I don’t remember how old I was, but my Santa reality check came when I caught my mom covering the tooth fairy’s shift. From there I made the connection that Santa probably works the same way. I lost a bit of the magic, but I kept my love for the holidays. And frankly it made me appreciate everything parents go through to make it happen.

My dad told me he got a picture of Santa one year. I waited weeks for him to finally develop the film. It was my mom with a Santa hat and a red sweater. I could tell because she had the damn wedding ring on, lol. I was blown. But my parents tell me I already stopped believing before then because some kid in school told me.
I love when the two second scene popped up showing what the E.L.F.S. acronym stood for, he looked away to ponder why they said ELFS instead of Elves, and completely missed it 🤣

This was the first live action Tim Allen movie I saw growing up, the second being Jungle To Jungle, The third being Galaxy Quest, and the Fourth being Santa Clause 2.

Yes, if you like Tim Allen, you'll like 'Jungle 2 Jungle' it's so underrated but so funny :)
I grew up watching this and, man, so much of the humor lands differently now that I'm an adult.
This is a "kids" movie. I say that cause there is adult humor/jokes within the movie that makes it both a kids/adult movie.Same goes for the movie Jingle All The Way which is another great Christmas movie.
The sequels are both worth checking out 2 is almost as good as the original the 3rd one isn't as good as the first 2 but is still worth watching

He was a savage on home improvement 😂 all the al and als mom jokes lol
I was 7 when I stopped believing, I remember I was outside playing and got to thinking that the idea of The Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny and Santa being real sounded ridiculous so I went back inside asked my mom if they were real and she looked like she looked shocked when I asked but she did end up telling me the truth and when I was heading back outside she said "I'm glad you know the truth now cause I'm tired of that Fat Bastard getting the credit for what I got you for Christmas" me and her both laughed
Growing up this was not just the best Christmas movie but every Christmas Eve we made it a tradition to go to Denny's for dinner
this movie is part of my holiday tradition. both of the sequels are definitely worth the watch so you should check them out for sure. btw, E.L.F.S. stands for Elf Liberation Flight Squad.
25:45 I love how you looked away when the camera showed the acronym for the E.L.F.S. which stands for Effective Liberating Flight Squad. XD

Love this time of year, cause I can drink eggnog without people looking at me like I’m crazy.
if you watch carefully there's several hidden elves throughout the movie! i don't remember them all but theres one posing as a student in charlie's classroom and i think theres another on his soccer team too
Sorry to disappoint you, but not really. Santa was completely real at one point. He was a carpenter who made toys and delivered them to orphaned children. He had a big bushy beard, wore red as a preference, pulled a sleigh with reindeer. Because that's all that was available.
My childhood memories of Christmas will always tie this movie into "work" parties. As a kid, our home christmas movies were the classics - the grinch, rudolph, frosty the snowman.... and one Christmas, my dad got invited to a Christmas party at his boss's house. The only thing I really remember was going upstairs with the other kids, and watching this movie that night, and Elf. Made a huge impression on me, and ever since the nostalgia is strong with this flick.
This brings back memories when I was a kid. About a little over than 10 years ago, when I was in elementary school, I wrote a letter to Santa Clause to get me a toy. I didn’t receive anything. I’m 22 now, and everyone are Santa Clause because we buy what we want without asking 😂😂😂
I only like the specialty eggnogs from Hood, vanilla and sugar cookie.🙂 Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and of course Rudolph.😉
Now that I’m older, I didn’t notice that Scott’s name initials were S.C.
Home Improvement is one of my favourite TV shows starting Tim Allen.
My parents and me watched this movie growing up every Christmas. Even watch the second and third movie. They still make me laugh and smile, definitely nostalgic. Not gonna lie as a kid I had a crush on Bernard XD I hope that it wasn't just me?
I am a 15 years old kid and i still believe in Santa Clause I feel it inside my heart. I love this movie and this video will be awesome!!

The whole Santa Clause series are my absolute fave Christmas films!
I can name all the reindeer thanks to my eidetic memory! I know the names from watching Jingle All The Way when he’s going to try & win the Turbo Man doll at the radio station LOL!
The Santa Claus 2 is actually pretty good imo
So growing up I actually saw the second movie first, and I sort of enjoy that one better. I would say that the weakest of this trilogy is easily the 3rd, but all three movies are much more watchable than the Home Alone movies post Lost in New York.

