Thanks for all this hard work. For those of us they buy into the WOTP, this is pure gold! I’m thinking of creating my own playlist of course VLOG’s that put this all together. Probably this winter. One suggestion on your Playlists, as you add them could you arrange so part 1 comes 1st instead of second?
I don’t see how anyone can top your videos for truly teaching the game of golf. You are a natural teacher and I appreciate the time you put into making these videos.
Typically I hit around +25-30. My best game ever was +17 (once randomly). But today I hit a +12 and for the first time I feel like I can reproduce that. Your videos are the reason I'm playing so good. THANK YOU
Your strokes shaved system is amazing. It’s put me in the mindset of playing the course instead of trying to be Tiger Woods every shot. I’ve broken 90 five times this year as well as a tough 119. You’ve taught me how to have fun at golf and how to score better. Your wisdom is limitless and I am truly grateful. Keep swinging like a BAUS!
Funny. I have spent more time with you than most of my friends over the last three years. Thank you for your wisdom, passion and care.
All you said works 100%. All instructors should teach these concepts instead of only swing technical stuff. I hope not to apply all your advice. Thanks 🙏
Brilliant, thanks! No one delivers golf secrets like you. I like the in classroom and on course combination. Keep it up.
Matt at his best.... Thank you Brofessor..
You have really been putting in a lot of time for the community lately Baus, mucho appreciado. Once you accept you can get 100+ yards low and straight with a 6i punch you will be unglamorous and unstupid.
I recently broke 100 for the first time, and I owe a lot to these sacred lectures. Thank you Brofessor, your tips on mindset and approach to the game have changed my life!
I’m only 16:33 in and I’m predicting that this is the most insightful video I’ve ever seen on strategy and course management…Bravo!! Thank you!! YOOF got it figured out!
Thanks Matt fantastic video and advice trust me I'm always a glory shot man and everyone says man what u doing lol

I keep coming back to this video and learning. Alot of information in 1 hour to absorb but is SOOOOOOOO GOOD! Thanks Baus! 🙏💪
Nice content, very helpful! Thanks for your teaching and time!
What a great series and it' been so helpful.
Needed this. Good off the tee lately and green side. Need to get the approach shot dialed!
Matt, thank you so much for this. This is excellent insight and knowledge. The punch shot is an essential sot to have not only to get out of the trees but when you play hilly or links courses (in particular) and are hitting approach shots into a green with strong winds hitting your ball (into and sideways). We have a par-3 of no more than 110 yards on a hill top with very little margin for error. The green is long and narrow with a run-off into long grass on the left and a WWII bomb crater on the right. When conditions are still I can get there with an easy wedge, if the wind is behind me, gap wedge or sand iron, if it's against and/or blowing sideways I could be punching a 7 or even 6 iron to keep it as low as possible.
I like the way you understand golf. Amazing lesson 🎯. Thanks for sharing it with us
Great video Matt! Approach game is exactly where i need to improve ( most!)
MATT, playa. Thanks so much for your mental advice!!! If i have a bad front nine, its very easy for me to get a bad mental!!! I kept my cool, used your ten step forget shot technique and hit a 39 on the back after a 50 on the front!! Stress free!!!
I watched this months ago. Kind of half listened to the information then. I'm now shooting low 90s- mid 80s and feel like this lecture is much more relevant to me now. Bought a book, gonna start note taking on lies not just girs, and firs and putts. Thanks Playa!!
New fan of the channel. Great job.
Punch shot advice is really on point, I even use a lower lofted punch on hardpan lies to roll it up on the green rather than than trying for a perfect pick with a wedge off hardpan.

I had on avg 5 punch shots during several past rounds. I have included practicing punch shots with my 5 and 6 irons to hit up to 150 yards which has helped me to avoid those double-bogies.

Lots to unpack. This is the 1st year I’ve really started paying attention to lies and I’ve also started keeping a mental notebook. One of things I realized was on a couple of par 5’s 8 time out of 10 Times, I’d hit a push slice and last year I chalked it up to a mental thing. This month after watching the putting Video with Adam, I realized that although the lie looks flat, the general slope is down. So last couple of rounds been treating lie a ball below my feet and aiming left. I’m making much much better contact, but the ball is going where I’m aiming. So I’m hitting ball into bunker that never came into play. I’m going to have to do a little more experimenting on where to aim. But I now know that it was the lie causing a lot of the push slice not a mental thing.
Let’s go! Cheers Mate!
My go to content creator for golf mindset. Thanks Matt.
Great videos always! What are your favorite golf books about course management?

