I remember when instead of finding miscellaneous objects you had to find actual parts of Misao parts lmao. It's so nice that this game was revamped. Also i find it hilarious that while The Male Main Character hesitates before killing The Teacher but Female MC has no hesitation.

INTENSE MUSIC PLAYS

I remember a version where Misao didn't just have her pictures taken, but was assaulted in the bathroom my a male student. And the MC hid from the mad guy with a chainsaw in an actual human body. Plus Misao's body parts were all over the school, hidden. Not yet sure how I feel about the revamp, I need to see a walkthrough first. But it already feels watered-down.

Damn I remember the fact that Fem!MC was sadistic af and didn't seem to mind the deaths, while Male!MC was genuinely terrified and kind. I don't remember why but it was a nice detail.

My guess is Akis female counterpart wanting to be friends with Misao chose to avenge her, as even in death she wanted to try to avenge still. Whereas the male MC was still trying to be her friend but still was more hesitant about avenging. To be blunt female Aki was ride or die, male aki was hesitantly ride or die

Spoiler | | | | | | | | | It is implied that she is a demon herself. She wears contacts that makes her eyes a warm brown when her eyes are red; you can see it during a flashback Aki has when she lost a contact, one of her eyes being red.

You are correct. But I believe the devs changed it to something that makes a bit more sense; finding body parts, while gruesome and somewhat darkly funny, didn't make a whole lot of sense except Misao's hands. The teacher was interested in her hands and lied about seeing Misao as he murdered her and hid her. So having multiple body parts would be a bit too revealing and kinda takes the seriousness of Misao's murder and disapperance right out despite this game being a dark comedy in certain parts. Finding stuff like her phone or shoes make a lot more sense in the standpoint of the mystery of her disappearance/death.

I had no idea they revamped some parts, so heres what I remember from the original ... 1. instead of hiding in a open bear, she hid inside of a human corpse 2. the green haired boy was originally ran over 3. you had to collect misaos body parts theres a few more i dont remember but this is the stuff they changed. i prefer the old ones than new

I appreciate they toned down the body parts since I couldn't watch the original due to it, but they did tone it down a lot. I do like that the green haired guy died on a stage instead of by a car though, it makes more sense in the school, and how he *acted* like he hated Misao. Kinda a fitting end

Same. At first I didn't understand what actually happened in the game. Till a couple months or a year later I came back to this game watched it again and realized what actually happened in this game. I remember crying for Misao, my heart hurt so much for her. She didn't deserve what happened at all. Though what the kids did was horrific, I don't believe they deserved to die horrifically as well. I do agree with them getting redeemed again, I do think they should have faced severe consequences for what they did to her. The teacher is irredeemable though. He was willing to harm and kill a student, he also proved that he would be willing to do it again. He is evil, super evil, no matter how sympathetic he seems in his backstory, no excuse for his evil actions.

I didn't know they changed the game... It seems so much milder now. The original was super dark, considering what really happened to Misao.

The oni in Onigawa means ogre, and it is really fitting with the settings. In Mad Father it seems to take place in Europe or some other English speaking country, while this game takes place in Japan

I think it is more naivety and innocence. This game has parts that are very on the nose while a lot is pretty under the radar. Especially if you're young and don't actually know what is actually going on, what people are actually saying or getting at, or what some words actually mean, or situations actually and incidents really entail. So depending on your age I just think you were naive not cold hearted. Most of what happens in the game probably just went over your head. I know for me it definitely did. Till I got older and watched it again, then I fully realized what actually took place and just how dark this game was. It is a great game, but boy is it so disturbing and dark. It's like a more intriguing Corpse Party. Especially since it might actually be connected to other RPG Maker games. It's a cool while also deeply disturbing game series. That, the Hanger Man, The Mermaid Swamp, and Dust. Such good RPG story games.

Do you think you could do a Story Explained on Ib? It is another RPG horror game like Mad Father, Misao, and the Witch's house A little girl named Ib, goes to an art exhibit, and then things go bad.

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
