Enjoy my reaction as I watch and give my "Old Lady" perspective on what some people call a "Christmas Classic" (but I wouldn't go that far): The Santa Clause. A solid base hit starring Tim Allen. It just lacks a certain something to make it fabulous.

Filmed in Oakville, Ontario - Toronto, Ontario - then in studio in L.A. The Scott Calvin house is still there, the neighbourhood where he drives in at the beginning - the town of Oakville is featured at the beginning with Swiss interiors store. Highway was the DVP in Toronto (surprising empty and not jammed with traffic). Then Neal and Laura's house is in Oakville as well. Scott Calvin house 17 Chisholm Oakville, Ontario Laura & Neal house 1176 Carey Road Oakville, Ontario My grandfather worked on this movie. This was filmed in the early spring and summer of 1994 after Season 3 of Home Improvement wrapped.
Something I’ve always wondered (I’ve seen this movie a minimum of 100x) is if the Santa that fell off Scott’s roof had the same initials (SC) before becoming Santa too.

Step parents always need to feel like their part of the family so Neal Interjecting as a parent ain’t bad but he def is repressed I some way more than others 😂😂😂

12:46 -- Now this is what I don't get, the elves don't even acknowledge the previous Santa in anyway! No tribute, no moment of silence, nothing! And what happens to his wife if he had one? I guess the elves are like Ivan Drago (Rocky 4) and are all like, "If he dies, he dies"?

This is a good point! Scott has a kid too, what happens when he dies? Does the kid have to be like "well, my dad became Santa when I was 8 so . . . I didn't see him much."
21:11 -- These kind of meals are way too "grown-up" for my taste. :( Can't I get like burgers/fries or pizza or Kentucky Fried Chicken or something? :(
Why is Bernard telling Scott to be due back by (American) Thanksgiving? Last I checked the North Pole is NOT part of the US and Santa's jurisdiction is the whole world (well the parts that have Santa anyway)!

Also a good point! Although they do say at one point that not everyone celebrates Christmas. A lot about this movie doesn't make sense.

@@OldLadyReacts Well that's what I mean about the parts of the world that have Santa. If the North Pole is under any country's jurisdiction I would think it'd be Canada, eh?