I remember I found out the Tooth Fairy wasn't real first, and then figured out from there that the rest weren't real either. I was sleeping over my cousins house and they spilled the beans and told me the tooth fairy was really my parents. I must have been 6 or 7.
@krazycatz

As a child I never told my parents or anyone else when I lost a tooth. I would simply put it under my pillow for the tooth fairy who always left a coin under my pillow at home. It was when I was away at summer camp for two weeks that I learned the truth. The first week of camp another girl in my cabin lost a tooth and told everyone about it. She put the tooth under her pillow and the next morning found some money under her pillow. The second week I lost a tooth and as it had been one of the teeth in the back of the mouth no one could tell by looking at me that I had lost a tooth. I simply put the tooth under my pillow and waited for the real tooth fairy to show up. The next morning I found my tooth under the pillow where I had left it. Years later mother told me that I was the sneaky one in the family. Every night after I had fallen asleep she would carefully check under my pillow to see if there was a tooth there, and to exchange it with a coin if she found a tooth. 🦷🪙🦷🪙🦷🪙
I actually still believe cuz we were outside one night on Xmas eve with my family & I looked up & saw a red streak fly across the sky & it just had to be red! One of the craziest things that happened to me as a kid! BTW I was at work the other day no one in the store but me & the door flies open by itself I walked over looked outside no cars mo people! They said people that work their see stuff all the time! Not to mention the door latches so not even wind could open it plus no wind! 😳😳😳😳

That’s exactly how I found out
Santa clause 2 is my favorite of the trilogy
I actually have three stories to share about Santa Claus. Story #1: When I was a young child my parents used to take me and my sisters who were around my age to see Santa Claus at a local store. I have brothers and another sister who are ten years older than us so they were considered to old by that one time to be seeing Santa Claus. As I am the youngest child in the family my sisters got to tell Santa (one at a time) what they wanted for Christmas. After we had all told Santa what we each wanted for Christmas our parents would ask us what we had asked Santa to bring each of us for Christmas. My sisters would immediately tell our parents what they had asked Santa to bring them for Christmas. I on the other hand knew that Santa Claus was real and refused to tell my parents what I had even asked Santa for Christmas. Christmas morning my sisters would all find the presents they had asked for under the Christmas tree. There would be some nice Christmas presents from Santa Claus under the Christmas tree for me too, just not what I had asked Santa to bring me. Story #2: This is actually a story about one of my older brothers when my brothers and oldest sister were young children, before I or my other sisters were even born. At this time father got off work about an hour before school ended for the day for my brothers and sister. One day my parents picked up my brothers and sister after school and took them to see Santa Claus. This brother in question was the youngest at the time and had to wait until our other brother and sister had seen Santa Claus. This of course a story I heard directly from the brother involved after both of our parents had died. Santa asked my brother his name. My brother told Santa his name. Santa then asked my brother if he had been a good boy. My brother assured Santa that he had been a very good boy. Now we suspect that while father was at work mother had paid a visit to Santa Claus and told him all about her children. Santa told my brother that he knew my brother was not telling him the truth. Santa then told my brother in detail every naughty thing he had seen my brother do. Brother said from that day until Christmas he was careful to be on his best behavior. Story #3: This is what I learned as an adult about the true story of Santa Claus. In the third or fourth century in Asia Minor if a man died owing any money his wife and children could legally be sold into slavery to pay off this debt. According to the story there lived in the area the son of an extremely wealthy family. Whenever he heard a rumor about a family that was about to be sold into slavery he found out how much money they owed. He would secretly entered their home at night and leave enough money for them to pay off the debt and a little extra so if they lived modestly would not have to worry about every being in debt again. It was only after the death of this son of a wealthy family that it was revealed who he was and what he did. He was named Saint Nicholas from where we later got the name Santa Claus.
I don't remember at what age, maybe 8. I wrote a note to santa asking if he could take a picture of himself, with my handme down camera. I applaud my dad tho cause he photoshopped a santa infront of a picture of our tree. But from watching my dad use photoshop before plus the fact that the picture didn't show up on the camera when I put in the sd card.
I was about 10 years old when I realized Santa didn't exist. I found out because the signature on the gifts from my mom matched the signature on gifts from Santa.
35:59 I hear you. One year I wanted to leave santa beer instead of milk LOL