Exceptional content bravo 👏
You were right. I’ve been playing since June. A week of watching your videos and ignoring my girlfriend, I just shot consecutive 92 and 89. When you break through you’ll smash through! The putting stroke for chips around the green, and no hero shots, have helped me massively.

Dear Matt, I just found your channel and websites and keep grinning while watching the tremendous stuff you are publishing and selling. Pure delight. Huge fun factor. Thank you so much for all your knowledge and advice. Just what I need right now in my golf journey. Started later in life (40+) and had some unvoluntary breaks, but in 2023 I managed to reach my first goal to become a lower handicapper (16 now). 😊 Time for a new goal: break 90/85. Two questions I have for you: what is written in Thai letters on your boards footer? Will there ever be ladies polos available on waddaplaya product line? Best regards from Kiel/northern germany/the baltic sea and me, Carola

Excellent video. I’ve been noticing a lot more of the things I do poorly and the things I do well over the last few rounds. I still have a long way to go, but I’ve noticed worlds of improvement in my approach game by not playing copy paste golf like I used to. The GIR have increased from MAYBE 1-2 to 4-7 per round. Just having putts for birdie even if you don’t make all of them is definitely a confidence booster. The punch shot has also allowed me to salvage holes where my hybrid tee shot has abandoned me. Keep up the good work! Cheers from Texas.

Honestly brilliant, and although I know a lot of what you speak of I had not accounted for the lie having so much impact, but of course it does. It's all too easy to be at the " perfect distance from the green" but find your ball has run out into the shite, or landed in a divot mark, so your favourite club winks at you, you take the perfect club for the distance with no other consideration and the end result is a worm burner 50 yards further into the shite. Thank you for your wisdom.
hey Matty, can you please post a link of your video on How to make your own yardage book? Thanks mate. your a champ...
Sick shirt bro!
Don’t do like dat! 😂. Love the videos! Keep ‘em coming!!
Taken myself from high 90's to consistent low 90's and the occasional 80's round with your methods baus. Realising that just because I can hit a club that distance, doesn't make it the right club to hit. I had 100m out, downhill lie to a downhill green, which is a 56 degree distance. But 8 iron was the club for a 80m punch, 20m roll-out and use the hill to my advantage. Easy stress free golf 🙌

"Realising that just because I can hit a club that distance, doesn't make it the right club to hit" This is golden wisdom so profound, it should be in the first 5 lessons anyone ever has in golf
I wish I had watched this video before playing Quintero in Arizona! The Bermuda made me feel like I'd never swung a club before. It took about 13 holes until I just said, "screw it" and used my hybrid exclusively on every approach. His explanation just gave that "aha" moment!
Things aren’t falling apart. They’re falling into place. Love that.
I love this guy
First time I scored under 80 following most of your advices without any drive shot ! (this weapon is clearly not for me yet). I hit most of the fairways and hit my ball on safe and clear zone to be able to reach the greens. One important thing as well : the putting odds were with me this day !
You won’t learn this in any biology 101 course but it is 100% science
You wouldn't pay a golf pro for a lesson on reading lies, but you should. You wouldn't spend an hour on the green reading grains, but you should. Thanks Matt.
Had these thoughts in my head yesterday. Cracked 80 for the second time this year. (79) par 72 11 Cap. Thanks playa

More Great information although more then I can keep in my melon at the moment. At least I can remember basics ball below feet goes right, above goes left, down hill right, up hill left. Little baby steps towards becoming a better Playa. Thanks as always for your videos. You do a Great service for golfers Worldwide. Pretty F@CK!NG Amazing
My strokes gained is getting myself in bad putting spots, I usually hit the ball close to where I’m trying but I don’t think about what gets me a guarantee 2 putt. I like to be uphill as much as possible. I find my bogeys are when I hit the green or just outside from downhill lies, but if I’m uphill I get par/birdie chances. I’ve shaved so much off my game watching your videos, I’m a low 80s high 70s golfer 79-84 consistently but it’s always coming down to if I would been in this position in the first place that would be a stroke shaved on atleast 5 holes per round

