Welcome to Old Lady Reacts, where I, the Old Lady in question, react to action and super hero films that I haven't seen!
I decided to start a reaction channel because I’m a HUGE movie buff. I love watching all of the young youtubers reactions to movies that I know and love from my younger days, the only problem being . . . I’ve seen almost everything out there! All those great 80’s and 90’s blockbusters, those classic Christmas movies, I worked at a video store for three years right after college, I’ve seen them all! EXCEPT . . . super hero and action movies. And this year, WandaVision came out and it looked really interesting but I haven’t watched it yet because I know that I’ll miss most of the inside jokes. And that would make me sad. So, let’s start watching super hero movies!
Please leave comments on references I missed and connections with other movies as well as recommendations on what to watch next as I definitely need to know what order to watch movies in!

I did not think the movie earned smiles and chuckles. The mundane and mindless activities were sobering and concerning.
So I’m not going to be at all condescending or mean …. If I come across that way it isn’t intentional. But unlike some I quite enjoyed this reaction from you… your skepticism threw me a little bit at times but all in all he made me laugh but a couple things number one you really should like another comment or said react to some actual footage of like the Joplin tornado or even the Gerald Texas tornado, which was just a fluke when it happened I think it would show you that there is very little that they got wrong in this movie. It’s pretty accurate scientifically pretty I’m not saying it’s perfect here just your basic F3 tornado back in. I guess it was 97 in the panhandle of Texas we didn’t know that it was happening because of warning time until we could see it ourselves and I live in like a city they drop out of nowhere and they are very unpredictable. We have gotten better with warning times now but back then no they had no warning. that truly is the only issue I really had with your reaction was the fact that you not convinced that they had no warning they had literally and when they said that they could increase warning times up to 15 minutes that was the fallacy in Pam don’t think that I’ve ever known that unless it’s just been, the tornado itself has been going on for a long time so people get the warning but right off the bat when they first dropped those first people in line to get hit they do not have but minutes.
“This story could have been told in 45 minutes!!” See, there’s this thing called atmosphere…
Funny reaction... I just noticed for the first time... At first it was his right eye that he cut out but when he put the sunglasses on it was his left eye... Let me watch that again...
Thanks for doing this reaction. I been wanting to watch a Michael Clayton reaction for a couple of years but no one had done it. Do you have any insight on why? Are some movie studios less tolerant of KZread reactions than others? Thanks again!
I love this video so much I wanna do videos like this but my videos always get removed/taken down any suggestions ?!
You have to be careful how much of the movie you show. I only do about 6 seconds at a time, maybe less. And if there's music, that's even harder to get past the copyright demons.
"This is very weird music." Twister has one of the greatest scores of all time.
Your laugh is gorgeous, thanks for sharing your gift
Aw, thank you!
RIP to Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
Skeet Ulrich was casted bc of how similar he looked to Johnny Depp in Nightmare on Elm Street .
That makes a lot of sense, actually! I can totally see it.
Stupid reaction
Hi there ! Just found your channel, love the reactions, I remember this film really well! Keep up the good work 👍. Regards your latest Australian subscriber 🇦🇺
Aw, thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah, I can't hang in there with you, ma'am. Every time you say something negative about the movie, it's ridiculous. It's a movie. It's a movie. It's fake and I can't watch you.Yeah you're too much for me
This isn't the airport honey, you don't have to announce your departure.
My only problem with you, ma'am. Is that you try to poke holes through stuff? And you need to understand that the movie won a lot of awards. You need to understand it to 1996. And it's tiring to have to hear you. Try to poke holes through the movie either. You sit there and watch It. If you don't like it, watch something else
One of my favorite movies - for the reasons you like it too. Smart, cool, and yet very humanistic. A clumsier take on the David-Goliath story of a has-been lawyer taking on a corporation would have taken the narrative in a straight-on, linear way. This movie wrapped the D-G tale in the more compelling character study of a man who is devoted father, a frustrated brother, and an anxious, caring friend.
Here is my vote for a movie to watch, very popular right now. Godzilla Minus One. Even if you have never seen a Godzilla movie or have seen several, it doesn't matter. This one stands alone. It is entirely in Japanese and is subtitled. It won the Academy Award for special effects, and was made on a budget of under $15 million (including the advertising campaign. I think the actual cost was under $12 mil). This is a great drama and the first Godzilla film that is more focused on the story of the characters than the monster.
I thought about doing that one! I could be fun, I think!
I love the part where they drive through the house and a teddy bear hits the windshield and squeaks like a rubber ducky. 28:45 My wife and I saw this in the theaters in May 1996 shortly after it came out. Very impressive technology for the day, I remember leaving the theater and being surprised that is was blue skies and a sunny day, hahaha. My wife *loved* disaster films, so calling this Disaster P0rn is perfect for this film. That is all it was. They invented new tech to make realistic tornadoes and rushed to build a film around that ability. The story was pretty bad. We really liked Helen Hunt, but there was just no chemistry with Bill Paxton (RIP). The entire romantic subplot was silly and unnecessary. After the initial adrenaline rush of seeing the movie, we both looked back on it and made a lot of jokes about the actual story. OH! Here is a fun story for you. Fox television made an almost identical made-for-TV movie, possibly based on a leaked copy of the script for Twister. It was called "Tornado!" (with the exclamation point) and released on TV May 7th, 1996, three days before Twister's opening weekend. It starred Bruce Campbell and Ernie Hudson. It has the same plot about a device that releases scores of little sensors to be picked up by the tornado and they have to anchor it down so it won't fly away. The special effects were much cheaper and I think it had a better love story.
