Oh Kelli... whatever you may be you must know your comments touched my heart, losing your loved husband as such a tender age, ma'am... My father in law looked SO much like Mick. When he lived in California in the 70s, he used to get asked for autographs. He’s passed now but seeing these old Stones videos makes me almost feel like I’m watching my FIL too.

When I was 9 years old I declared The Rolling Stones to be my favourite band because of Angie! 50 years later, they are still my favourite band, and always will be! I think I actually saw this performance on TV back then, or some other performance of theirs. I remember sitting on the floor up close to the TV in amazement!

EXCUSE me for NOT being EXACT with my comment. SOME kids today.....SOME..SOME...SOME ....NOT ALL. I forget that people today can be a bit touchy when a comment doesn't exactly fit what they perceive as RIGHT. My kids grew up listening to 60's, 70's AND 80's music with me and they also listened to stuff from their era. NOW my grand kids listen to the 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's....and recent. It's ALL good in my family when it comes to music...but I guess I should have been more specific. Now...does THAT sound better? Jeeezzzzz

One of the most beautiful songs ever! Keith's guitar and Nicky Hopkins' piano, Mick's plaintive singing, all create a real moment. And I never knew whether it was a mistake or an act of genius the way you can hear ghost vocals, presumably from the guide track, fading in and out at times. That just makes it all the more haunting! I remember people used to shut up and listen when this first came out on the radio. Just magical.
@ericlee2931

Of Couse Nicky Hopkins played the piano on the studio cut, it appears that Mick Taylor replicated a decent piano on this video. The close ups show Mick Ts fingers hitting all the spots. Guess it could be "finger syncing" But it looks authentic to me.

Yes! My parents divorced in 1971/1972. I was 5 at the time. When the legal divorce was finalized…there all the sudden was this song. It told me what was going on in a language I didn’t understood at the time (I am Dutch), but I knew what it meant; and it told the story of, what ever was, going on between my parents. I heard it many times during those days and already back than it made me cry. You have no Idea what it does to me now. What a song! I love the Stones. Many of their songs hit home to me. But… this one is special. 🙏🫣👍

Angie, Angie When will those clouds all disappear? Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here? With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, Angie You can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful, yeah But ain't it time we said goodbye? Angie, I still love you Remember all those nights we cried? All the dreams were held so close Seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here Oh, Angie, don't you weep Oh, your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie, Angie Ain't it time we said goodbye? Yeah With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, I still love you, baby Everywhere I look, I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on, baby, dry your eyes Angie, Angie Ain't it good to be alive? Angie, Angie They can't say we never tried

Angie is the first Rolling Stones song that I fell in love with when it was released in 1973. It's an extraordinary ballad, written primarily by Keith Richards. Mick's performance is transcendent.

Some songs are born in heaven and drip over the side and fall to Earth. Mick was blessed to have caught this one as it came down at that moment. Love never dies. Indeed, it speaks to us, for us, about us, and enables others to see we will always be here. Together.
I humbly say, I am proud, not everyone has a song with their name, much less a group of great musical renown.❤

Damn, I can remember how we'd play this song over and over and over on the old Rock-Ola jukebox at the pool hall. I must have spent 2 or 3 bux everyday listening to this and I remember as well how the whole place would kind of get a quiet and sullen mood over it whenever it would play. It still does the same thing to me today, almost 40 years later. Today's music doesn't do that for 40 lousy minutes let alone 40 years.

Lyrics: | "Angie" - The rolling Stones. | Angie, Angie When will those clouds all disappear? Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here? With no loving in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, Angie You can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful But ain't it time we said goodbye? Angie, I still love you Remember all those nights we cried All the dreams we held so close Seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here? Oh, Angie, don't you weep All your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie, Angie Ain't it time we say goodbye? With no loving in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, I still love you, baby Everywhere I look I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on baby, dry your eyes But Angie, Angie Ain't it good to be alive? Angie, Angie They can't say we never tried. END.

Fabulous Classic Stones Tune. Don't care who you are- this is great ! Had a buddy in high school- his girl was Angie- he was nuts for her. This always reminds me of him and her . Henry Hill- really a great guy and friend . Seguin , Texas class of 74'.

I named my daughter Angie because of this song❤
This is the best version of this wonderful song. I think every song of the stones is legendary and made history . What a great lyrics and of course the deep emosions mike Jaeger brings . The music world would not be the same without the rolling stones.
