It’s an awesome watch of course and I would love one but I recently picked up an OP 41 and feel it has more character. If I could only have one of the two I like the simple and fun look of the OP

This piece is one of my favorite. Pretty much a daily wearer for me. If it doesn’t excite you, put it in the safe for a month and trust me the honeymoon starts all over again. I think I even prefer it over my white gold daytona

@@CoffeeMadeMeSay most of the scratches are visible on the clasp. The case and bracelet have held up very well. What a perfect watch. I really do enjoy the comfort, weight, color, and movement. Jubilee is so comfortable.

Great video. Having picked up the 126710BLNR recently I can say that it is without a doubt an amazing watch, although it really is more of a refinement over the previous 116710BLNR you're discussing. I get your point, but ultimately that timeless design in incremental upgrades is actually one of strengths of Rolex, as even an older Batman 2013 owner can still enjoy a very similar watch as mine. One major surprise though was the new 126720 VTNR release this year. What do you think of that? Also, you've got a really cool channel, it's great to see that in HK!

The new VTNR It's a very cool color combination I'd say, and being left handed it should technically be my GMT of choice, but honestly I'm so used to wearing "right handed" watches it would even feel wierd for me!

I do absolutely agreed with you - I own it but once you have it … it gets boring and nothing make you hesitate anymore

I think it’ll take a bit of time for it to grow on you. I’ve had my Pepsi for about a month now. At first I wasn’t too thrilled about it; rather a piece that was just for collecting. Now, I absolutely love it just as much as my Datejust and Sub date. Give it some time, it looks good on the wrist and is pretty versatile (more versatile than blue/red).

I’m planning to get either the 116710blnr or the 126710blnr oyster steel for my first rolex. Which would you suggest me getting? And do you think its a good idea to get one in the gray market now?

If you’re planning to wear it and keep it for a while I would recommend a preowned 116710 blnr. If you really want a brand new one then it’s got to be the 126710. They’re appreciating week on week so far so it’s pretty much never the right or wrong time with this piece I think

You won’t get one unless you have previously bought Rolex before. I have a datejust 41 and still waiting on my Batman

I have the batman( bat girl) on the jubilee and the sub tt with blue face. Due to the bracelets, very different look and feel. I love them both!

Thanks! In July we’re basically 15% down with the Rolex market, in comparison to Jan/Feb. Tough to say whether the market is at its bottom or not.

Ive worn and owned pretty much all the watches from the gmt line from the black gmt to the batgirl and the pepsi and i must say that eventhough they are all beautiful watches, i get bored of them real quick.. maybe its the big numerals on the bezel that just didnt do it for me i dont know.. now i own the new sub 41 and it just feels so right. I dont think i would want to wear another gmt watch anytime sn..

Well, the did change the specs of the 2021 Batman. They made the case slimmer and more sleek. Additionally, they updated the outdated movement. This is classic Rolex. Perhaps not as interesting as others would prefer, but there were some really nice changes made. Great video. Thanks for your time doing this.

Back in the day 2016-2017 Batman used to sit at ADs like McDonalds! Now it’s self created rarity! My own ad gave me 4 options to buy and I took them on all four!

Any Rolex watch is beautiful! I just feel after sometime I’ll get tired looking at blue/Black bezel. So looking at Black Sub for day to day wear. Thoughts?

Yeah I fear that may be the case. Any stark combination kind of gets boring after a while. I do think over the long term a black sub may be nicer for daily wear

I just wish it was at least 200m water resistant so that’s basically a watch you never take off. Otherwise it is definitely stunning

I always wanted to add the batman to my collection. I was very fortunate to pick up both the Pepsi and batman late last year from my AD . Love the aesthetic and color scheme of the batman it goes with everything . The functionality and practicality of this timepiece cannot be underestimated especially if you travel or have business overseas . This time piece will only increase in value over time

I agree with you. I have the Batman and been wearing it every day since I bought it in december 2018. I still love it but its not special anymore . Why did Rolex start to make them with oyster bracelet again? thats annoying. BUT its a watch you never get tired of, I think it still would be a special watch if Rolex didnt start making them again with oyster.

