I'm a vet tech student and we keep mice, rats, and gerbils to learn with. I have been advocating for better care for them based off what I have learned from you. We use to keep them in "research facility" housing but I have got my professors and school to agree to larger community enclosure for them with better bedding and variety of feeding. The animals are much happier now which in turn makes them easier to handle and learn with. Wins all around

My only critique of niteangel is the multichamber hides can pose a hazard if you put anything on top of them. Several hamsters and mice have died getting stuck between the top and a wall. I suggest putting nothing on top, gluing it permanently together, or putting something so heavy the hamsters will not be able to lift the top while trying to squeeze over the wall. They are much stronger than you think so imo it's best to glue it or put nothing on it. Just an fyi to anyone unaware. 🐹❤️

I cut a piece of card board to fit the top and use that with nothing on top and just replace when needed thanks for advice tho it would be awful to come to a dead or hurt hamster 😢

@@TheKatarinaGiselle They probably end up using it as a platform for the food or water or wheel etc. Thinking the lid is just to come off while cleaning or checking on your hamster.

Wow, such a nice gesture from Niteangel, too bad there not known among casual customers.... I wish they'd put a store over here...or distribute to pet shops. I'm glad they donated these supplies to you, ya'll needed some more supplies! Keep your chin up Munchie, you're such a great motivation and person! It's also crazy how many of their products can "connect" with each other...GREAT designs!

You are an angel and I hope you are doing okay physically and mentally. I de with multiple chronic illnesses and autoimmune diseases and I know how hard it makes it to function in life while caring for others, and the hardships of finances. While out bulk hunting today,I found a critter trail cage and hamster ball. The poor hamster probably died in that thing and luckily they threw it out. Those things are such a waste of money with how flimsy and tiny they are.

Better for now, thankfully my last massage session on my back kind of helped me be more flexible and less stiff. Getting more sleep too which is good but still trying to be careful of flareups.

I'm a 14 year old girl, my sister works at a petstore and someone returned a tan coat mouse. I've been doing research and I took her in yesterday. She's very skiddish and won't go near me. She was retured in a crittertrails kaytee cage. She didn't have much bedding. I can't afford much and I moved her to my spare 10 gallon. I'm in the process of combining my old cage (it's that one cage with the 2 layers and the clear blue bottom. Yes I'm disappointed I used that for my SYRIAN HAMSTER) I have a niteangel wheel for my new tiny mouse. I'm working on getting a female friend for vanilla ( my new mouse). I took my old crittertrails cage (I have 2 now. My friend gave me hers because my teddybear hamster needed a temporary cage cause he was fighting with another) I combined the 2 cages to make a taller cage for a bit more space. This is a temporary tank for the 2nd mouse. Can I please have some advice? I'm scared to make any wrong moves because of my past trauma with unknowingly abusing my syrian hamster.

And yes, she has lots of enrichment, and yes I'm aware of the horrible breeding with tan coated mice. I'm working on finding some more toys for her too.

I'm so glad as well, it was a surprise to see an email from them in our inbox, saying they wanted to help. Seriously the relief I felt was incredible.

I'm still waiting for niteangel coming to EU.. sure they are close in UK but the tax to european union is so much :c

Guinea pigs really do take up a lot of space!! Just this week I had 2 people asking me to take in piggies, one has 4, one has 2, I just don't know if I can do it yet, I told them their on a wait list for now. I have to work out budget and space. Not so much space as budget though, that's the key! The worst is I'm not a actual rescue, I just do this out of kindness and love for guinea pigs. sorry for rambling.

Hi munchie, PLEASEE answer me you are my last hope!! I have a rescue robo and he bites a bit but friendly overall, I have the maxi duna multy with LOADS of enrichment and chews and everything he needs but he keeps chewing the plastic ledge when he is in his burrow! He is really close to chewing all the way through and I spent £200 on his cage so really don’t want to have to buy another one, i have asked Victoria too and waiting for reply, what do i do munchie?? HELP ME PLEASEEEe🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Can hamsters be kept on rice hulls

I'd worry about mold. That's why corn bedding isn't recommended. Maybe as a digging box, however I'm unfamiliar with rice hulls for hamsters.

@@MunchiesPlace we use then for horse due to some shaving have toxic fumes and rice hulls will not harm the horse if it is accidentally ingested.