I am at wits end. My shortgame is always stable, I make ups and downs, I putt once or twice, but..... I just wake up in the morning and that determines my swing which determines my hcp of the day. Somtimes it's a 8, sometimes it's a 36, I am not kidding I am that inconsistent. I can shoot 80ish one day and 100 the next time, I am THAT inconsistent, and it all comes down to one thing: lost balls of the tee. I just lost 10 balls in a round, STILL shooting 98, which kinda shows how solid my short game is. And although I do hit quite far, I play quite defensively, choosing the club I feel most confident with for the given tee. I hardly ever use driver. And still, there are days like today where I spray 10 balls into the water, forest, farmers house, cow field, neighboring village.... My whole hcp is just governed by lost balls. No issues putting, not with chipping, never stuck in bunkers, and I almost always make the "par" with my second tee ball, but score-wise that's of course a double bogey. I really don't know what to do, I love golf so much, I have never enjoyed anything recreational as much as golf, but on days like today, I really need to bite my lip. No one seems to have this issue. All my friends are just duffing and fluffing and three putting around the green and missing approaches when they have a bad day. I stand alone with my issue - if there is anyone out there with the same issue, I would love to hear. Best I can describe it, on days like today, my swing is really "totally gone", I have no clue where the hands go, how to get my body and arms to harmonize, it all feels strange and awkward and the clubs feel weird at backswing already, which then ripples all the way down to the dreadful tee shots...
@thedadgolfer
Жыл бұрын
I know the feeling. What I did was just try to punch every shot. Half swing with a 7 iron off the tee, whatever got the ball in play then punch the next club. I did this until I got my confidence back. It turns out you can get the yips with every club in the bag! Stick with it my man, it’ll come good in the bitter end.

My best round 85 was with a 2nd balls which i purchased in 10+1 for 8$
I do have one problem that I find, teeing up a 4 hybrid I can hit it 210, but hit it off the deck it’s a 160 shot. It’s still a good strike but for some reason i have to carry a secondary club to carry the same distance off the fairway. Leaves me with a gap in my bag.
Okay so I got really distracted trying to identify the 7 iron at the end. It looks a lot like my clubs but I doubt you’re using component brands 🤔

Matt’s love of lie assessment is refreshing. You just don’t see this very often.
In a long par 4, the hdc 1 of the course, really narrow and with left to right slope, out of bounds on leftside, water on right, would you recommend punch shot as second shot? I really liked the video! Deep knowledge
@GolfSidekick
Жыл бұрын
depends where you are on the hole. how long is it? If you're in the fairway or rough and have a clear shot, then you can setup your final approach shot to whatever you desire. If it's 430 yards for example, can you leave yourself your favorite distance to the green? Let's say you like 90 yards You have to go 340 yards to get there Can you hit two shots 340 yards easily? I think so If your handicap is more than 18, then double bogey is a good score so you need to hit the green in 4 shots and 2 putt. Can you do it I think so

It’s true about new balls . I only use second hand balls and don’t care if I lose them and don’t lose many any more
I used this mindset today whilst playing 9 holes: 4/4, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 3/3, 5/4, 6/4, 4/4 & 4/3 = +4….38/34…. It’s occurring to me that 50% of this game is half mental….🤔⛳️ It seemed to take all the pressure off making the current shot….😊 Know thyself…🌀
I buy grade A used balls from the internet. Way cheaper than retail for the same ball. Also, I can find just about anything I want to try.

LAL - Legendary Advice Legend
I’ll actually make a counter argument to the “use cheaper balls” thing. For me, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this, I feel a whole lot more confident when I’m standing over a super fresh ProV1. Golf is just so mental that for me that extra confidence boost is worth it. In addition, when I do lose a ball, I’m upset no matter what ball I’m hitting because I just hit it out of bounds and am now gonna take a huge score on the hole. That’s just how I think though, could definitely be very different for other people.