Never had "the Santa" conversation with my kids. They've figured it out on their own when they got old enough... but they still played along for a few years because they enjoyed it and knew us parents enjoyed the game too. It was kind of "they know that we know that they know" but nobody ever said anything to not ruin the traditions lol

I remember once reading a story about a little girl of about 5 or 6 years old who told her parents she no longer believed in Santa Claus and refused to put out any milk and cookies for him. Nothing her father said would change her mind. Later on Christmas Eve the mother was surprised to see her husband helping their daughter put out bowls of dry oatmeal. When the mother question what was going on her husband replied that while their daughter no longer believed in Santa Claus she did believe that the reindeer brought children Christmas presents.
I wonder how many people know that The Santa Clause was probably inspired by the Piers Anthony novel, On A Pale Horse, the first book in his Incarnations of Immortality series, about a man who accidentally kills the Grim Reaper during a suicide attempt and then has to assume the mantle of the Grim Reaper from that point on?
at 19:23 is the coffee Elf from when he first gets to the North Pole. They check on him and help him out. It took me so many years to notice her, but she's standing behind the bench with the line of kids. Cool detailed stuff!

Took me years to notice too. All the elves seen running away from the crowd at the end are in earlier scenes of the film. Also there are elves in almost every scene hiding watching him on second viewing they become easier to see
I love this movie
“Seeing isn’t believing, believing is seeing.” It’s crazy how many people say “I’ll believe [x] when I see it.” People who say this won’t believe anything they don’t want to believe, even if they do see it or if the evidence for such is overwhelming. Scott’s actions and words the night he became Santa were the perfect example of this. He was confronted with all the evidence in the world of Santa’s existence. He saw Santa himself, the reindeer and sleigh, the elves and the workshop in the North Pole, along with all the magic, and Charlie was right there with him the whole entire time experiencing everything he did. Yet the entire night he tried to deny and/or rationalize everything he saw. Even after that night he continued to try and convince himself it was all a dream despite the evidence to the contrary and despite Charlie insisting that everything was real. It doesn’t matter how much evidence people are confronted with. They will not believe anything they don’t want of believe, and they will try to find excuses or ways to invalidate the evidence they are confronted with.
Man I remember watching this movie on ABC family every year as a kid 😭

The second and third movies are both really good! The second one is my personal favorite out of the three.
My grandmother had an enough tree that stayed up for a very long time
This trilogy is a great series. Tim Allen does a great job as Santa Claus. You should check out the tv series “The Santa Clauses” it changes the way you look at the movies when you get through the season. You’ll also understand why Bernard is the way he is. I’m in my 40s and still technically believe in Santa Claus. Since Jr high I’ve thought of him as a spirit of giving that lives in everyone. The thing about Scott losing his visitation rights is it wasn’t even his ex-wife’s decision. Neil doesn’t want Scott in the picture at all so he saw it as a way to get what he wants.
I felt really old when I found out the main E.L.F.S. kid is now 40 years old.
I found out Santa wasn't real whenever I realized that he had the same wrapping paper as my mom.
The Santa Clause 2 is my favorite of the 3!
More people hate the Home Alone films then Hate the Santa Clause ones I wouldn't call them bad or the worst but they do have parts that are less good. But they are better then the Home Alones, Jingle All the Way 2, or Christmas Story 2
I just turned 37, and I STILL write a letter every year and leave out cookies. I don't ask for toys anymore, but I ask for more intangible things. Never stop believing.
I was in 5th grade 2005 when I stop believing in Santa, my mom gave me a hint when I was curious to what was wrapped present. I put two and two together feeling she got me the toy I liked. It was a Bionicle Toa Takanuva set. Though I am older now there is this feeling on December I get sometimes like a heartwarming inner child feel. Plus it happens when seeing polar express lol.
You should do the second one this year! I like it just as much as this one🎄🎄
