THIS STORY:
The popular 15-year-old who liked AC/DC and Kiss simply vanished from his neighborhood on Columbus’ East Side a fall day in 1983. After years of speculation, the answer finally arrived on who the actual person was who savagely and brutally took the life John A. Muncy. Delaware County sheriff’s detectives finally had announced that they had solved one of their longest cold-case homicides.

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

Hello Ron My name is John Muncy and I'm the brother of Tony. I have watched your video several times and say thank you for going a great job on it. It has takin me a long time to respond because as much as I thank you for the great story you did. I also struggle with the Legacy thing. When the story was released my family didn't want his pictured released with the story. We want the attention focused on the heros of the story. The detectives. Daniel was a monster but also had a family that helped with info to the detectives. His family suffered as well in this, we always wanted to be respectful to them. Legacy was a place for his family and friends. They deserved it for them not for him. He's dead and not able to hurt anyone else. We want Daniel's story to die with him but not at the expense with hurt toward others. My brother's story's isn't a sad story. He lived his life to the fullest in every way. When he did die he went down fighting. I miss and love my brother so much but I celebrate his life and the kick ass job these Detectives did. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing the extra details of your brother and the heroes who helped. I've avoided watching this one for as long as it's been out because my youngest son could be described quite the same, because it's not as long ago as the other tragic losses involving children but I finally clicked and went straight to the comments to check what I was going to hear and your comment was the first I saw. It brought a smile despite the deep sadness of Tony's story. I am sorry for the loss of childhood joys, for added anxieties, sorrow of anniversaries, family events and birthdays, the sorrow of Parents going through the grieving stages of one life's most unfair heartbreaks, and life in a fishbowl as the entire community questions and discusses the most profound traumatic event of your life. I admire your mentioning the innocent family members who assisted the Detectives for the benefit of Tony's family, your great empathy and strength is commendable. Thank you again for the smile in your description of your brother.

In family cemeteries the family is who takes care of the graves. Any member who goes to visit will clean not only the person they are visiting, but the other's who are also buried there. We have family members who are paid a yearly amount to make sure that the graves are taken care of and fresh flowers are put on it monthly. It all depends on how much family and their ties to the town's that were built by the individual's originally buried on their land.

I was born and raised in Kentucky. But as a lot of young people think they need to do is to leave home and see the world, and that is just what I got in the military, and job opportunities. I have lived in many other states and even overseas. But in my heart I always wanted to come home.To me there was no other place on earth like Kentucky. So some years ago I was able to come home for good thinking I would never have to leave again, nothing would pull me from it. But my son and grandchildren live in Ohio which is probably one of the worst states to me, only because in the part of Ohio which ironically is VERY close to where this happened there are no mountains or hillsides and they pretty much crop every inch of land. But my heart is with my family so I guess I will be leaving my beloved Kentucky home. I would strongly encourage you to visit Kentucky especially the Eastern section. Good luck on your efforts to travel!!

The narrator did a beautiful and respectful tribute to this young boy. The cemetery is a nicely kept garden. When a young person is laid to rest at such a tender age; we cannot help but to wonder what potential was snipped from this child, what future never unfolded? We usually take a look at ourselves so we can reflect on ... had this been us, so much would have been lost by us.

I have watched a lot of videos on many topics but I am giving you the Gold Crown today. Why? You might ask? When reading family headstones of the Muncy family, you respectfully took that extra time to "Thank" Mr Muncy, an honorable Veteran, for his service to our country. I felt it was so moving and classy that I had to give you a "thank you" for reminding everyone that Freedom is NOT Free. It was, has, and still is being paid for with the lives of our loved ones going in knowing they might not make it back. Again, many kudos to you for taking that extra time to reflect on a tradition that is being lost. As I see with my own eyes, maybe 2% (that's even being generous) of the new generation (age under 25) thanking a Veteran for their service when wearing their hats or jackets. 15% above that age I have seen thank one. It makes me sad how much entitlement people think they should have not knowing how many lives it took to get those privileges some whine aren't good enough. Sorry to ramble. Great video, my prayers for the family. Such a horrific story.

Dear Ron, So beautifully done the family cemetery is wonderful. The place they are all at rest in so majestic. The story of this young man and how his life was cut short by this killer in such a cowardly & gruesome way. May Tony Muncy rest in peace. The Muncy family will love how you have honored him. So sad about Tony Muncy. BTW, I enjoy Faces of the Forgotten. Your research and explanations of the people's lives really make the program. You might have already covered this, but I grew up hearing locals discuss Octavia Hatcher of Pikeville, KY. You familiar with her story? Anyway, take care. Prayers. RIP Tony.

At least they were able to ID the killer even though he is dead. I am so glad they were able to do this ! May young Tony rest in peace.

Such an aweful end to such a short life. I'm glad they finally found out who done it. Who would have thought him to be a choir boy turned out a wicked evil monster. I'm from southeastern ky near tn line and I happen to have a brother named Tony. I couldn't imagine the pain his family has gone through all these yrs. Very sad 😥. Thank you for seeing the beauty of our ky mountains we get a lot of people who like to stereotype us. Nothing like living in such a beautiful place. I could tell you all the great things about it but I would be typing forever. At least some of it was seen in this video.

Rip Tony and a sad story. Beautiful Cemetery. I'm going to Waterloo, Ohio next month to visit my great uncle's grave Glenn Severt and also pay my respects to Barbara Sue Caulley who was murdered in Columbus, Ohio July 17, 1988 at the age of 14. The Cemetery is called Rehoboth Cemetery. It was a family member who murdered her. I think her father died recently and is buried there beside her now.

Your ariel shots are always so beautifully done. It's a beautiful tribute to those that passed. This is a case that I wasn’t familiar with prior to your video. I'm from Ohio (South Charleston, to be exact), so these homicide cases always hit me the hardest. I hope Tony's family gained some closure from,at least, finding out who the killer was. I don't believe full closure is every truly possible in cases such as this, especially when the killer died without serving for his/her crimes. As always, thank you for this beautiful and respectful tribute. It's so imperative to honor these precious souls.
