it probably has to do with calculating the half life of the materials :) you can pretty specifically estimate to the year how long something will remain unchanged (excluding environmental factors)

You could have a painting of a beautiful landscape of a place you’ve never been before, but if it reminds you of your home it could bring you intense feelings of nostalgia or longing. A piece of art doesn’t have to be a portrait or something with a deep personal meaning to capture someone’s deepest emotions😊

The major criticism of the recent cleaning of the Sistine Chapel ceiling is that the conservators removed layers of what was not accretions of dirt and grime, but painting a secco applied by Michelangelo atop the fresco that added volume and dimension to his figures. Have you ever encountered a situation like that, where a work was supposedly executed in one medium but had features added by the original artist in a different medium, that you had to be careful not to inadvertently clean away?

Jason Voorhees I don’t understand what you mean. Have you actually watched any of his videos? Everything he does to these paintings is entirely reversible and he does excellent work. I don’t understand what you’re trying to say with these comments and I feel as though you may just be a troll.

Oh My Goddess, I had no idea the level a conservator must go in order to preserve such a beautiful work of art. My heart felt admiration on a job well done.

wow, you have to be an expert in EVERYTHING in order to do restorations! chemistry, math, color theory, history, carpentry, the list goes on and on!!!! truly remarkable work.

It's 1:45 a.m and this is what I'm choosing to do with my life and I feel educated

I enjoy your work, very satisfying to see a full restoration. But I’d also appreciate a little history about each piece. Who painted it, when, what style, who the painting is of, any symbolism, etc.

these videos are so satisfying to watch. Whenever I need a pick-me-up I always like to watch KZread, mostly painting restaurations, floral foam crushing, instant karma videos, blackhead, cyst and ear wax removals, hoarder house makeovers, and videos of people organising their collections of various kinds of things. I wonder what my ancestors from pre-Internet times would think about that.

This process is art in itself

I think watching you nail in those tacks is one of my favourite parts. You can really see the ease of practise and experience.
