little to no evidence that he was in fact born via caesarean section since it was not performed until much later in history..the word Cesarean simply means 'to cut' and is derived from the latin word caesus.

I think you might be interested in knowing that cesarean surgeries were performed way before. From Discovery, a famous science magazine: “Cesarean sections have been a part of human culture since ancient times. This surgery, which is characterized by the delivery of a baby through the mother’s abdomen, is referenced in ancient Hindu, Egyptian, Grecian, Roman and other European folklore. But where did the term originate?”

In Reality it was performed in Roman times but the Mother always died and since Caesar was alive people say he probably wasn’t Born that way. But the name of C-Section is inspired by the myth so it’s still Named After him

This is looking at Caesars history and cutting it up to fit a narrative. Not an actual telling of the history. For example, the most important part of context this supposed "history documentary" misses out is the fact that civil war had been raging on and off for 30 years before, and 10 years after the time that this video is covering. The reason for the civil war was that the Republic had ceased to function because of a political deadlock on land and wealth redistribution. Without that context, Caesar comes across as tyrant who overthrew a functioning democracy, leaving you with a very differnt story that creates an untrue narrive by cherry picking facts. I believe Dan Carlin said it best in his podcast, it was something to the effect of "You learn more about the political leanings of the person whos telling you about Caesars story and motivations then you learn about Caesars actual motivations." Or something like that.

@@RoxanneM- What you call "dictatorship" brougth decades upon decades of peace and prosperity to EVERYBODY who lived in the empire. After decades of civil war and unrest, people prospered, got more economical stability and security. Pax Romana rings a bell? The Republic did not work anymore - and it was people like Cato who brought it to ruin, not Caesar. THEY where the people who voted against anything that Caesar wanted - reforms, better laws for governing the provinces, taking care of veterans and giving them what was promised to them. You know, stuff like caring for common folk too - and not only the nobility and their obsession of keeping Ceasar down. Because they realized that he was a more able and brilliant man than they would ever be. And if there was one thing they could not stand was a man better than them. They were willing to destroy everything, destroy the lives of hundreds of thousands, to worsen the condition of almost everybody - just to bring Caesar down. Well, they did not succeed. And in the end, Augustus established an era of peace and prosperity. Sure, a lot of later emperors were bad. Some were decent. Some were good. And in the end, the Romen Empire fell as well - after being alive for many many centuries (much longer than our Western states will endure I guess) But as long as it existed, it was a good thing for the huge majority of the people who lived in it. After its fall it got very dark in Europe - living standards, economy, wealth, science, art, architecture - everything went downhill for centuries to come. If increasing the living standard of almost everybody is NOT to be admired - prey tell, what is?

THE greatest IMO. Because he excelled in everything. Not only military related stuff, but his oratory was stunning, his laws were amazing and a lot of it helped Rome thrive for centuries to come. He identifie the problems that Rome plagued and cured at least some of them. He was thorough in every task he did - no matter if it was bringing the calender back in sync and enacting a knew calender that we still use today (with VERY little additions regarding not adding the 29. Feb. every now and then) or if it was catering to the roads that led to Rome. And all that while fanatically oppposed by people like Cato, who prefered to see the whole world burn than to admit that Casear was so much greater than them. He did not have a fortune he could rely on, he was not born into a powerful house. Sure, his lineage could be traced back to Venus - but for many decades power was wielded by other families. And despite all these problems he came up on top, he stabilized a partly failing Rome and laid the foundation of a golden age, an age of prosperity and security for everybody. Pax Romana. IMO Caesar outshines every other human being that ever lived on this planet.

Is it just me or does every professional intellectual have Trump living in the their heads rent free 24/7?

I think some person, not only read the Hitler’s letters, but also read about how Julius Cesar governed. He might have read about some others too. What a remarkable coincidence he set out to pardon his friends. His love of military parades. His thirst for revenge and power.

Trump is a frumpy rich elite joke compared to Cesar. He lost the midterms. He lost his reelection bid. He's declared bankruptcy in failed buisness after buisness. He's destroyed countless small buisnesses by never paying them for the massive construction, maitnence, etc work they did for his failed ventures. He's sick in the head and it's clearly, sadly, transmissable. Worst of all, despite everything, he's still a loser. He loses. That's what he does. You know this. On some level, you must. Yet here you still are, acting as if reality won't hold you accountable for it - because it doesn't seem to hold trump accountable for HIS crimes. But you are not trump. And even trump himself isn't really getting away with it this time. Take a good look at Rudy Giuliani and ask yourself that if even people of means and respect cN burn through every little bit of their respect, money, integrity and reputation by following trump so stupidly, what about the rest of you? @@RoxanneM- Your knowledge of the Roman history is severly lacking. Obviously you do not know anything about living standards and stuff like this. Spoiler: People do not care if they are governed by one emperor or dictatur (btw, the dictaturship was completly in line with Roman "constitution" - and yes, I obviously know that Rome did not have this. But I guess if I wrote "in line with the mas majorum" you would not understand.) or by a handfull of Patricians. They care if they can live a safe life without being robbed, assaulted, starving to death and stuff like this. The Republic managed to provide that for a time - but then it did not work any longer, because Cato and the Optimati (or Boni, the good man) destroyed the Republic. Then came the Empire and it was a good thing for most people for quite a long time.