Nice. I love this movie. One of few that''s exactly what it's supposed to be, and doesn't try to be more than that. Well executed action. Of course, it has its silliness, but I'd say the least of the late 90's cadre of 'disaster' flicks...
That is a good poing. It doesn't profess to be anything but a fun and stimulating night out at the movies.
What's with the movie Twister today? This is the third post for the same movie that I've seen today.
The new one is coming out on Friday so we all want to A. see it so we know what we're talking about when people post about the new one and B. get in on that keyword algorythm.
Good to see you
Howdy!
This film and man of steel sure like putting dogs in danger of tornados which is odd. I have a friend who grew up in a state with tornadoes and he and his family ALWAYS made sure to take the dog with them so this is imo odd. I don't think dog owners forget their dogs as much as these films portray. I guess Hollywood feels middle Americans forget their dogs in tornadoes???
Exactly! The first thing I would think about in an emergency is my cat. I would never leave her behind! We actually had a fire in my last apartment building and the alarms in the hallway were a lot louder than inside my apartment. The second I stepped outside with her in my arms, she went CRAZY! I have the scratches on my face and neck to prove it. But it's OK, cuz she was coming with me no matter what.
@@OldLadyReacts EXACTLY! People who live in areas that have natural disasters keep good track of their pets in emergencies typically unless they are already pet owners. It's just interesting to see how Hollywood portrays people living in areas that have tornadoes. It's kind of goofy and unrealistic but it's okay it's a movie lol. It just FEEL like they portray people as if they haven't lived in an areas with tornadoes like if a Californian family experienced for the first time and forgot their pet in the chaos. My friend and his family made sure their dog and chickens were always protected during storms
It can be sunny right before a tornado hits. Some crazy stuff is true. Some is totally ridiculous!
If you can do it in a way to be monetized please consider reacting to real tornado stories. (Joplin, Moore, OK)
Have you seen Places In The Heart? There's a very realistic and scary tornado scene in that movie. And that was back in 1984 so I don't know how they did it!
We had an F5 in greenfield, iowa 2 weeks ago or so
Yeah, they're not completely unheard of!
Well....the wind speeds were I believe the newest record beating the '99 Moore tornado. Something like 320 mph +/-10. However it did not impact many structures thankfully.
Great reactions! You know too much about tornadoes and farming and life to let it all your disbelief be suspended!
Right?!! We get those around here. The hail damage on the truck did look realistic though, I'll give them that.
I love thunderstorms and lightning! In Kentucky I'll go outside when it's storming just to watch everything. But, I was on a cross-country trip once going through Kansas and a really bad storm came up. The sky turned almost black and it looked like the clouds were about 50 ft above the road I had to pull over because it felt like the sky was actually falling down on us. We pulled next to a bridge in button and stayed there for about an hour and a half till it passed. I've never seen anything like that before or since. The only time in my life I was actually scared of a storm.
We even had some crazy storms last night! I live on the top floor of my building and it was really making a lot of noise on the roof.
@@OldLadyReacts well stay safe!
Best lightning storm I ever saw was in Kansas. The kind of forked lightning that started up high and then branched and branched, it just went on and on, it seemed like it covered a huge chunk of the sky. And then again and again and again. I think I was like 12 or 13, we were stopping for the night as we were driving through. Never been to Kansas before or since, so I have kind of a magical memory of the place.
R.I.P To A Great Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, Still Miss You
Oh 100%. He was so epic. MI:3 is his best, I think.
@@OldLadyReacts Yes I Agree 💯 With You On That One,Also loved His Character On The Big Lebowski
Great Reaction To One Of My All Time Favorite Movie's Sweetheart,R.I.P To A Great Actor Bill Paxton, Still Miss You Always
"Is there an F5? , what would that be like? reply "Finger of God" worst bunch of lines from the film
I think I cut it out because it wasn't that interesting, but that statement made me google it. There are tons of F5s that have happened since way back when. I can't imagine these guys wouldn't know that.
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
I feel bad for Evie, you know that scene where it was sleeping beauty but prince charming's face is rotting, I don't know what she was more scared by...a dead man with a rotting face or the fact she just got a big whiff of 3000 yr old bad breath that tic tac couldn't help.
hey Michelle! just found your channel I was watching your alien reaction and now watching Zoolande reaction! I wanted to recommend a few old classics 2 in different genre and 2 that are in one. The 1st is a revenge theme film called Shedevil from year 1989 The second film is a a unique comedy called polyester from 1981 the third is Leviathan from 1989 a horror and the other horror which is a very rare film is called Rabid Grannies from 1988
The drunk friends r Adolph Green and Betty Comden. Friends of Bernstein. Wrote many shows together
Im happy soneone actuslly reacts to the movie and not just the trailer. You wont believe how many trailer resctions there are.
