I think as someone who is a kpop fan for a while, they understand that the industry is far from a fairytale. It is usually the new young fans who might see it as a fairy tale.

@@yleilaf.a7967 I kind of agree with you. I'm an old fan myself and I've been into K-pop long enough to know how things work, and what you say about new fans is also true but I have encountered old fans that have a huge misconception about the K-pop industry. They think everything is fine and nothing needs to be changed or fixed.

Maybe he relates to every word Ashley is saying. He's shared in the past that he used to think once he debuted he'd have money to buy all his friends some Rolex. It took him 5 years to debut. He had to work part time jobs to solve his expenses as a trainee meanwhile. He even thought an ex girlfriend dumped him cuz he wasn't debuting. He was about to quit being a trainee...

YES! Dude Jae/eaj has made it so clear about the real struggles of being kpop idols. He is always so open to what he has to go through and a lot of the people who watch him have seen these struggles in real time. He gets crap for just being himself, people will misunderstand him, antis are always at his throat stripping away his freedom of speech, and after all that he still has to put on a bright face to continue doing the things he loves. People try to farm drama out of him every single day just to get clout, and he is an easy target because his mental health is not the best. Being an idol is great on the outside but the things they have to put up with are insane and horrible.

idk y Ashley look down on herself/team so much. Ladies Code was really gd and talented. And the fact that they werent from a big3, and was popular, shows so much of their musicality. Yes they worked rlly hard for it (esp hard since they're in a new/non pop company), and was rewarded when they won a newcomer award in gaon, which just speaks for itself. I wasnt their fan, but I knew of them then and appreciated their music, which shows how incredibly talented they were. Though their success was rather short due to the incident, I believe that as a grp, they did outshine and prove themselves. It would have been great if their popularity lasted since they make amazing music, but it gets rlly hard when you have to reform your grp and concept. Nonetheless, I hope Ashley knows that she was an amazing idol then, and to look proud of that.

That goes for any company, whether you're working at a retail store, restaurant, etc. The owners always say, "We're a family," but no, an owner and employee aren't family. It's a business relationship. Of course, there are exceptions, where a company really takes good care of you, and you have a great relationship with them, but it's rare.

It sounded like companies try to potrait a nice and welcoming atmosphere in the beginning so that idols feel like they made the right choice working as an idol. But after the debute you quickly notice as an idol that the family atmosphere is fake and reality is that you get overworked and even treated poorly
