Couple things, I love this movie it’s severely underrated 1 With the first police stop they didn’t get lucky! Det. Fanning calls for a black and white to investigate the shooting they just left from. Those cops just happened to be the closest to the crime scene… 2 The elevator encounter happens not by pure chance but because Fanning is headed to the morgue to see the bodies of the guys vincent just shot in the alley. 3 “I got lucky with the lights” -Max twice max says this line early in the film. When we get Max Vs Vincent on the train the lights flicker as they shoot at each other. Vincent is failed my his training as he shoots 3 round (2 in the chest 1 in the head) you can see where they hit the door. Max, an untrained laymen, fires wildly into the door while stumbling to the right as the lights are out. This is the true moment of Max “getting lucky with the lights” Also vincent gives up and chooses not to reload because the gun isn’t his, it’s the security guards gun from Annies building, Max has Vincent’s personal gun from after the car accident! 4/Bonus while i agree we didn’t get some point break/ FNF1 level friendship out of the whole ordeal. I personally always saw Vincent as one of max’s only friends, were shown max is reserved and does not interact with his coworkers in the opening scenes. His boss is an asshole, he visits his mother every night… Max doesn’t seem to have much going on in his life and ultimately Vincent gave him a reason to live it to the fullest and imparted quite a bit of (albeit nihilistic and evil) wisdom in max that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. Enjoyed your reaction to my favorite movie!

In the Coyote scene, The first one represents Max scared in a frenzy, the second one is Vincent calm and composed, detached from his surroundings as is Vince from Human emotions a predator in an environment that doesn't understand him, out of his natural habitat Also Coyotes travel in pairs just as Max and Vince

This is the 2nd film you've watched on your channel where Jamie Foxx plays a character named Max, who also wears glasses, with the 1st being 'The Amazing Spiderman 2' 😁

1:09 yes, you are correct. That is actor Jason Statham 😀 And that scene with him and Tom Cruise was quite exciting, and significant for people when this film was released. If you watch the film 'The Transporter' (2002) then you'll understand why 😁 (which I hope you do!)

Yeah, I liked that he didn't do the Tom Cruise schtick, he really downplayed the character in a perfect way.
