Rich Roll

Thanks for stopping by! I used to be an unhealthy corporate lawyer. At 40 I decided to change my life. I switched to a 100% plant-based diet, lost 50 pounds and started exploring human potential across a spectrum mind/body/spirit disciplines: ultra-endurance, wellness, nutrition, mindfulness, psychology, relationships, parenting, leadership, and spirituality.

Now 57, I share what I have learned in talks, books, and on my podcast. I'm also a dad to 4 kids & live in Malibu, California.

I don't know man. His answer is basically work super hard at some shit you don't necessarily like doing and save money? As a society with all the technology and resources we have we should want better for people. It just all seems so unnecessary

It is great that you have had this conversation but I have to say , from my standpoint there was zero pushback on some clearly flawed ideas . The idea that university makes you think is deeply flawed: I really think it is all a scam these days - thinkers will think , university or not . University seems more like indoctrination camp these days . "Generous tax payers" is an oxymoron - people have to be forced to pay tax - forced with violence - it can never be described as generous unless the person suggesting so is so addled they don't understand what they are actually saying . Oh- and how is all that tax paying going in California , a place with massive net migration due in part to the sub human state of the inner cities , drug abuse and rampant theft - would seem like the Californians are getting stolen from at both ends . There is so much more that needed push back even though there were a few good moments . The comment on believing conspiracy theories and trusting the government puts a cherry on the cake of how myopic this guest really is . At one point doubting the beloved jab was a conspiracy theory ......... now , not so much .

Wise words indeed, we women think so logically as we mature. Some throughout all their life. No regrets ever, yes some but learn not to dwell.

The gov ruining the economy is just another front on their war against nuclear family’s and human propagation. They are intentionally making men unviable. Basically the us gov doesn’t want to say 1 child policy. But they have the same goal as their communist homeboys. They know more about where A.I. and automation is at than any of us do. They don’t need citizens anymore. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We are just becoming aware of the harmful effects of THC since legalization. I really don’t appreciate Scott’s endorsement of cannabis. There are studies that point to permanently lower IQs in adolescents that use cannabis. There are also studies that show 10% of the population can go psychotic while using cannabis. Not to say that cannabis is bad for all users. It’s just important that the public knows they are lowering their IQ while using, including Scott! 1:05:32 Otherwise, I really enjoyed the podcast. It was enlightening. As a male in their 20s, some of the statistics were shocking because they are true in my experience and nobody talks about it.

This is the worst advice. It comes from a position of privilege. There are good decisions and bad decisions. I know this. But I’m a decisive person and I trust myself. I’ve been surrounded by indecisive people for my lifetime. There are good decisions and bad ones. Usually a bad decision comes about from over thinking. A good decision comes about not from deciding at random, but from eliminating all the factors that appeal to ego over what is true to you. That’s the key to choices, not random choice. What is most in alignment with you at your core, not what benefits you might get in the future.

I understand your exhaustion, as I have had a lifetime of pain and suffering, too. I'm just an ordinary guy, but one who understands what you are going through. Carefully search for deep meaning in the following message from the living Son of God. From it and from other lessons I have been experiencing, I have started letting go of hard strains, strains I allowed to build up inside of me, strains that led to a recent massive heart attack. So, because of the changes I recently made in my life, more specifically in my mind and in my heart, I am finding wonderful rest and peace. And joy. Here's the message: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." My Friend, every single word in the above message is true and profound. It directly applies to both of us. I hope you take it seriously like I have done. You are in my prayers.

This guy is just pandering. Yes it is tough for young people. But it’s always been tough for young people. It’s supposed to be tough. The biggest problem for young people is the parents that put them on a pedestal only to find out later that life is hard when you become an adult. Galloway is just giving young people excuses when and if they fail. So rather than learning from their failures, they will not take responsibility or learn any lessons.

  • @LaughingStock55

You're just invalidating and minimizing. The data supports what Galloway is arguing.

This is a godless way to look at life. How about pray on it? Check in with what your own Soul says? Develop a relationship with God if you haven’t already done so to help you make choices? Come to know yourself, and your own soul better? So that you understand from an innate wisdom, perspective, back by your connection and understanding of God‘s will for you, what is in your highest good? Then, make a commitment, receive the blessings when you’ve chosen, well, and forgive yourself, when mistakes have been made. To randomly make decisions is to give in to the whims of others, and vagaries of your own mind, whether they/it wants the good for you or not.

One thing I've noticed is a lot of people are saying why don't men have other men who they can look up to, etc? Well, why can't men look up to women? What's happening there? If women are doing better in these regards, then maybe they should consider looking at women online who aren't just for their entertainment.

I really appreciate the points made here. First, I want to touch on the idea of not 'indulging' in certain foods out of fear of overeating. In my opinion, having a healthy relationship with food means finding a balance where we can enjoy treats without feeling guilty or anxious about it. (But I do also understand where Rich is coming from.) Second, it's important to recognize that binge eating can also be a serious eating disorder that requires attention and support. Let's remember to be kind (to ourselves and others)! Wishing everyone well 💕
