i highly recommend the corpse party series, its really god with awesome characters

As someone who's too easily scared to play those types of games, I really enjoy this videos that let me understand the plot without giving me nightmares

I like how Miss Library is called Miss Library because of Ogre/Onigawara commented on how Aya must have loved for books for having so many of them

I gotta interject one thing: Him being an "Oni" doesn't make him "evil by nature". Yes, Oni is a demon. BUT what is an Oni for one village could be a beloved god for another. I doubt the word Oni actually tells us about his own intent and nature at all. It only tells us that humans aren't always able to comprehend his reasoning to act as he does. Which depending on which side you are on of his judgement can make him an evil demon to you. I do agree with him being lonely and to some extend wanting someone he can connect with or feel content knowing he has "children in the world" next to the judgement and having beings able to interfere in humans affairs without him always having to reintroduce himself, which yes gives him time to interact with people but probably becomes a boring repetition. The time he lives and his restrictions and abilitys play a big part in how he chooses to interact with and effect people. So my guess is he is to a degree outside from what we deem good and evil. As he has been shown to grand those in despair the power to curse when it was about something they deeply cared about. Ayas mother cared about Ayas life, not the life of other children as much if they had to die for the work to continue. Misao despite being broken down cared about her own life and how it has been stolen from her by quite some people...I think the strong emotions are what intruiges him.

I have been thinking that perhaps Misao is Aya's descendant. Aside from similar looks they both seem to be very loyal to people they love deeply, regardless of what they've done.

Strangely, I don't think that Aki is a clone of Onigawara and Aya specifically. It wouldn't be terribly difficult to get human DNA from elsewhere, and if Aya's DNA was involved, I'd expect to see more of her traits, like her straight black hair. A personal theory of mine is that, yes Onigawara is Aki's father, but that their mother is a random human that hasn't been introduced. Aki never mentions their parents outside the beginning of the game when they say they're leaving, which receives no response. This implies that they don't live alone, but are somewhat neglected. I know it doesn't fit perfectly with the whole clone aspect, however I don't think it impossible that Onigawara just kind of hooked up with a human lady. Then, in Dark Space, after Aki was born, he could request an opposite-gender clone of them to be made. Ms. Library says that Aki smells like her because they aren't fully human, not because they're necessarily both clones. Aki's interest in Misao might also be influenced by their home life; seeing Misao get bullied or ignored may remind them of their mother, who seems to ignore them, hence why they would want to reach out and would be relatively forgiving to Misao, even after she's unable to move on and steals away Tohma. Now, about the whole clone thing. So, in the original version of the game, there were no confirmed clones of Aki. Aki at this time was only female, making her the default and canon protagonist. This all seems to imply that female Aki came into existence first. The note that you find about the other Aki and how the two can never meet was originally just a piece of paper on the wall Corpse Party style, suggesting alternate universes. With the additions of the male Aki and the remastered game, I think that things played out roughly like this; female Aki was created through somewhat unorthodox means, either being taken into Dark Space by Onigawara for cloning or at the very least for proper care. This Aki was cloned, however the male Aki still had to develop, so in the meantime, Onigawara found female Aki a home to care for her and oversaw male Aki's progress. Misao's murder occurred, so Onigawara gave her the power of her curse. Female Aki seemed to handle the situation well, but was a bit brutal and apathetic to those she didn't deem worth saving. Killing was also too easy for her than would be preferred. After the encounter, at some point male Aki was finally ready. Onigawara took him to a parallel Earth, setting up the events for Misao's curse to play out exactly as it had in female Aki's universe. This Aki was made to be a direct answer to female Aki's violent and apathetic tendencies, male Aki being overly kind and somewhat indecisive. This proved to be a little too much of an overcorrection, because he couldn't make the final choice to end the curse, so Onigawara allowed female Aki to take over his body to get the job done. In the end, neither were quite what Onigawara was looking for, but they complemented the other's faults, and so while they may never meet, the link they have will allow the other to have minor influence over their counterpart. Convoluted, I know, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me, especially given the fourth wall context between updates and game versions.

