I Explain Chess Like You Are 5 Years Old ♔ ASMR

Ойын-сауық

Welcome to your little, safe space where you can learn chess and relax. Today I will teach you a chess secret that you can use to beat your dad and even your mom (I know, crazy right?).
You can support the channel and help me make more videos on www.patreon.com/asmrchess
I learned this secret from the amazing Judit Polgar and her three friends: Plato the Panda, Octavia the Octopus and Pandora the Puffin! The game we look at is between Judit Polgar (white) and Pavlina Chilingirova (black), played in the 1988 Chess Olympiad. Find the PGN below.

    I'm autistic and I really like it when adults speak to me like this. It makes me feel safe, and I'm less likely to think they're mad at me or judging me. It's comforting being spoken to in an "infantalized" tone for me, even though I'm graduating from high school this year. I act younger than I am often, so that probably contributes a lot

    Something about this childlike vibe pairs so well with ASMR and educational content, and you pulled it off flawlessly for an entire hour! It reminds me of when you make the pieces talk - super cozy and relaxing. I hope this comes back in future :D And what a gorgeous mix. It's super bassy without being so resonant that it becomes pitchy/piercing. I think there's also some subtle stereo variation in the lower mids that adds that vibration-y feel that is *the* ASMR secret sauce for lower voices - I imagine you don't normally record your voice in stereo, so I wonder how much of your voice is coming in through the shotgun mics.

  • @ASMRChess

    @ASMRChess

    3 ай бұрын

    The mix is different in this one in that I’ve been able to target same crucial frequencies in the stereo pair of shotgun mics with the EQ and bring them down so they don’t get in the way of my voice coming through the third mic.

    I never properly understood how chess works until now. You make it sound so fun and a matter of creativity. I never looked past how the pieces move and now i feel like im actually learning how to play

    The moment when you said we I could come to you if I dont understand and you’d explain it over and over until I don’t need it anymore, I admit I started tearing up. Being treated with such patience in learning made me feel incredibly safe, especially since I was afraid of asking too many questions as a kid. Love this video a lot!!

    Aside from the amazing video that heals my inner child, and I cannot put in words how much that helps me - I can't help but notice you pupeteer the stuffed animals so darn well at times. Maybe you have some talent for character animation. I am an animator myself, and noticed that the way I moved around my toys was probably a very first sign of a passion. Maybe this is something of interest to you? Who knows. But anyways, I love the videoconcept and would be glad to see more of it

    This was way more engaging and ofc easy to understand than any other chess video or real life explanation! Now, im not asking for my uni lectures to be taught like this but people really forget how important it is to keep things simple. The point of an explanation/lecture is for the listener to understand!

    Memory unlocked! I had a puffin plushy when I was very little and I carried it everywhere like it was my guardian. As a terrible chess player this video really helped me understand center control so much better and also making sure my pieces are protecting each other.
