My first husband taunted my parents that nobody would want me after him because I was like damaged goods. The irony was that he was a divorcee himself when we married. After that Allah bought me someone better than him, younger than him, more educated than him. And this second time round, I was his first. Alhamdulilah all praise to Allah. I would advise all brothers to search for piety. Whether a maiden or a divorcee.

But one important thing is never get involved in a relationship or marry a person just because you feel pathetic for them and want to help them out or just to prove that your not racist for example . Wow when he was talking about his health I realized that you never really know what people are going through. Be kind to one another.

I'm a revert, also a single mother who was never married, and even though I am not looking for a husband and I accept my current situation, it is pretty nice to see men like yourselves who would not mind marrying someone who is divorced and has a child. someone once told me that in order for me to find a husband I'd need to accomplish the unthinkable so I can be worthy, but I realized that marriage isn't for everyone and now that I think about it, maybe I gave up and closed my heart for a potential husband with the excuse that it's better off for me to be alone learning my religion on my own. Additionally, I would like to thank you for commenting on traditions that are mere cultural and not Islamic. I have not found a community which could teach me Islamic traditions and knowledge vs cultural traditions.

Monkil I would encourage to delete the part where you stated " I am not looking for a husband". Marriage is Sunnah and be optimistic about marriage as a muslim. It protects your from every evil in this society. I am divorced but I still value marriage as it will open me furthers doors in terms of my imaan.

My father is a better man for not having his own father growing up al7emdulillah 3la kol 7aal and I wish I could be half the man he is today. Not all divorced women are sunshine and rainbows, BTW, for she or her ex-husband divorced for a reason. So I would look at what leat to that, if it wasn't her fault then no problem however if she had part in it then mate why would I set my self for failure. Marrying a divorced woman, there is always some trauma that comes with it.

The sahaba would die to marry a divorcee? They would put their life on the line only on the battlefield and to protect the Prophet (peace be upon him)... Just be careful of overdoing it.

Inshaallah it's not easy but Allah give us the strength to keep moving on. I'm divorce and alot of men mistreat us and treat us like we are nothing to them. It's very hurtful. I'm dealing with chronic pain in my body but before when I was working people use me to help them but now no one wants to be with me because of this issue. My ex husband was a drunk who tried to kill me several times. I have a scar on my palm from where i was cut holding a knife back from my throat. The stigma is real, i wish people would get to know the divorcee before judging. Allah does not want us to be tortured and abused.

Barakallahu feekum for you both brother Ali and Ayman . Just seen this video after 4 years but really make sense in a Muslim world bcs lots of brother out there still judge the sisters without analysing our stories. And trying forget the sunnah of our prophet Muhammad ( pbuh) . This matter still exists and should pass on from time to time . RasoollAllh ( pbuh) left us a beautiful message before he passed away that noone is superior to anyone bcs of his or her colour of the skin but many Muslims are still racist. I, am sorry to say this but it's evident and it still exist .

He reminded me of Allah (swt) more even though I always did remind myself. But I've come to realise that the thought of him would only bring me closer to Allah (swt) and call upon him more often than I did. He has guided me towards Allah (swt). This so true I'm 33 divorced with two children from UK n over years of searching for a partner I have always come across negativity n it makes you think twice. We are like any other women...sad times. May Allah reward those who marry divorced women with or with out children Ameen

It may be true that a lot of brothers or people in general look down upon divorcees, but with respect my dear brother, you're making it look as if it's only a problem with the males of this Ummah. Wallahi there's many, many sisters that would prefer not to marry a divorced brother and if he's divorced with a child, then without a shadow of a doubt it's a no. Something else that's noteworthy is the fact that you mention the Prophet (saws) and the Sahaba rushing to marry divorced women which is true. I do however feel that you're not looking at the bigger picture my beloved brother which is that they had multiple marriages and even women the right hand possesses. So many, (in fact, it's safe to say that almost all) had multiple polygamous marriages and relations with more than one woman. Therefore it is equally important that sisters understand that they should also be accommodating to the fact that polygamy is indeed permissible in Islam and to say you dislike it or disagree with it is Kuffr by the Ijmaa' of ahlul ilm, because Allah has explicitly mentioned that you may wed 4 should you wish. If there were more sisters that were willing to be part of a polygamous marriage, you'd see less unmarried divorced sisters too in my humble opinion. But the fact is that a lot of sisters in general (including divorcees), will unfortunately refuse to be another wife as many sisters find the prospect extremely distasteful. There's a lot of sisters who openly proclaim that that they perceive the brother as being a pervert and look down upon a brother that seeks a second or even third wife. SubhanAllah fear Allah! Allah has made it Halal and if you have a problem with this, you should seriously look at the state of your heart and rekindle that light of Imaan in your heart! I recall a sister once tweeted: "If you love your husband and truly desire for a fellow Muslim what you desire for yourselves, you would happily share your beloved husband with your equally beloved sister in Islam." Ultimately Allah knows best.

For all the sisters out there who’s doing through the difficulties of divorce may Allah swt make it up you don’t ever blame for ur for others mistakes only u and Allah know best what u have been through so stay strong I’m sure ur Mrs right will come soon in sha Allah
