I have two adult female piggies and I bought the 12.5 sq ft (60" x 30") habitat for them. I haven't had any problems with them getting out. The sides are more stable with the top on. I have cats, so I made sure to get the top. Its great! I've had it for a year now.
My sister had a hamster named Flower when we were really little!
The fact that one of my gerbils hides is the same size (not with height) as that cage Is just sad
I live in Idaho and i haven't been able to find any hamsters for adoption. I checked my local animal shelter
What did the vet say about her? That's so sad

Anyone who lost a hamster I am sorry for your loss and know how you feel. Lost my beautiful syrian hamster named Roach a year and a half ago. He was my best friend and a very sweet soul. Mine was a long time ago now but I still miss him and think of him so if you recently lost a hamster my biggest virtual hugs to you xx
It makes me mad to see people abuse any animals too. I had a beautiful syrian teddy bear hamster named Roach, he was big for a hamster about the size of my hand. It broke my heart when he got sick and had to let him go to rainbow bridge while at the vets. I know its been a year and a half ago since that time now but I still miss him and love him. I have two girl chinchillas now they are abit like a cross between squirels and rabbits, so yep I feel you as I care and love for small animals as well as I care for the big ones too.

Just wanted to let you know it's 800 square inches now. At least, that's what people have told me when i talk about getting a hamster.
Ok i need this content because I'm getting a hamster soon. I'm making a large bin cage. People online have been telling me 800 square inches or more so the requirements have gotten larger (or they just live somewhere with better care). But yeah, I'm watching all the hamster videos i can find.

Buying a 200 qt bin for my hamster cage. It's huge and cheap for someone who doesn't have a large budget to get him set up!

I hate it so much when people buy animals "for the children", especially small animals. IT. IS. NOT. A. TOY! And what would children do with a solitary, nocturnal animal anyway?

I can see why people like these and see the benefit, but it should have been designed better to take safety in consideration! It could have been designed with a secure opening at the top to add water into it. Then the gravity hole could have been extremely small to prevent climbing into.

We're struggling with the heat, too! I moved here for the rain, and the summers surprise me every year😭 I have heard that putting foam craft boards in your window frames helps. Especially covered in foil to reflect the sun out. I hope you are staying safe in this heat wave, and may many cool breezes come your way!
Same here in Oregon with the heat… I’m in a third floor apartment so my unit heats up easy and fast. I hope the rescue does okay for the rest of this heat wave… passings are never easy to cope with
Hey munchie, they have decently cheap black out/thermo regulating curtains at wayfair that will help keep your home cooler 🤗 I had to buy some myself bc my windows suck and I’m in the sun. They actually work in keeping it cooler and saving money on your power bill. Love ya munchie ❤🤝 Ps life happens, we understand 🤗

Tomorrow the 9th of July is Mrs pepper pots 1st anniversary of going over the rainbow bridge, she was my first adoption from a rescue shelter hamster.
I'm fro. England and i totally agree with you! I also use cookie jars or small seed propergaters and there is a plus because it has ventilation at the top! (Coz mine use them as toilets too! 😂)
Take your time. You should not push yourself too far. Take rest and take care of yourself. Your body and mind need rest sometimes haha.
