You're welcome. Sorry about that. We had originally put it in the video but after checking the file and re-watching this myself, the letter doesn't show when we definitely put it in there. We think there may have been a saving error since my editing software likes to crash often and i'm sure it did before i saved.

My hamster escaped once and what I did was place their wheel in the middle of the apartment and they came to it within 30 minutes of their escape.

My hamster escaped once, I fount him at the side of my bed living in the fluff of a teddy so he chewed up a teddy and lived in it and I fount food all down there so he must have shoved food in him mouth before he escaped

Ours escaped from upstairs and I found him downstairs in the laundry room in the under side of the cabinets! I literally can’t believe I found him! But our cat kept sitting by the laundry room door so I guess thank goodness for him giving me a clue!

Mine escaped once and he went over to my bookshelf and sat on the books and just chilled there... it was easy to catch him and he was fine going back in his cage but I’m just surprised that he was so chill. He does come out every day for most of the day though, so maybe he just got tired and was waiting to go back home. Very lucky to have such a cooperative hamster.

I went to petco to get a tank for my hamster and surprisingly the workers recommended tanks instead of those small cages, they had so much correct information about hamster care I was so surprised because ive never seen that before, and at my local petsmart they advertise all the tanks around the hamster products now!!

In Denmark we don’t have petco and petsmart, but we have another international pet store. I went there today, and even though it’s not perfect, they just got a new cage with a lot of glass in the bottom to have space for bedding! It’s actually quite large for a pet store! And when I was looking for a cage for my first hamster, the woman helping me, told me to not get the cages there, but to get a glass cage! Months later, I educated a little girl and her parents at the same store! Not sure what they decided to do, but if they listened to me, that woman maybe just saved 2 hamsters :)

I'd like to own at least two sets of liners. Problem is the size of our enclosure may be changing here soon so the fleece I just bought will be too small soon. Ohhh the humanity! 😱

What a cool video! I've always wondered what the Munchie rescue room looks like. Edit: I also noticed the Clean and Cozy compacts a lot so I've started to do a 50-50 or 40-60 mix of that with Carefresh and that has really helped. The mix of the two keeps its shape and doesn't get too dusty. Would recommend.

I did the same thing with my childhood dresser!! Covered in stickers, lots of them Pokemon lol

Watching this video probably saved my mouse’s life! He escaped a few months ago and was missing for over 2 weeks. I put food and water out and could tell someone was eating it and a week or so later I found and caught him. (He’s now in a larger safer tank and doing great)

I once had a hammy that lived to be around nine, and he survived school because he was class pet before he was mine

I wish I wasn't too far away because I would love to Foster or adopt butters and Rumble! I have two guineas myself but sadly my other girl passed away at 7 years old. 😔

With bedding I recommend fitch paper bedding I used it when I had 13 Syrians all in large bin cages and it lasted 2 cleans for all sometimes I could make it last 3 it was 25 gbp and its great its kinda like carefresh bug much better mine used to burrow all the times

The quality of Fitch has gone downhill since the new owner took over. They doubled the price and lowered the quality, and now there are blue parts in every bale which probably aren't safe

@@nzpaws yeah I know it’s so frustrating- I just got a fitch bale. It lasts a long time- I think mine is the 10kg and it was £20, but the actual pieces are so clumpy idk if they even work for burrowing :( I want to get a different bedding type but idk what would be the cheapest option for the amount?

For the guinea pigs I recommend fleece because it’s cheaper, easier to maintain and better for the environment!

When I first got my hammy I gave him coloured and it was so dusty so I gave him white carefresh and it's so much better 💖💖

When you have the air purifier does it ever disturb them? Also would you recommend getting one for a place that tends to get dusty?

Seeing all those bin cages reminds me of building a bin cage for my last hamster. I loved that cage. And I may have to make a new one very soon because my new syrian doesnt get along with the barney cage because of the bars, she has actually had an accident recently on those bars and actually ended up losing one of her toes because she got it stuck while I was at college. So she may have to have a downgrade for a while until I can get something more permanent sorted for her. Obviously it will be above the stated size here in the UK but her safety is more important than the extra space until I can figure something out..

When my hammy escaped I set up her travel critter trail with water and some food and left it open. She walked in every night and stuffed her pouches full, I then decided to stay up late one night and I was able to close it in on her

I use the paper based bedding from car fresh. And I also use the market medley food. My hamster Herm doesn’t really like the seeds so I use a different seeds and he can chew those better than the market medley.

