The life hunt scythe is absolutely my favorite weapon in all of the souls games, and pairing it with Priscillas dagger is even more fun. Hope they bring them back in a new game some day.

I'm really loving these DS1 pvp videos, they bring me good memories of ages past...

And I enjoyed the learning process with Dark Souls III streamers and watching Peeve, Yukas, Oro etc. get excited over new things before sorta falling out of it. And I know that was a while ago, but I really just don't remember many of these dudes having the most fun with it. It didn't even feel like a series burnout type thing as much as simply not enjoying the game's systems as much as Dark Souls. I've mostly just been watching ChaseTheBro these last couple years since his streams are fun, but I miss the comradery of the OGs. Maybe it's just me and how I've involved myself in the community. Dark Souls III turned into a bit of a crapshoot for me pretty early on tbh Just been trudging along with it ever since and not really enjoying it. Either way - seriously looking forward to ER

obobobobo using my favorite weapon, what a day the heavy attack is also pretty good... but the normal light attacks leave something to be desired imo also if you wear heavier knight-like armor, your bleed meter will fill up a lot slower... i use a mix of elite knight on my build also has some poise so pokes dont stagger me to death

The regular sorcerers catylist has the highest adj from 27-40 int aside from Manus and TCC both of which half your castings. Logan's is best after 40 int though. Catylists and magic in general is kinda jank in this game.

@@Victor-Soria true. Must not have had any boosts like bellowing or dusk crown. I'm not big into intelligence builds too boring in pve and in pvp all spells were easily avoidable unless lag was involved.

The whole time watching this I was thinking "in soviet Russia, scythe reaps you" because of the self bleeding effect.

Why crystallize the shield?

HOw do you get so many invasions? Usually i sit for 15 minutes untill something pops-up. Darkmoon convenant invasions are almost impossible

Arent scythes unparriable in dks1? I remember them being unparriable in one of them.

They're parriable in DS1 and DS3. In DS2 they technically are but Reaper and Halberd class weapons can only be parried on the sweet spot, which makes parrying them a risk because only good players will reliably hit on the sweet spot but good players will also read and actively counter parry attempts.

Artorias’ sword done how little damage with that first guy? I know it is not that bad of a weapon.

The weapon is likely barely upgraded or not upgraded at all, since it's actually a pretty decent weapon albeit comes with absurdly jank stat requirements.

Those first guys fishing that hard are annoying. I remember trying to not play cheap and go for backstabs only like you did only to get rewarded by people fishing like those guys. Then you know, it's free real estate of backstabs after that

Hopefully when Elden Ring comes out you won’t get hacked by RCE invaders.

It seems like there's no lag stab or people teleporting a bit. Why do when I play I have people in front of me just warping time and backstabbing me? Teach me master.

Why is it when oro backstabs he always does 80% of their up but always gets backstabbed for like 10%

I'm new to dark souls pvp so this is a genuine question: how come some of these guys do so little damage to Oroboro, even though he doesn't seem to be wearing very heavy armor?

I can't tell you the exact reason but here are my guesses: -Armor upgrades. You can upgrade your armor to increase the stats, actually without influencing matchmaking. -PvP build vs PvE builds. Dedicated PvP builds normally have a huge chunk of health, since backstabs will happen and deal quite alot of damage. Surviving is key. -Progression. Given Oro's upgrade level is at +15, he can invade down to +10. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it can make a fifth of your AR (just checked on a claymore build). Also they are propably using an inoptimal weapon path (chaos and crystal are about the strongest, they propably use standard). -Humanity. Soft humanity increases Defense capping at 99 (maximum there is). Normal players propably don't carry as much, propably the only people who do this are PvP'ers out for a fight. Hope I could help [T]/

Man, Fuck Remastered. How could they inadvertently nerf scythes (my favorite weapon type) by getting rid of dead-angles, but not getting rid of backstab chaining :(

I remember getting destroyed by Oro once or twice back in the day. I had no idea what I was doing but I at least tried to fight honorably. Each time I got wrecked I learned something though

Yeah, DS2 is the only game with Reaper backstabs that make sense.

Why is the damage so skewed in this video? The crystal magic and katanas barely did anything to you and youre in lighter armor, but you were reliably 2-4 shotting most players with a scythe, which do respectable damage but are not the highest DPS weapons out there, especially since the gimmick with that scythe is the 500 bleed counter instead of the usual ~300. Some of these areas were late game as well like Izalith or Oolacile. These players should have mostly maxed gear, why were they doing so little and most of them having less than 1000 health. Is Darksouls pvp just filled with newer players or is my memory of how darksouls pvp used to be clouding how it is now? I remember the 800 damage chaos katanas, and the 1000 damage chaos zwei combos, or the 2000 damage instant backstab/parry cheese build and oh god the buffs needed for every dumb fight. What happened

As Envenomed mentioned he has 99 humanity which alone makes someone incredibly durable. Additionally, the scythe would occasionally bleed proc, and Lifehunt alongside Priscilla's Dagger has a more potent bleed that rips out 50% health instead of 30%.

@@ebonslayer3321 I mentioned the 500 bleed Proc which is noticeable when it lands since the bleeding strike usually does 1000 damage or 1200 on the other poor soul who got bled and produces a red mist, but 99 humanity only boosts physical defense by approx 40, along with some other defensive boosts. a crystal soul spear, the one he face tanked, has an int requirement of 44 and can do approx 1000 damage to bosses. My mans took 3 homing masses and that and lost practically a quarter of health. Thats unusual. And again going back to his armor, hes speedy rolling and has the FAP ring, so his defensive stat is lower compared to his usual elite knight rig and he has no other active defensive boost. Ive had +5 Giant armor 99 humanity and still take up to 450 from WoG and like 800 from a crystal soul spear. Additionally he seems to be doing equal damage to some of the heavier weapons like that demons greataxe (gank segment) running 2h was about equal to one of his strikes, which is also weird. Like i said the damage seems skewed, maybe the people hes attacking arent optimized since hes invading but only a few competitors seemed to be on equal footing in terms of damage numbers

@@ebonslayer3321 I guess if you consider that a wall guy, Standard Pvp levels used to be ~120 but these are invasions. low level explains lower enemy HP pools but not really the damage recieved/given considering upgrading gear is easy if youre in Izalith/Oolacile. Also doesnt Explain how a CSS did like 120 damage, even with a bad catalyst its still 44 int

Dark Souls 1 pvp is the worst in the entire series by such an incredibly wide margin, it's not even funny.