Watch We’re the Millers. Jennifer Aniston is in it also. Funny movie. And, the biscuits are just shortbreads. I remember Hannah saying that they were awful, like super dry cake and not very sweet. Said it took all her acting ability to pretend they were good. 😂 Love your reactions.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but when Dani is running while Roy is in the trash bin, the song he’s singing is the intro song in Spanish.
Oh, no I didn't realize that! Cool!
Tom Cruise, makes the perfect villain,
This is a silly movie, but it holds a place for me as it was the first movie my wife (who I wasn't even dating at that point) and I saw together. You know, back when people watched movies in the theater.
Yeah, I miss going to see a movie in the theater. If only there were still 99 cent theaters!
But why male models?
If the movie were to deal with things like Bane’s mask or the origin of Catwoman’s suit, it would be a 7 hour long movie.
Have you seen The Interview with James Franco and Seth Rogen?
If you want to see a good Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson film, watch The Royal Tenenbaums. I suspect that Owen's nose has been broken. Mine looks like his. I assume that you know that Ben's Father, Mother, Sister, and Wife were all in it.
Yes, i've seen Royal Tenenbaums. So great!
do the walk off scene
The actress who plays Katinka is Milla Jovovich. She is awesome in the resident evil movies
Hi there
Hello!
To me Zoolander was the start of the comedy renaissance of the entire decade. Zoolander, Wedding Crashers, Anchor Man, Step Brothers, Talledega nights, 40 year old Virgin, Dodgeball, Tropic Thunder, Bridesmaids was in 2011 but shot in 2010.
So True. Don't forget McLovin from Superbad
@@TheDCbiz I put the teen sex comedies in the teen sex comedies category.
@@reggiebrown9508 thats fair like Juno too or American pie films
@@TheDCbiz also Sex Drive and Eurotrip.
@@reggiebrown9508 can't forget those. What about comedies like Idiocracy?
In 1976, there was a TV movie sequel, titled LOOK WHAT'S HAPPENED TO ROSEMARY'S BABY, which picks up 8 years after the first film. We learn that Guy took off for a successful career in Hollywood, while Rosemary and Adrian stayed behind with the coven. Rosemary (played by Patty Duke) absconds with the boy prior to his 8th birthday party in an effort to prevent the coven from performing some sort of ritual on him . It's been year since the viewed the film, so most of the details are fuzzy ... somehow a hooker played by Tina Louise (Ginger from Gilligan's Island) offers them shelter, then somehow convinces Rosemary to hide out in an abandoned bus. Suddenly, the bus powers up and takes off (without a driver) and we never learn of Rosemary's fate. The film then skips ahead to show a now adult Adrian, going by the name Andrew, being a trouble maker with the local police ... and honestly, the rest of the film was so boring, I can't even recall how it ends. The film was poorly written but Patty Duke's (brief) screen time and the return of Ruth Gordon as Minnie Castevet are about the only things making this dud of celluloid worth watching at all. = = = = = = = = = = Ira Levin, the author of the ROSEMARY'S BABY novel, published a sequel novel in 1997, titled SON OF ROSEMARY, which completely ignores the event of the 1976 TV movie, and serves as a direct sequel to the original film. It is reveled that the year is now 1999 and Adrian is a world famous new age spiritual guru. The coven had placed a spell over Rosemary in 1973, putting her in a coma to prevent her from running off with Adrian. As the novel beings, she has awakened upon the death of the last member of the coven. After being reunited with Adrian, she herself becomes a celebrity of sorts, all the while, Adrian attempts to reassure her that he's rejected the coven's evil influence and wants to bring spiritual enlightenment to the world. There are a few odd interactions between Rosemary and Andy (bordering on incest) and on new year's eve, a deadly virus is unleased upon the planet and Satan emerges to drag Rosemary to Hell. She then wakes up to find herself 33 years in the past (prior to getting pregnant), laying in bed next to Guy at their apartment in the Bramford building. It's left up to the reader to decide if Rosemary simply dreamt the events of the 1967 and 1997 novels or had actually experienced a premonition of future events.
Oh interesting! I had no idea. It somehow seems right that Adrian would become a cult leader of sorts - I love that!
I'm glad someone reacted to this, this movie unfortunately usually overlooked. Terrific script and acting everywhere.
Yes, I don't hear about it much. It's definitely a sleeper.
This is by far the worst reaction for this I have seen. It is an action movie, nitwit and there are just so many things you can do? They all have fights and guns. Any second you will say, "no he can't use a gun, any kind of gun because John Wick uses a gun. No your can't wear black because John wick wears black." Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling are the same height and I guess you didn't notice how muscular Gosling is in this movie. Gosling is a year older, but I think Ryan is bigger.