I just got a dwarf hamster yesterday! He’s called Astro and I love him🐹❤️

thank you for your videos. I´ve been a foster home for rats in germany since a year but i also like to learn about other rodent species. Especially hamsters because i haven´t known something about them instead of the fact that some of them has to be kept alone. Someone where i took cages from for my fostering home (they where so big that i currently use them), asked me if i could took care of his two female hamsters he kept together and with the information that they bite but i had to say no because i wanted to only foster rats and specialize about them. So i didn´t know what happened to them but what i have seen is enough to say they lived a terrible live there. Also he had a bulldog who lived in the same room as the hamsters and had a bad behavior, so it was definitely the persons fault. I am working in animal welfare since 2014. Best decision in my live! best regards Tracy

For small boxes I would recommend dollar tree, I have a ton of small animals and when they pass that is where I always have good luck finding them

It was a shelving unit i bought on amazon and used to make a playpen out of. The playpen was intended for the hamsters however. C&C wires are what people use.

Dont know if this is any help but with the Bean writing I wanted to point out that if it is sharpie you can use an expo marker to get it off pretty cleanly. Used this trick on a lot of plastic surfaces.

Ending this thread since it seems to be bringing in arguments, so i'll sum it up for people. Treadmill/flying saucer wheels that're large enough for hamsters to run completely straight on the wheel without curving their sides, is safe. However UK and Germany don't use Saucer wheels as main wheels and add them in as a second wheel options. This can be said about mice as well but open wheels can be better for mice for their tails. So lets make sure we include information as to why they can cause back problems, so no confusion stems from vague comments. Back problems will occur in animals if using an improperly sized wheel.

My heart dropped when you said those oxbow pellets were bad because that’s what my hamster is on along with sunburst seed mix

Me has a guinea pig but still loves and could binge watch her videos anytime

I someday hope to have an animal room this glorious and this full of cute little furries.

If you want to save on bedding for the piggy u can use fleece blankets 😊

umm wot I’ve had cats and hamsters in the same home. It’s only a problem if you have an unsafe cage. Although if you’re young, I can see why your dad thinks it’s a bad idea. It’s about responsibility.

You're wonderful for helping these critters!! I have ratties, and a Rabbit for personal pets (on top of a leopard gecko, 2 cats and 2 dogs) :) I would love to have more rodents!

You literally live my dream I have always actually wanted to take care of a bunch of small animals people usually get more animals unless they think that if a hamster cute nobody really pays a lot of attention to the other small animals I am so glad I found your channel because you are the first Channel that I found who actually also talks about mice besides its hamsters and most people don't even talk to about small animals until someone talks to them about it

I love kaytee, but I mix it with fiber core Eco bedding (or Petco has a new Crinkle bedding that has no baking soda) or snake Aspen. It seems to fluff it up longer.

Everything seems to break your heart ❤️

I don't wonna be rude but I really wouldnt recommend oxbow for guinea pigs i've found that Higgins is a really good brand and it had a lot of vitamin c in it which is really good for guinea pigs

Pardon me for asking, but why is Oxbow not good for guinea pigs? I only got my pigs a few months ago and stick to the recommended brand (Oxbow-don’t worry, it wasn’t recommended by the pet store. Just an experienced owner). But I’m not experienced enough to know the difference between good pig food. Is there any reason Oxbow isn’t good for them??

The food quality doesn't seem to be as good as other brands and I don't think there are as much vitamins and nuetriants in there compared to what I get now and my guinea pig refuses to eat it (she's kinda a diva). I think it's more of personal experience but I would go with higgins I've been getting it for years and my guinea pig gets so excited when I refill her bowl cause there little treats on the food.

@@athenis4426 Ah, I see. My pigs will eat anything so I can’t really discern what they like and don’t like, and they get really excited when I feed them pellets and not the veggies. But they still eat all of it lol. Guess it’s because they’re pet store pigs (the shelter closed indefinitely because of Covid). I’ll try out Higgins after I make it through this bag!

Higgins is usually representative of the type of food mix many suggest NOT feeding guinea pigs, specifically because of all the add-ins (which, of course, guinea pigs love because they are tasty treats). They tend to be on the sugary and less-nutritional side than a basic bag of pellets, like Oxbow, which should already have 100% of their needed daily vitamins. I would suggest using treats or add-ins 1-2 times a week at most. Oxbow (which many vets recommend) is a better brand, though there are certainly more expensive brands that are even better quality.
