MIYAZAKI, JAPAN - Welcome to Miyazaki prefecture on the island of Kyushu in Southern Japan! Miyazaki is home to the best Japanese wagyu beef in all of Japan. Today we have the special opportunity to go to a wagyu farm in the mountains and then go to the city to eat at the most well known steak teppanyaki restaurant and sample this award winning Japanese beef!
We all have heard of Kobe Beef, but in Japan, Miyazaki Wagyu is considered the best beef in the country - and not only considered but they’ve actually won the Japanese Wagyu Olympics! We first drove in the mountains of Miyzaki to a Wagyu ranch where we learned the secret as to why it’s so good - the owner explained that it’s the natural environment - clean air and fresh water that are huge contributors to the quality of beef.
After sampling some of their beef ham we then headed to the most famous restaurant in Miyazaki to taste their A5 Miyazaki wagyu steaks at a teppanyaki restaurant.
Miyachiku Beef Teppanyaki: goo.gl/maps/z8r2v1F5edy3pE8R6
I ordered a few of their highest grade steaks and they did a full teppanyaki show cooking the beef on the hot iron griddle along with bread to soak up the juices. It was an amazing experience, and truly of the best Japanese beef ever!

Mark is on point. Kobe became a well recognized brand probably because its easy to pronounce and remembered by westerners, also by the earthquake in 95, and even perhaps of Kobe Bryant. Matsusaka is generally considered the best beef in Japan by the Japanese. However, there is no much difference between these heavyweights and Miyazaki. Matsusaka and Kobe are very much overpriced due to their brand recognition. Miyazaki (and other brands as well) is the go to beef in Japan,if you really want your value for money. Nevertheless expensive though!

Yes, I agree. There are 46 types Wagyu in Japan. They are made in each prefecture except Tokyo. In deatail, there are a little gap among them. But many people can not distingush these taste gaps except professionals. I hope foreign visitors enjoy all of Wagyu. Matsusaka Wagyu are only femail beacouse femal meat is very soft.

See I was right 😇🥰 this Japan series is turning out to be one of the best work #MarkWiens has done. The location, the quality of food, and of course the infectious happy, exciting Mark Wiens vibe. Priceless...just priceless #FoodAndFoodiesShallPrevail 🤘

I really enjoyed the whole video. From the farm to restaurant fresh dinning. I love how they served it. On bread 🍞 to hold on to all the flavor. Than the bread 🥖 is served as well. Amazing 🤩 from start to finish.

I notice Mark brings his family everywhere with him. Pretty cool honestly. I figure if I ever had a wife I might do something similar to this.

Best, most appetizing food I've seen in a long time. I was especially quite taken with the ceramic dinnerware used at the teppanyaki restaurant. Beautiful!
