Aw man, I didn't know there's a poll like that going on. Would have picked either Complete Endgame Course or How to Reassess your Chess though.

The diversity of your content is outstanding
Nelson - what a terrific idea. Looking forward to getting through these classic books with expert perspective. As always, keep up the great content!
I really like this type of content. Thank you Nelson!!
1 game analysis in every two weeks out of the 33 games, I think It will take a lot of time to cover just one book. Either atleast 3 games per video or 1 game video every 4-5 days.

agree. it’s going to take forever

Agree. It didn’t take very long to read through game one.
Thanks for coming up in my suggestions! I have been reading SIlman's Endgame book, as well as 5334 problems. They've both been helpful so far. Logical Chess was very easy to find. I am ready to get started!
I would have voted for endgame course if i knew about the poll
Great idea to have a book club. Looking forward to watching this. Thanks
Somehow I missed the poll, happy with this book though. Always great to cement the foundations, and seems like a great starting point for the series! I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to homework before.
My favorite is "A Primer of Chess" by Capablanca. Years ago, I found a first edition (Harcourt & Brace, 1935) somewhere, in good condition, and I snapped up. He covers all aspects of the game, and includes some of his own games against other grandmasters.
Super hyped on this series idea - just ordered!
This is great, i’m actually going through the book now. Will definitely be following along
Silman's Endgame is now also availabe as a chessable course, which I most definitely gonna buy. To really bring up my game I am more interested in "How to reassess Your Chess" by Silman's
I think this is a great idea Nelson. I have read the two most popular books in the survey already, but I'll definitely enjoy a review of the cool games and positions. I also think getting more people to read books instead of conforming short form content will be great for chess.
Just got your book. Really excited to go through this with you all.
Just received the book. Can't wait!
Great idea!
Such a great idea!! I got the book a while back and now I’m ready to finally read it haha
Need the date for when you plan to make the video so we can plan. I would suggest adding a week from the normal timeline to allow us to get the book and be at the same place, but I leave it to you.
Hi, love the idea. I got the book. When are we starting? is it going to be live? or would you do later a live q and a?
Irving Chernev’s Books and Chess Fundamentals were very helpful for me. Looking forward to reading Silmans books.
Missed the poll, but I did see a different one. Not sure the results of that other one.
Wonderful idea! I’ve had the book for years, but never read it! Will now!!!!
super cool idea!
Could you give advice on how to best "read" a chess book? I assume I should play the game alongside reading. Should I play through all the variations? I find that I have terrible "rewinding" the moves back to the original point whenever I try reading a chess book.

I think it is better to play only the main lines on the board and play only those sidelines which you cannot visualize. If you are just starting with books it will take time to be able to visualize most of the variations but by the time you finish one book that should be it Secondly if you find it difficult to rewind just play all the variations on a virtual board it would be easier to rewind

I would recommend playing through the game online via the chess.com or lichess analysis board. That way after you go through a variation you can simply click back to the original position before the variation started.
I have an older edition of the book, I didnt see the example game you went over. Does anyone know if the differences are minor or major?
Well, I have Silman’s complete endgame book, though it’s a bit dated as it doesn’t cover bishop & knight vs. lone king, which has since been shown to be winning. Otherwise a good book… if you’re willing to put the time into it. I’d vote for the other Silman book, “How to Reasses your Chess.”

The author explains that he's not going over the bishop and knight endgame because its so rare it's not worth the study time.

The KBN vs K checkmate is by no means a new insight: it was already analyzed by Philidor, and even the "modern" approach (Delétang's triangles) is already a century old!
So excited 🎉
ok i have got to buy the chess book Nelson has!
This is an awesome idea! I have the book, and I will try to catch up asap. I would have voted for the endgame book, but this one is great, too! Looking forward to more book clubs like this.
I would like to know what chess program your using. I've asked before but haven't heard back.

My copy is on its way, and I am looking forward to the next video.
Do you have any social media account other than KZread?
Silmans complete endgame course is the best chess book ever written. I missed the video with the poll or it would have my vote
Mega cool. Ich selbst lese gar nicht gern. Deshalb sehr nice. Mega mega gute Idee

I got it. It is good for the basics if you just would like to start.
Ahh i hate chess vibes, his videos are really addictive
I liked the series where your wife plays chess and you teach her. But I guess you can't force her to play for content.
Nelson: Homework: Read page 11 to 18.👨🏻🏫 Me: So you've challenged me, huh?!😼 That's just a game. Don't take it seriously.😸
I cant remember what i voted for, but this one seems good! Bought and excited for this series!
Nice
Why are people above 2000 not playing rapid that much??
Thanks for doing something different - I think people are getting a bit tired of these 'Crush your opponents with this trick' videos by now.
Lets go Brandon!
early
33 games, one every 2 weeks, is 66 weeks, that's like 1 year and 3 months to get through the book???
