As hard as it may sound you can plan for the recession. If you are working, find extra work and get an Invest--advisor. Protect your deposits by having enough cash in short term fixed income. Then cut your expenses. Minimal insurance, cut utilities.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. A company near me took a ton of money from the government during the pandemic and then closed two plants and laid off 300 people as soon as it was over. I have nothing against rich people or big business, but if your company can't make it without government freebies you shouldn't be in business.
last year was a challenging one, but I managed to make $100,000 before taxes as the sole breadwinner and head of household. It's a good starting point, but I'm always looking ahead on how to improve. I am in middle TN and I have been working on my vegetable garden for the last three years or so. I’ve got people lining up waiting to buy my vegetable plants and vegetables because I can grow it cheaper and sell it for less than what they’ve got in the store. It’s great that I can give my neighbors and friends some help. All I’m saying is do what you can and learn new skills because times are difficult and even rich people are finding out they’re not well off anymore. When money doesn’t matter the rich folks aren’t going to matter either because all they have is their money. So don’t stress about the money and focus on getting your own food.

What are you doing to amend your soil? (from Pencil City)
@Feribrat99

selling it for less will make you broke and it will let your neighbors down in the end, so your soil gets depleted and you have nothing to replace that with, compost takes longer and is not a total answer so don't go there with me, I have farmed for 50 years. If you have a better product AND sell it for what the store is then you can sustain it and you wont be doing harm for your neighbors because it is better food to begin with, selling low is a lie. quit that shit. help them more by being there for the long haul .
@user-ml1kj3qs9d
Ай бұрын
I use the manure from my chickens, ducks and rabbits and compost that and add it to my garden every year and it keeps my soil great. It’s definitely doesn’t cost me nearly what the grocery stores are selling vegetables for and I make enough every year so far to cover my costs and give me enough to expand a little bit. Folks around here like knowing where their food comes from and the issues with the store selling less than fresh vegetables has been a problem. I have enough every year that I donate too.

Regarding purses getting stolen out of shopping carts, most shopping carts have a child seat belt attached. Unlatch it and attach your purse handle to it. When it's lifted, it won't be easy to take it out because it is attached to the cart.

Imagine living someplace where buying enough food is expensive and difficult then to make matters worse your government is trying to cancel all the farmers who grow your food. You can't make it up, systematically closing farms and power plants is ludicrous.
I'm 65. I began taking social security as soon as possible and began buying bitcoin. Its's working out well.
My thoughts on that: If you really need something, buy it now. It will be more expensive tomorrow (Food, Propane....). Save what you can, but save it in something that inflation can't destroy. I like things in the periodic table, but I don't quite know what that is. What do people need? Maybe stock up on some 12 volt light strips. Cheap but in a crisis are invaluable. Think outside the box. Good luck.
Dan, the auto makers didn’t want to get into the EV market, they knew better. The govt offered them the carrot or the stick. Most reluctantly took the carrot.
As i it is right now with low unemployment, and low salaries people can not afford to buy new cars; although if they sell them for 25 thousand dollars. Mortgage, rent and groceries are first. And if they start laying off people it is going to get worse and worse.

You should try and live on 1/2 of what you make (if you can of course). I was thinking the other day that I was lucky I was 40 when I got divorced (I had to rebuild from almost zero). If I waited until 50 I would have never been able to retire. Save as much as you can.

*My greatest concern is how to recover from all these economic and global troubles and stay afloat🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 especially with the political power tussle going on in US. The government has really called things more difficult for its citizens, and we can't sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance. We need to take our financial life serious... I recommend stock market investment and digital currencies*

We just received a notification from State Farm that they will not be RENEWING home insurance policies in the state of California when they expire. Please note that I did NOT say that they would not issue a "new policy", but that they will not RENEW an existing policy. I think home insurance is going to skyrocket in California as (if memory serves me correctly) you HAVE to have home insurance if you have an outstanding loan on a house.

I have a 2002 Subaru Legacy. I spent $1,500 to get it repaired because I don't want to have to buy a new car/used car. Not only would a new vehicle cost more in insurance and DMV fees, in Arkansas you are taxed on the value of your possessions including your car. My DMV renewal is $40.00 a year. I know every little squeak and noise in the car and know if a noise is a serious one or not. So, I'm driving it until it won't go any more.

My net worth is 7-8 figures. I drive my 2016 Sienna which I LOVE and my wife loves her 2015 Avalon. I’m retired and still bring in over 150k a year. My neighbors all have their crappy Mercedes and Bimmers. All of them broke. They have no idea me and my spouse can buy them all out and not bat an eyelash. Not even my two daughters, or grandkids know are net worth. At least until we’re dead.
I have two tenants that don’t have vehicles. Too expensive to maintain. We are walking distance to work locations and or bus. Pretty lucky.
People have money, but they have debt paying for somebody easel Vacations,, everybody was in the same boat back in 2008, some people don't learn, in this case a lot of people don't, they Over pay for things, Making Payment on the over price stuff, it simple to get ahead, just go without until you have Cash to pay for it..
Paid off home and car. Work from home. Auto insurance up 20 percent, beware tires for $1200 and $1550 for new shocks. With luck, these auto costs will last a long time if the remote work gig continues. Thanking the stars there are no loans and no commute. All that money I spent before 2021 while commuting and a couple years of rent between homes was a money vampire. Just give me 3 more years of remote work to solidify my financial independence dependence.
DanDan, King of Sardon. I love you for that!! 💛👍.
I don’t carry a purse any longer. A charge card+ driver’s license are in an inside jacket pocket or in my sox.
Coincidentally I saw 3 Bentley’s on the road today. I never see them and today I saw 3. 🤔
When you have people struggling to put food on the table and a roof over your head, seeing someone driving around in a 400 thousand dollar Bentley doesn't set well with someone facing homeless , it can lead to resentment and in the near future the rich flashing their wealth can lead to endangerment to their lives.

Dan, I think the labor and delivery units at Sacred Heart and St Joseph's hospitals are closing but not the hospital themselves in Milwaukee.
Could it be the Bentley isn't selling because a Bentley "flew" by the USA/Canadian crossing a while back?
They already have three Bentleys
Do take ss as soon as possible… 62 to your official retirement age you get 6% more each year….. but isn’t real inflation 6% or a lot more???? Would rather have a bird in the hand while it still have purchasing power.
We are WEALTHY in Money 💰 We are Rich with Family and Friends
I'm not really worried about what the rich do. But living on less, and appreciating things more is important. But it's hard to do. Americans are spoiled. They do not know want, like the rest of the world does. You have to live outside the US to know how good we have it.