I agree. Which is why Omega is my favorite brand. Although I own a beautiful two tone Datejust and will be getting a Batman. After I've got an Omega or two in site and then a grail of JLC or Patek - leaning toward JLC.

I have it on jubilee. Got it from the AD in October. Love it!

Almost always a quick increase. It depends on the model to say if that increase sticks long term though.

how is your AD charging you over retail? ADs sign a contract with Rolex starting they must sell at retail or rush losing their contract with Rolex.

They let me buy other rolex watches to give them in return to them and pay money. They don’t care because there are so many people willing to do that..

The key is to understand that markets that go up and up eventually find a top. Then, they go down. No one knows how long this will last.

I don't think majority of the people owning Rolex is selling them now hence the prices increasing weekly. We all know there is a shortage in supply hence the reason market price increases.

Still love mine.

I’m not a fan of any of the two tone Rolex models. I had a black and gold sub for a couple of years but recently sold it. Now I just want classical DJ and a no date sub. And my grail DayDate white gold one day…

The batman has been pretty steady for the last 6 months. For 15k GBP you get an unworn one. Was the same in August when I got mine. Batgirl is about a k cheaper. And the old 116710BLNR you can pick up for less than 13k. Prices havent risen at all for it all year

@@mdot9551 They have gone up to 22k GBP already since I wrote this post, now theyre down to 19-20k again. I think they will settle in that range.

All of them have essentially the same movement, they just change the bezel color..

Spot on all Rolexes are very similar, unless they have a different dial. All my watches has a different dial.

When you say nothing exciting about it, so curious which Rolex Timepiece are you after or excited to buy? Your grail watch

If it makes you feel better I paid $5300 over retail for the all black GMT which is now discontinued. I have always liked this watch but back in 2008-2009 when it first came out, I was a broke college student. Finally in 2021 was able to buy it without feeling guilty but had to pay a premium.

Yeah. A large percentage of the watch market is now pretty much an asset class so I think those days are behind us. After all it’s a luxury item with large profit margins, so there was some inevitability to it at least from a capitalist perspective.

Rolex was an Asset class even decades ago. Just have a look at the Submariner or Daytona prices since 1970. 30 times higher now. This would have been a better investment than the S&P500, which is 20 times higher since then. But many people care about Rolex since a few years. So there should be another reason. Maybe Social Media, where people are flexing with their watches.

My long term AD has advised me that I can order the other option for either or both of my watches if I would like to. I have the original Batman too Ref 116710 but as you know there isn’t a Rolex supplied jubilee bracelet option for that one.👍

My local AD mentioned you beable to buy bracelets in about 2 years time roughly for £1500

I like it far more than the pepsi. The colors are still far too subdued on the pepsi even after mk3.

The Batman’s blue is subdued as well. I sold mine because if you are more than two feet away from the watch it looks like a black bezel. I’d rather have the Pepsi, the red pops!

@@richardoeser5643 agree. I had a BLNR and 114060. They looked too similar from a couple feet away. Couldn’t justify both. Ended up selling the BLNR. Fantastic watch though. I’ve since sold my sub and now on a waiting list for another BLNR. Go figure.

I don’t think you quite understand supply and demand. If you could walk into any authorized dealer and find a watch to purchase, none of these gray market prices would exist

Obviously OPs won't go to 30k. But the madness of hovering around 10-12k will be here for at least the next 3-5 years.

You can’t buy ANY Rolexes watches at an AD. That is why the few that are available via the gray market are expensive and have climbed in value. Couple that with the belief that these watches will hold there value and you have only part of the story on why the rise in price for a Rolex. It doesn’t help that you have one factory that is supplying the world.

It's pretty simple tbh, you don't need a Phd in economics, these are no longer watches but an investment asset class. With inflation set to have a major impact on cash in 2022, and the 10yr yield on US bonds at -1%!!! this is the only explanation needed.These watches protect you cash against projected inflation better than most things 'normal people' can get their hands on....... Welcome to 2022 guys.....and forget 'imaginative' watches that hold their value.....even Patel is now a one watch pony, just like AP
