable Agriculture:* Consider the impact of your food choices on the environment and support initiatives that promote regenerative and climate-smart farming practices. 6. *Be Mindful of Sunscreen Ingredients:* Pay attention to the ingredients in sunscreens, opting for products without oxybenzone, which has been linked to health concerns and environmental damage. 7. *Engage with Policy and Advocacy:* Stay informed about agricultural policies, such as the Farm Bill, and support legislation that aligns with sustainable and health-conscious values. 10. *Embrace a Forward-Thinking Mindset:* Shift focus from what to oppose in environmental issues to what to support, such as renewable energy and plant-based foods, to drive economic and societal change. 👉 Key Takeaways by Kwip AI

The food industry uses PFAS in food packaging. Most paper plates are coated with PFAS chemicals. Dominoes Pizza puts a coating on the pizza box. In the USA it is almost criminal how bad regulations are to our environment.

Thanks, Ken Cook, for all your work through the EWG !!!! As an Iowan, organic food has been important to me and my hubby since 1974...Thank goodness we have Wheatsfield Cooperative that has provided it from that time to now here in Ames ! As a vegan for 4 years, whole foods without pesticides matter ! So many dollars from our government has gone to farmers -- you said half a trillion dollars to agriculture since 1995 -- that investment has not saved rural America. We have had so many farmers go out of business with the introduction of industrial ag...AND...our earth cannot take the the impacts of it. Cattle takes the most land and water resources...hope everyone will eat less red meat and eat more fruits, veggies, beans, grains, nuts and seeds. It matters to our earth what each of us eats. Kudos to the efforts of Cory Booker and Jim McGovern on the Ag Committees in Congress who are pushing for changes that will matter to our health and the health of our earth.

Taking a break to digest the first half hoping that in the second half he talks about the flame retardants that are being being used to put out the outrageous forest fires out west in beyond. I got hit in the mouth buy a guy wearing a Roundup backpack who came around a corner on a windy day I've also been sprayed with our when I was 7 months pregnant the guy spraying came right up against our property and a hazmat suit for himself but didn't bother to tell us he was spraying that day and the county buried it. Another time when they were spraying for the medfly in San Jose and I had my 5-month-old with me.. but when they were spraying for mosquitoes in my town or maybe it was for a tree infestation I took my daughter out of school and headed for the coast. So many people have absolutely no conscience in this world. Greed kills. Okay back to the show and thanks to the both of you.

Rich, please have RFK Jr. on your show. I know if you reach out to him, he would gladly do it. Contrary to what many might expect (fed by the endless commercial media smear campaign), I would bet my dog that your audience would end up really liking the interview a lot. And yes, I'm a supporter of RFK Jr. In quick, random order, here's some of my reasons for supporting him... -genuinely wants to unite the country, and he has the ability to, being liked by many different 'types' of people from across the spectrum of issues and ideas, who are tired of the 2-party duopoly -calm, humble, has integrity, has courage, truth seeker in general, thinks for himself (not a DNC/RNC puppet) -not phony -incorruptible, cannot be bought -thoughtful and introspective -deeply considers problems and possible solutions -wants to get rid of 'Citizens United' and the power of the big private money controlling government -vocal about putting an end to corporate capture over government (pharma, banks, oil, military industrial complex) -wants to get us out of 'forever wars' and to pull back on and expose the corruption within the military industrial complex -wants to pull back NATO and resolve the Ukraine problem via negotiations -vocal about the dishonesty and agendas of commercial media -wants to abolish all pharmaceutical advertisements on television (this has major influence on the 'news' narratives) -wants to keep the pharmaceutical industry honest with safety testing, transparency, etc -wants to get rid of government assist crony capitalism and subsidies for big ag, oil, etc -advocate for civil liberties -vocally against censorship (will free Snowden and Assange on 'day 1') -against mandates and police state-like policies -classical liberal sensibilities with respect of others (without the 'woke' or fake identity politics) -vocal commitment to transparency regarding FBI, CIA, NSA over-stepping and out-stepping -passionate about environmental and ecological concerns -passionate about cleaning our food supply and exposing the unhealthy ingredients in processed 'foods' -wants to bring preventative health more into public discourse; nutrition, exercise, etc -will immediately close the border (this is not some republican scare issue, it is a very major issue - for many reasons) -has an excellent plan to make homes affordable for all, including a program that backs mortgages at 3% and a tax structure to keep Black Rock from continuing to buy everyone out (this also will bring rent cost down dramatically) -due to his family/background, he's well-learned from the inside of the various power structures -due to his decades as an attorney successfully taking on major corporations, as well as government regulatory corruption, he is exceptionally well-suited for taking on the myriad of corporate capture over our government -can catch rattlesnakes with his bare hands (it's on youtube...)

The producer of this videos is very profesional, knows about lighting, and photography. But I think the current trend of putting short pieces in the intro to supposedly motivate the video is a waste of time for everybody. Cut straight to the start of the interview. Everybody knows the quality of this interviews, no need to waste time with stupid teasers.

I applaud the work EWG does for consumer safety, especially with regards to identifying products and foods that are free of or contain acceptable levels of toxins. However, this guy seems a bit too left leaning for my overall taste. I get the feeling in his perfect world we'd all be eating "plant based" food and have no say in the matter. There would also be such stringent regulations in place, nothing could be done to change it. We need to find a balance between innovation, capitalism, health and well-being. I believe animal food is a natural source of nutrition for many of Earth's animals, including humans. I would never choose to eat some ultra-processed plant based "meat" instead of a grass-fed beef steak.
