The Return of Boris Johnson: Why now? | LBC analysis

Shelagh Fogarty speaks to ex-Boris Johnson advisor Tim Montgomerie, after the former PM Boris Johnson made a surprise appearance at a Tory campaign event.
During his speech, Boris Johnson called for voters to stop 'Starmergeddon'.
Boris Johnson's sudden appearance in support of Rishi Sunak has come as a surprise to many, with the two being unable to reconcile over differences in the past.
Lib Dem deputy leader Daisy Cooper described Mr Johnson's appearance as "a desperate new low" for Mr Sunak's campaign.
Tim Montgomerie tells Shelagh Fogarty that Boris Johnson 'is marmite', but 'there are a lot of voters who still like him.'
Despite having resigned from office after months of advising Boris Johnson as he saw 'problems in his Downing Street operations', Tim Montgomerie tells Shelagh Fogarty this was a strategic move from the Tories to 'gain attention' and to 'ask the Conservative vote if they want a Labour supermajority'.
