I never realized how awful heart break was. After the breakup my heart was beating so fast and so "loud" for weeks. The first week, I couldn't even hear people at work because my ears were filled with the sound of my heart beating. I constantly felt like I was going to vomit or faint. I also could not eat. Food tasted like nothing. I could not sleep so I was also delirious and erratic. The crying and lack of food/water left me dehydrated.

Sleep is the only escape I get from my heartbreak, but sometimes that doesn't even help because I'll see her in my dreams. EDIT: 4 years later it definitely gets easier haha; smoke weed, hit the gym, make money and hang out with your friends

I just recently had my heart broken. My first relationship, the first person I've ever loved in a romantic way, all of those memories are thrown away forever. I'll never be able to experience those memories with them again, things will never be the same between us even though we've agreed to stay friends. The absolute worst is hearing that "it's not you, it's me" when you know deep in your heart you could've done something to change the outcome, and to hear that person say "you'll find someone else" is heartbreaking because it feels like you were matched with the perfect person, and now they're gone forever

Sora Flower I read in the acknowledgement part of a book this quote that said 'For (name) who loved me enough to let me go' and I never thought I'd be comforted right at the acknowledgements while reading a book. But it's true, if you really love them you have to let them go and if they come back, it was always meant to be. If they don't, accept it, and find consolation in everything else. After I was heartbroken a year ago, I was experiencing heart pain physically. My heart would actually heart a few times.

⁠I always forget what it really feels like and when it happens it’s like I lose any emotional intelligence I’ve ever had. Seeing other people give advice and talk about similar experiences really helps ground me and understand that they just weren’t the person for me no matter how much I may have loved them or wanted them to stay.

The cause for actual pain is that after something extreme either psychological or physical, the body is producing an immense amount of stress hormones which then can cause negative reactions to your heart. So a friendship can definitely be a cause for that. This syndrome is not related to any specific thing. It could even be the loss of something you value like a an object.

If they really want you, they will still be with you. Everything else is just an excuse. Take a long break from dating. You'll need it.

Kai You i'm basically in the same situation. To put it simple I really love this one girl and she made me smile every day. We dated and stuff and eventually she was not interested anymore and decided to end it. I feel so lost without her and it sucks. It's very painful especially since it was the only real friend I had. Kai You Damn dude, I know how it feels. The girl is moving and it hurts because you see her moving on and you staying and trying to get her back. I still love her, it's hard not to. Me and my girl talked about marriage too. I met her parents and her siblings and went to family reunions and her family loved me. My family knew her and she went to my family meetings. So it's hard as hell, even after a month of us being apart. I understand how you feel. It's hard for me because this was my first love and it's heartbreaking. We'll get better soon. Be strong dude, try to think about something else. There is someone out there better than her waiting for you, trust me.

when i'm going through hard times or heartbreaks I prefer to be alone. It helps me get a better perspective of myself than me surrounded with people and ignoring the issue only to make it worse.

"Human beings would prefer to be inflicted with physical pain over feeling social occlusion." That is both profoundly sad, but also shows the beauty and importance of relationships of all kinds.

Yeah me to it was 😭

I found out the guy I loved for a year stopped loving me back one day. All feelings for me, gone. I was heartbroken. Couldn't eat. BUT now I'm eating and I'm moving on :). Thought I would marry that guy even. I was wrong...but the man I WILL marry is out there somewhere :).

Sarina you just need to keep your ex's number for the rest of your life. Send them pictures of your hot future husband/wife (whatever your preferences are) and send them the middle finger emoji whenever you're angry. If they're too mental to recognize what they're missing out on, it's their fault. 🖕Screw 'em.

Sarina W, it's hard, and it stinks. I'm still stinging and it's been a couple months. There's no miracle cure, and it gets worse before it gets better. Just try to keep moving forward. Do things you enjoy and focus on the positive things that you have. At some point it gets better. Hang in there.

I have felt this pain before. When you loved someone so much, and one day it ends, your heart hurts, time feels like it stopped for a moment, and days feel so long. I too thought that things were going so well. My ex and I dated for almost 2 years. Eventually, you learn a lot from the break up. Word of advice, don't force yourself to be happy. If you do, you're really just hurting yourself even more. To be truly happy, you'd learn to move on and accept that everything happens for a reason. It will always be a lesson of learning. I am in another relationship now, but it took me a while to move on before getting into another relationship. You don't always need get into another relationship to be happy. It's always nice to bring positivity here. :) It may take time to move on, but you will soon learn to see what's better for yourself. Eventually you'll find someone new and maybe even be happier than the last relationship. If not, you can love yourself as in making sure to take care of your needs. Don't forget those around you that still care for you. Life goes on, and so do we.