Aki's canon name is written with the kanji 亜希, where 亜 is most likely just a phonetic element and 希 meaning "hope"

If you name Miss Library Maria she also expresses that she’s not fond of that name but she’ll go along with it!

I thought that the ogre guy was a salesman because of a vampire joke, and saying ‘May I come in?’ Surprised to see otherwise

Mr.oniguwara seems like that one man,who you first see is like,scary,but when you get to know him,he's actually pretty nice man

Only one thing is certain. Agent 47 definitely stepped up his game.

I think the yellow kid from the Mad father was cloned thus he is the male aki thats why he is more good and hesitant to kill, then ame goes to Aya as female aki that's why she is brutal and merciless.

These games made my first youtube years. I love coming back to them and hearing about them. I just really wish they would expand to this universe

did this creator never make another game and continued with this universe? they're clearly talented!

I don't think they made another game on this universe but I know he or she still makes games. They recently released a game named "Sen" (Which means Mouse and the name or alias of the Developer)

@@corneliahanimann2173 same the only official source I found is that Sen seems to be an Indie developer from Miscreants Room and found his Twitter account where he seems to translate mangas of mad father and Misao oh, and he also has another account just locked from public

Just a nitpick but I think the time mad father is set in is more 1830 to 1940 as that's when chainsaws were actually in existence although the ones up until 1900 were actually hand powered. As long as the series took place in rural Europe the events actually fit better. Particularly with the anaesthetic use later.

My guess is that he takes interest in the antagonists not on the curse callers. I could be wrong but I thought that he gave Aki the opportunity to correct everything and truly free Misao because what he wants is that the wicked face adversity and he saw in the end that Sohta wasn’t wicked but broken unlike the mad father Alfred as well as useless to him and Misao herself was turning wicked from her resentment.

Ngl, but whenever the Madfather theme plays, it just feels eeriely calm, like you know something will happen, but at the same time you feel calm watching it happen

9:50 This just made me realize that Male Aki and Female Aki work like the twins in _Seed of Chucky._ The boy is their more innocent and empathetic traits, and the girl is their more violent and psychopathic traits (as inherited from Mommy + Daddy, of course). Lol they're literally even redheads.

I failed to mention oni's come in a variety of different colors :D and they mostly punish sinners. Aki means autumn not hope but the name akito means and autumn & bright person but far as i could tell neither means hope. But of course i could be wrong and missed a translation or two.

There are truly nice indie/pixel RPGs out there, besides Mad father and Misao there is also "If", "The crooked man", Aoi Oni, Corpse party and so on. Would be awsome if he would make vids about those games too.

Misao and Mad Father has same share Verse, first of all you started at Mad Father, which is you started in the story, since Aya doesn't know who's Mr. Onigawara, he only revealed his name in Misao. And Aya's Father is alive in Misao, which Onigawara use him in the Science Laboratory. I remember this when I watch Pewdiepie's Misao and Mad Father Walkhrough, but I knew they have the same Universe, In Mad Father, their country is on Germany, while Misao is in Japan, kinda coincidence for Me

Ooooh! That's a very good idea/recommendation! That's another gaming universe with a crap ton of interesting and fun lore! I love the creator of that universe. But then, I have a huge soft spot for pixel horror games.

Mad father was a really great game when it comes to story. Not as much of a fan of Misao myself. I feel a great video for you to do would to make an explained video for the game(s) “Clea” and “Clea 2” as there is no explained videos of these games anywhere on KZread. These games are definitely up your ally story wise.

It said the same thing. Female Aki is more apathic but she's still a good person overall. I mean, even after being sacarstic about forgetting saving Yoshino and killing Katura, she was still willing to help them moving on and free them from Misao's hatred.

If you try to name Miss Library “Aya”, she will say, “Daddy’s the only one who calls me that.” That confirms this is Aya, right? Not only that, but Library loves reading, and Aya did too. And Miss Library is shown to have the same features as Aya down to the blue eyes.

What I'm getting is that Ogre/Onigawara is a God, that Judges humans, and does it for fun in an Evil but decently Positive way, giving evil people the power to curse, but helping the good people to stop the bad ones... It's all some game to him, and so Mad Father and Misao are connected by the Characters being in both games in some form
