Looking forward to more. I'm old enough to remember that season one of scifi and fantasy don't always reflect the years to come.

I like this😊Looks pretty good. Nice to see everything that happened. Thousands of years before Fellowship,hundred,leading to the events. Robert seems great as young Elrond.Nice to see Sauron masquerading as human. Nice to see Isildur too. Shame Celebrimbor didn't manage to destroy main rings. Then only One would left.Sauron destroyed Eregion,no doubt,with Orcs.We'll see how sea creature is. This seems like great show

My favorite part was when Borat grabbed the ring and said, "you will never get this!" right before Holdor closed up the Gringott's bank doors on Eleven. This is a must watch, I need to know who Vader picks as the next sith apprentice!

Absolute dumpster fire. Double down on alienating Tolkien readers by desecrating the lore because you're tied into a five season contract. It must be pretty binding or they would already have abandoned this tedious, insulting and disrespectful abomination. Never mind, the Rohirim cartoon is out soon and the showwriters actually care about Tolkien's work.

A possibility is that the annatar scenes possible could be flashbacks to a time before halbrand at which point once the rings were forged or around that time the show could he changed form to halbrand.

That's not true. Gandalf only says when explaining his names around the continent that "to the East I go not". In the context it is written, it very much seems that he is saying he *no longer* goes to the East, not that he hasn't ever been there. Also, it is implied several times that Gandalf doesn't remeber much from his previous incarnations. Gandalf was just his incarnation in the third age.

Sauron doesn't disguise himself as a human in the books? But he doesn't disguise himself as an elf either, if anything. Annatar's form was godlike, he openly declared to the Elves that he was one of the Maiar.

We really don't get much of a description of Annatar at all, other than he was beautiful but could also hide his glory. Considering we don't actually have any stories writeen in this time, it is more than possible he walked as a human.

Here’s a tease: a high budget lord of the rings tv show

I'm beginning to think that they intentionally made Rings of Power as awful as it can be to desecrate Tolkien and elevate the Author of House of Dragons which is known to be a member of Hollywood's Elite. No matter what you evil doers do, you can never ruin a Work of a Saint. Tolkien's Legacy will live forever until the end of time.

Judging by the trailer, they got two things right, meaning that between the 2 seasons, they got only three things right.

The first season didn't get nearly as much wrong as people like to pretend. Mostly it's just people who have a surface understanding of Tolkien's work and are pretending to know more.

Jesus, this show is shitz , How can anyone predict anything when none of the story makes sense.

They should have casted a British actress for Galadriels role, Cate Blanchett's british voice echos in my mind. Completely different than the accent from the series.

Galadriel (Morfydd Clark is Welsh/British, albeit born in Sweden) and Cate Blanchett is Australian, so not sure what the issue is

Shadow of Mordor and the sequel game are cannon in the lore yes? Hope it is cause I'm playing through them and there's so many little bits of lore in the artifacts you find and you get to see the rings being forged. Oh and you eventually become "The Bright lord" who does battle with "The Dark Lord" in the end.

They should invest more in fallout season 2 instead.

Now every channel is paid again to convince us how great the show is. Casting short hair smug face actor for Elrond, Gramma Celebrimbor instead the mighty smith and fighter in the books, strong empowered kick ass Galadriel and Gandalf and the dirty proto hobbits who are not suppose to be there at all.

1. Tolkien never said Elrond had long hair, nor did he say that all elves had long hair. He rarely gives any description of elves hair at all. Besides, Legolas had dark hair, and people don't seem to have a problem with that. 2. Celebrimbor is never given a physical description at all in any text. Any argument over his appearance is pure speculation. He is also never described as a warrior or told he was an especially good warrior. he was also a jewel smith, not a blacksmith, as many pretend. 3. Galadriel was strong, empowered, and kickass in the books. To pretend otherwise is just stupid. 4. Gandalf isn't there. Olorin had many incarnations, Gandalf was just his incarnation in the third age. “That Olorin, as was possible for one of the Maiar, had already visited Middle-earth and had become acquainted not only with the Sindarin Elves and others deeper in Middle-earth, but also with Men, is likely, but nothing is said of this”. So yes, everything you said was just plain wrong and is not supported by Tolkien's texts at all. Stop being a part of the toxic fanbase. Do better.

The latter quote implies that length and abundance were considered tributary to “beauty”, same as beards are considered beauty trait for dwarves. 2.Celebrimbor was described as his daddy Fëanor, same as Arwen- Lúthien.He was definitely not old gramma, he was younger than Galadriel so how does the RoP series reflect this?3.I agree Galadriel was fierce and she doesn't need sword in her hand as statement, quote me an epic battle where she fought orc or balrog with her sword(there is none).4. What you say is true, Olorin likely came to Middle-Earth earlier, but not Gandalf the Istar. The show gives us an Istar, not a free roaming Maia. You understand the reason why istari were old men I hope.