Around the time after I turned 30 I started to feel exactly what this video talks about. In the last I felt very defined emotional pain and physical pain. They were always separate and different. But when I started to experience some anxiety or having episodes of depression after my 30s I felt a very clear type of physical pain. It feels kind of like every muscle in your body at once hurts. Not as intensely as individual physical pain, but because it’s everywhere at once it feels very bad and severe.

Maybe the other girl liked him also. Maybe she told him how she felt about him, just before you were going to. The thing about guys, is we are terrified of rejection. Especially in front of others. If you tell him how you feel, if he likes you back, he'll ask you out. Guys just don't want to get rejected especially in front of other people.

Heartbroken. I still feel a lot of pain. Nobody will ever be like her, I hope we'll meet again. She promised. But for now, I'm under pills and social support. Damn, it's so painful.

This is my first heartbreak and all I feel is numb like I can’t even cry

My aunt died not even a month ago very spontaneously. No one expected her to die, and she was young. One day after her funeral my uncle (his wife) died. We found out he had a broken heart, and literally couldn’t be alive without her.

Neglected, stuck on homeschool, and I'm not allowed to hangout with friends unless my parents get to know them, they don't care enough to get to know them. Now I remember why I promised myself to not get into a relationship, and I shouldn't have broken that promise 💔

I am suffering from a broken heart right now, and it is bad, really bad. He was the first person that I really loved, he was the one person I could talk to about anything in the world, he was the one person that made me finally understand the true meaning of love songs and romantic movies. Fullfilling his wishes and needs and making him happy was the best feeling in the world. Everything was perfect and it seemed like it was meant to be, but then he said he needed time to get his feelings straight because he never really had time to work through his break up with his former girlfriend. He broke up with here two weeks before met met. Yesterday I found out, that they are kind of working things out so they can get back together. I am miserable right now and I feel taken advantage of.

I am probably replying too late but I am almost going through the same thing. I met this guy who broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years (they lived together for 3) a month before we met. I broke up with my ex too because I wasn't in love anymore (yeah, broke his heart too...) so when we met, it was pure attraction. We became friends with benefits and everything was good, but then we started spending time together and the months past. At the end we would meet and not even sleep together, we would do normal things like cooking, working out, going to the theater. And eventually we talked about it and we stated that I was going in the same direction, we were beginning to feel like we could at some point start a relationship but we wanted to wait. Then one day he comes to me and tells me that he can't be with me and give me a serious relationship right now, so he kept his distance for a week. Then he came back and we tried it again as before and then finally he admitted to me that he wanted to try it with his ex again. So puff.. Everything disappeared as if it were nothing. Aand I am so sad, we shared so many good things we laughed together all the time, we did stupid things together and I truly had hope... But he was just thinking about her this whole time....i just want the pain to be over

Its a shame, that moment in your life when you realise you are wasting the only time you have here alone. And you try to change that by trying to start living life, but you can't really find anyone to experience life with. Then your stuck at the beginning with the thought of wasted time in your head. I always underestimated ppl who said heartbreaks were hard, yeah i’d already been through one but it was different It took me months to heal and I did but it didn’t hurt as much as this one. Every time i see this persons story or with their friends I get sick to my stomach , it hurts so bad I wanna cry but cant anymore it hurts so bad that my whole body aches. Heart breaks are incredibly hard and to this day those who get over it or find each other again and it works I admire bc it is hard going from all the time to nothing anymore and having that boundary of just friends. They always say if your friends with an ex you say you loved you either never rlly loved them or where deeply in love and tbh your first love will hurt bad bad. It hurts so bad I just wanna curl up and cry but I cant.

To all the broken hearted people on here and in reality. All we want is to be loved and accepted. Through all the mistakes we make, through all the pain we go through. I feel intense pain when I’m sad, and my parents gave my Cat to the spca recently and I feel so much pain. But I have no friends and my family isn’t their for me

I once heard that "You are able to close your eyes to the things you don't want to see, but you can't close your heart to the things you don't want to feel." Emotional pain hurts more than any physical injury you can fathom in this ever unfair world.

being with friends and family= being more social = more chances of getting hurt by people = depression. instead of that.. try working on something which u love..I think that can help!
